Mayday
Diagnosis Leukemia

Mother and grandmother, Lois Murphy, was healthy, active and happy having worked hard to establish a comfortable life for herself and her three children (now all adults) in Wellington, New Zealand.

Enter 1st May 1996

Suddenly her world is turned upside down when one morning she realises that she can’t move and that something is terribly wrong! So tired...heart racing...so alone!

“Mayday! Help!”

This is her personal journey into the frightening world of a shock diagnosis, white coats and difficult life saving treatments. Lois recounts her experience with raw honestly and tender observations of the new ‘life’ that is now hers. Meanwhile her family and friends deal with her Leukemia in their own ways - sometimes, not as one would expect.

An upbeat memoir about having Leukemia

In reading all the Leukemia memoirs I can find, this one is not all Christian-y and has a sense of humor with the fear. I highly recommend it.
