DESCRIPTION:

At last, all will be known...

Many years have passed since Breeze Tinkerman vanished in her spring-powered plane over the northern Wastes while searching for the fabled lost city in the ice, but her daughter River is more than happy to carry on her legacy. The Vangar overlords have turned Astatia into a slave state, forcing citizens to work in their mines and factories, stealing Astatia's resources for their own greedy ends while living safely high above in the sky-city known as Juntavar.

River has never known any life other than the mean streets of Dockside, but street life has made her strong and resourceful. She's the perfect leader, and that's what her ragtag group of rebels needs most. The rebels meet to conspire against their overlords but their meeting is interrupted by three sentinels - Vangar warriors whose bodies have been melded with nine-foot-tall suits of armor powered by steam - and River has no choice but to lead the Vangars away from the others, exposing her and forcing her to go on the run.

Along the way, River runs into some of the last people she'd ever expected to meet. She learns that there still might be a way to defeat the Vangars. She also learns that her mother's fate may have been decidedly different than what she was led to believe. Now, River will do anything to learn the truth about her blood-kin. And one way or another, she's determined to destroy the Vangars once and for all.

Also contains the short story "The City in the Wastes."

Have become a big fan of Steampunk & author Sedgwick has caught flare of genre. Book is creative with exceptionally well drawn characters. This is one readers will want to read again for nuances. Looking forward to more from this author.

Finally read this book and so glad that I did. I am really getting more and more into Steampunk and this book, which I was lucky enough to win in the Giveaways, is definitely a great book. I did read out of order but I will hopefully read them soon.

Thanks for the great book to add to my bookshelf and to read again after I get the other books in the series! Great read!

An excellent ending to the Tinkerer's Daughter Trilogy! Without giving away spoilers all I can say is reading this book will bring plenty of surprises. If you haven't read any of the books in this series you need to as Jamie Sedgwick has certainly got a winner here. I will say one thing, I'm waiting with baited breath for the next series, Aboard the Great Iron Horse!

This book was some adventure I tell ya! I really liked it a lot. It was very vivid in description of surroundings and characters and the story line was great. I want to read it again when I finish reading my other books.

Disappointing

The jump from Breeze as our main character to her daughter left me feeling like this book was just a set up for the next series. There was too much disconnection between characters and not enough substance to make me love any of them.

Mostly captivating reading. A few ponderous places where it seemed to run out of steam (yeah, sorry about that!)

I seem to have said it all in the line above and can't cut and paste it. Sorry. Another Word!

This was an excellent conclusion to a great series. A mixture of steampunk and magic, this fantasy adventure is filled with action, has a good storyline and intriguing characters.

It was well-written, fast-paced and imaginative. There were goodies and baddies, as well as political and philosophical insights.

I like the first-person perspectives, which gave deeper meaning to the story - my favourite characters were Breeze, River and Crow, although Tinker and Socrates were fascinating.

Overall, a brilliant piece of storytelling.

Highly recommended.

Fantastic

This series is well written. The characters are all ingeniously put together. From beginning to end, you will not want to put each of the three stories in this series down. Well worth reading. Enjoy!

Good read

This series is very entertaining. The characters are exciting and believable. I have read three of the series and have thoroughly enjoyed them. Breeze, River, and Crow finally get together as a family. That was what I was hoping for.

Fun and imaginative

I loved the generational theme and characters. I fell in love with the hero's, and wanted to strangle the villian's. I really got involved with the characters.

This is a good dystopion series targeted at teens, but adults will like it too. Series ends more abruptly than expected, but leaves the window open for branch off series.

Nice ending

Nice ending to a series of books. Liked how it all came together towards the end. The thrill of the story to be able to continue i.e. If the author wanted to.

Exciting

So very good ending to this series, but is it really an end? All our fab characters are here with the conclusions to many of their stories.
