Discover the story behind the story in this fascinating epic tale of Cassandra Jasmine Houston and the road that led her to her beloved Cassandra's Cops. When her grandparents' die and Raymond Houston transplants his daughter from the comfort of small-town Texas life into the bustling, crime-ridden metropolis of Chicago, pre-pubescent Cassandra must learn to deal with a bitter, if fateful, road ahead. Stepping back in time to the moments of Cass's hysterectomy, loss of virginity, the beginnings of her writing career, her introduction to long-time friend Sebastion Knight, and the ever-memorable first ever contact with her future husband, “Prologue: The Story of Cassandra Jasmine Houston” is a dramatic thrill-ride from the tense, gripping opening line to the classic, sexually-charged end.
What's to say? Let's start with my favorite quotes (Yea, cynicism is almost a religious thing with me)
"The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who have not got it." George Bernard Shaw (1856 - 1950)
"Inside every cynical person, there is a disappointed idealist." George Carlin (May 12, 1937 – June 22, 2008)
I've been writing ever since I can remember. I love it. More, I love being Indie.
I was born and bred in Chicago (many places in the Cassandra's Cops Series actually exist! I used to live in John's building!). I currently live in Southern California with my husband, Marty, my ex husband Don (don't go there, it isn't even remotely what you're thinking, ya perv!) and three great kids!
Being Indie, I can (and do) publish what I want, when I want. Perfect examples of this are found in Michael and the issues addressed in many of my books and stories. I've been told I make people think. Praise don't get higher than that!
This is probably my favorite of the Cassandra's Cops books (so far, let me note that, who knows what else Crystal has up her sleeve). Cass is an amazing and very different character and to see the people and events who helped her become the woman she is was enlightening. A great read as part of the CC series or just as a stand alone.
This is very much the story of author Crystal Brewton, as well as the title character Cassandra. If you want to learn the intimates about this author, then read this book.
