Dylan I had one dream of life. Attend college on a lacrosse scholarship. But that dream was shot to shit when my mother uproots us and moves us to another state to live with my aunt. Even worse. This new school doesn’t have a girls’ team. I’m not going to let that stop me. They have a boys’ team and I intend to be on it. Look out boys there’s a new girl in town. Jacob Seeing her on the field, demanding to try out for the boy's lacrosse team wasn’t what I expected. I thought I’d lost my chance to tell my childhood crush how I felt about her when my father was reassigned to a new duty session. But here she is now and I’m not letting this chance slide. Do I go along with her plan? What do I do when my best friend also wants her? Guess we’re going to have to leave it all on the field and see what happens.
Cassie resides in Northern Illinois on a farm with her husband and six kids. When not writing she can be found reading or chauffeuring her kids or showing pigs. Cassie is a huge advocate for foster care and adoption. Enjoys a good horror movie, a dark romance, and alcohol. Lots and lots of alcohol. You did just read she has six kids right?
What made me really like this book was Dylan. I love and admire the fact that she Didn't let anyone or anything stop her from Making her dreams come true, Which was to play lacrosse even if it means playing in an all boys team. I really liked the fact that she didn't let anybody walk all over her and she always stood up herself.
Out of the guys my favorite one was Ford. His and Dylan's relationship was very Instalove and happened very quickly but they had really good chemistry.
Im not gonna lie Jacob was annoying me at the beginning of the book. I found him to be very whiny 😭 like if u like the girl go for it but don't complain and treat people differently cause u messed up. Matthew was hot but very judgmental. He formed one opinion about Dylan and ran with it the entire book.
I know everything is gonna be all out in the open next book so I can't wait for it.
this is one of the rare times where i actually think i’ve regressed as a human after reading something - ALSO SHE WAS PLAYING MEN’S FIELD LACROSSE WITH A FEMALE STICK????????
All On The Field, book 1 of the Outlaws Duet by Cassie Lein @cassieleinauthor & Bre Rose @breroseauthor. First off, I am a fan of Cassie’s & Bre’s & this book was no different! Read the trigger warnings!
Woohoo! This was a fantastic start to Dylan, Ford & Jacob. Let's not forget Matthew. Amazing! Tropes: MFM, building the harem, Lacrosse, High School, Step-Brother, childhood friends to lovers, & secret identity.
Personally, I didn’t like the the FMC and the way she interacted with the other 2 characters. The “ropes” that kept getting mentioned in regard to the smut grossed me out 🤢. The way the characters interacted with one another was very unrealistic and everything with the step brother was weird. Did not enjoy overall
Love it! First time reading a sport book with lacrosse! I love the whole dynamic. I get the whole ‘Shes the man’ vibe and the overall storyline was amazing. Can’t wait to read book 2!
Whew. This book was wow. My first lacrosse romance and it was fantastic. Love Dylan for not letting anyone tell her she can't. Ford is just the sweetest. Jacob...I didn't love him at first but he grew on me. And Matthew, well you'll know when you read it. The progression was great and the relationship felt natural. Definitely one I'll recommend and read again.
Another ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for this banging co writing team. If you have not read a Bre and Cassie, why choose book, this one is an absolute perfect start that will leave you hot and bothered wondering crazy thoughts such as why you didn't join a men's lacrosse team in high school? Why don’t you have a hot older step brother? Yes that good!!!
Dylan is about to be a senior when her parents marriage falls apart and she is forced to move with her mother. After she is at her new school she finds out there is no girls lacrosse team. A huge problem for Dylan, being her goal since she could remember is to get a lacrosse scholarship for her top college pick, in Colorado. Moving back home to live with her dad is not a possibility, being he has barely spoken to her since she moved. So she comes up with a plan to do whatever it takes to get on the men's lacrosse team. There are no rules that say the team can't be Co-Ed. Just when she is explaining this to the coach and begging him to give her a chance to try out for the team, in walks the boy that broke Dylan's heart, her ex bestie, Jacob.
Dylan and Jacob grew up together but as they got older they both started to crush on one another, though neither expressed those feelings to one another. Then Jacob’s Dad job is transferred and has to move and change high schools. Dylan vows to keep in touch but Jacob thinks a long distance friendship let alone a relationship is just not doable, so he cuts her off completely. His theory is it will just be easier, a choice he later will regret. Dylan is heartbroken, her best friend just moved away before she could tell him her true feelings and he refuses to speak to her. Add on her parents marriage starting to fall apart along with some crazy high school drama and all she wants is her bestie to talk to.
Now two years later they come face to face, Jacob the captain of the men's lacrosse team and Dylan the only girl trying out. Jacob wants to grab her, kiss her and tell her he missed her so much. Instead he plays it cool and try’s to get all the guys on the team to play ruff and and so dirty so Dylan doesn’t try out and join the team, why? Because he doesn't want her to get hurt. He knows her long time dream is to get a lacrosse scholarship in Colorado, if she gets hurt playing with a bunch of guys much larger than she is then her dream is over just like that. One big problem he doesn't take into account that would be virtually impossible to get a scholarship with no women's team for Dylan to play on at their school.
Ford is Jacob's best friend and team mate. He knows Jacob has been in love with this girl back home, so much so he is saving his virginity and plans on going back home after graduation to tell her how he feels about her. He just doesn't know yet that the girl his best friend is in love with just walked into try out for their lacrosse team. Ford quickly realizes this beautiful sassy girl is one and the same girl that his best friend has been pining over for years. He then gets wind that Jacob has told all the guy’s to NOT take it easy on Dylan, and can’t understand why he would blow his chances to finally get the girl. Ford, a bit of a love them and leave them kind of guy and known to be quite the lady’s man instantly has the hot’s for Dylan. He comes up with a plan, if Jacob is stupid enough to blow his chances then why not go after the hot new girl? The first day of tryouts show everyone that Dylan not only is a good player with skills but also she has determination to get on the team. It didn’t matter how many times guys twice her size knocked her over or threw in some kind of cheep shot, she got up and kept playing. Ford uses this to his advantage and comes up with a proposition, he trains Dylan and helps her get a spot in the team and she goes out on a date with him. Can he convince her to accept his proposition ? Is this girl worth risking his friendship with Jacob?
Now if Dylan doesn't have enough drama in her life let's add in her mom who quite clearly doesn't seem to care much about Dylan as long as Dylan starts to act more like the daughter she has always envisioned. A princess type not a sports loving tom boy. In reality it seems if her mom just cares about outward appearances and controlling her. Dylan has no intention on being something she is not, a version of a daughter her mom wants her to be. Dylan’s mother breaks the big news that the doctor she works for has just asked her to marry him and they are going to move in with her new fiancé and his 22 year old son Matthew. Dylan meets Mathew and he is very good looking, but has a bit of a better than you attitude. They both are attracted to one another but both have the wrong impression of one another. Throw in Matthew's new job is none other than the Lacrosse recruiter for the Colorado University that is Dylan’s number one choice to attend with one of the best lacrosse teams and this new living situation becomes a lot more complicated.
So what is a girl to do when she has 3 very attractive men that want her.....well it either is a major cluster *uc* or well.....why should Dylan have to choose?
The spice is well off the charts and this book is definitely going to leave you wanting for more and more and more. Is 3 the magic number for Dylan?
Woo man ! Jacob and Ford are delish, and i couldn't get enough of them! Bre and Cassie sure are a top knotch team! Again they have brought us a 5 star read!!! I can't wait to see what they have up their sleeves with all or nothing!!
1. She’s disrespectful towards the coach 2. Ford knows that Jacob (his best friend) is in love with her and still decides to be with Dylan, MIND you they first see each other a week ago and now suddenly they’re dating… 3. The flow of the book is not it
This is one of the best co-writes! I have read previous books they've written together and I love the collaboration between Ms Rose and Ms Lein. And this time they bring us to the world of sport with a twist. Not the sport itself but of a girl so determined she'll do anything to make her dreams come true. And that dream is to play lacrosse, even if she has to join the men's team. They bring a freshness to a story, humour, strong FMC's and the most delicious guys! And, sigh, are they YUMMY!
So, Dylan recently moved to a new town after her folks divorced. She an outsider who's whole life is Lacrosse but they don't have a female team at the school. So what does sassy Dylan do? Manipulates her way into the guy's team! And she's good, really a good player. And the guy who broke her heart just so happens to be captain of the team... shock? Yeah. But more shocking is that Jacob thought he was protecting her by not keeping in touch. Bad idea.... and then the sparks start flying! Jacob's best friend, Ford, falls for Dylan hard. Now before you say "what a d*ck", he's REALLY a great guy, he really doesn't want to hurt Jacob but with Jacob messing up time and again, Ford comes up with a plan. When Ford's's plan actually works, I literally jumped up to do a fist pump!
Dylan tries keeping out of her mom's hair, which is tough because everything Dylan wants, her mom disapproves of. Now there's a control freak of note! Not only does mother dearest abhor lacrosse, she'd have an aneurysm if she knew Dylan was actually part of a team. The all boys team ... although, mom is more concerned about her imminent wedding than anything else, which allows Dylan to keep up the charade. Except, Dylan's new step brother to be is the soon to be groom's son! Yes, a completely convoluted plot which is so hot and steamy, which has so many aspects, literally, to it, that it's simply divine! I loved all the guys, each one for a different reason and loved seeing it all come together. Well, except for Matthew, THAT is imminent, if only he can get over himself. I loved how much Dylan and Matthew danced around each other verbally, how the secrets they all keep threaten to expose them and all the cloak and dagger. Absolutely stunning.
Stunning too is the way these authors know exactly how to keep ones attention, how beautifully they created these awesome characters, that I could do nothing but love them all. I loved this story, I loved how sassy and cocky Dylan is. I loved how the progression of her romance gave her (and me!) so much more! I mean, what's not to love about 2 guys drooling over you? But hang on, is there more? Are there more? Hmmm...read this spectacular book and find out first hand.... I highly recommend you do!
This book came up in one of my reader groups, with the hidden female trope. The idea of this book is fantastic, the follow through- just wasn’t there. Fmc is a strong, independent, sassy , athlete who has her eyes focused on the sport, or so she says in the beginning. Then the classic playboy is interested and all of a sudden (and I literally mean a few sentences later) she basically redacts and changes who she is/said she was. So much for “I’m not interested, I only am focusing on lacrosse” then all of a sudden her and this guy are going back to his place and getting hot and heavy, after she acted like she’s not like that. And then they make it official after knowing each other less than a week, they’re bf/gf. I can’t contain my eye rolls. They are in high school.
For once it would be nice if when a fmc said they were a particular way they wouldn’t lose themselves as soon as the guys enter the scene. I have a hard time reading books with two authors because it feels like they don’t always mesh characters and storytelling well. And this proves it. This felt like an inexperienced writer wrote this- the characterization is bad, the dialogue is just so cringe and poorly executed, and the back and forth wishy washy makes for a juvenile book with adult themes. The cover is gorgeous, and the only thing it has going for it- but then again this is a book about high schoolers. No one looks like that.
I wanted to love this because I love she’s the man, I so badly wanted this to be worth it, unfortunately this was such a cringe book that even when you overlook the characterization you can’t look past the crummy characters and background story. Ford- an absolute crappy best friend who spent the past two years of his friendship listening to his best friend talk about Dylan only for him to immediately try to get with her/lock her down (and succeeds), Jacob who is saving himself for the love of his life (Dylan), but loved her so much he ghosted her when he moved away- not texting or calling or keeping in touch- but somehow Dylan saw his social page and she saw him with other girls having a good time. Then he’s a jerk to her as the captain, then acts all contrite then turns into a huge stalker- breaking into his bff’s room while they’re getting spicy. And Dylan who’s supposed to be a badass but loses herself to the first d - Idk I’m heartbroken for the idea of this book, which would’ve been so great if this book was executed properly.
What do you get when Bre and Cassie combine forces once again to bring us a hot and steamy sports romance? *drum roll*….wet panties and an unquenchable thirst for more. I have loved each co-write by these two so knew I would enjoy this book but did not realise how much.
First off can I just say THANK YOU for producing a sports romance that isn’t ice hockey. I love me a hockey romance but it feels like that’s the only sport anyone is interested in writing at the moment. It was refreshing to be immersed into a different sport, especially one i wasn’t familiar with.
Anyway, I loved Dylan. Her motivation was understandable and she wasn’t your typical FMC that has everything handed to her by the new stepdad after moving when he married her mum. When she finds out there is no girls lacrosse team she had to work hard to prove that she is just as capable of playing with the boys and boy does she do that. Score for equality right there. Her mother is clearly a piece of work not understanding her daughters passion but that’s another issue in itself. What could go wrong after securing a spot on the team to keep on track for a scholarship? Oh only the captain being your ex boyfriend who broke your heart! In fairness to Jacob, like most men, he thought he was doing the right thing but got it wrong. I loved that they didn’t immediately fall back in to each others arms. His best friend, Ford, can’t help be attracted to Dylan shooting his shot by offering to help her train to get on the team if she goes on a date with him. He for me was the MVP of this little harem, he was so sweet and I couldn’t help but root for him. Rounding off the complicated men Dylan finds herself attracted to is Matthew, the hot and cold lacrosse recruiter of the university team she is desperate to attend. Complicated enough? Oh let’s just throw in that he is also her new step brother!
I adored this book and can’t wait to see what happens next.
What a Duo Bre Rose and Cassie Lein make . To say that all my expectations are exceeded every single time I pick up one of their books truly is an understatement . All On The Field is a why choose sports romance and the first installment in ( The Out-laws Duet ) and man was it a emotional rollercoaster that just plays on your emotions in all the best ways . Dylan is our awesome FMC ( I just loved her - sassy , energetic , strong and not afraid to speak her mind - whose life gets uprooted to a new home and a new school . It’s at this school she finds out there is no women’s Lacrosse team ( which just so happens to be a passion of hers so now she has to find a way to get accepted to the guys team , , but she also gets the surprise of her life when she comes face to face with a old crush !!!! Then we have our 3 swoony guys Matthew her stepbrother who just might have not so brotherly feelings towards her and Jacob and Ford - all so captivating, so unique and very multi layered. I honestly found myself falling a little in with with each of them . That’s as much as I’m going to say because this is without a doubt one journey you seriously need to experience for yourself by simply going in with a open mind . But prepare yourself for all the feels . Because you will smile , you will laugh, you will cry and you will root so freaking hard . Angst , humor , witty banter , oh so steamy moments, heartbreaking and heartfelt, twists and turns, non stop action, drama , love , passion, family , friendships , secrets , great world building, wonderfully written characters and so much more . Just when you think you know how it’s all going to turn out everything is turned on it’s axis so expect the unexpected. Grab on tight and take the ride of your life
An enjoyable read from Rose and Lein, following Dylan and her dreams to play lacrosse for her high school team - her male high school lacrosse team. Quickly a plot that highly reminds me of She's the Man unfolds, but with lacrosse instead of football - though I understood none of the lacrosse scenes/references as I have no clue whatsoever about the sport. In saying that, I still enjoyed this as a romance book.
It's a fun read, though very predictable. There's elements of insta-love with Ford, quick forgiveness with Jacob, and pining from Matthew that honestly seemed out of place, especially with how the final chapter went down. And with Matthew, I won't lie, I got confused as I'm pretty sure there was a Matt on the lacrosse team who was being a jerk to Dylan through tryouts/trial week.
I did enjoy the development of the growing relationship between Dylan, Ford and Jacob, even if it felt very awkward and almost forced by Ford to begin with. Once the three got into the groove of things, it didn't feel too bad, but took me a while to gel with the trio. I'm interested to see how Matthew will factor into the relationship in the next book.
There are a few plot threads that I'm very curious to see unfold - the hinting at Dylan's dad, the relationship as a whole between Dylan and her mother (who is a piece of work, that's for sure) and the evolving relationship of her mother and Gideon - I just feel there's a little more to it than what we've seen so far. I'm definitely interested in what will happen in book two, and how Dylan will deal with the various repercussions of her secret lacrosse life and the relationships she has with the males in her life.
Dylan moved to a new school in her senior year because her parents got divorced. They moved in with her mom’s sister. She loved living with her aunt for the most part. Her mom was never home because she was always working or so she said. Turns out she was dating a new guy Gideon. Dylan played lacrosse at her old school and she loved it. Her new school didn’t have a girls team so she tried out for the guys team. Turns out her best friend Jacob from her old school was the team captain. When she saw him she was so mad because he moved away and they promised to keep in touch. She reached out but he never responded to her messages. She gave him a piece of her mind. He told her that if everyone agreed to let her try out then she could. They all agreed and she ended up making the team. The only stipulation was that she had to pretend to be a guy. She was totally fine with that. Dylan was asked out by Ford and she went and had a great time. Her mom told her that she was engaged to Gideon and they were going to have dinner so she could meet him and his son Matthew. They were chatting at dinner but they each didn’t want to be there so it wasn’t easy for them. Her mom told her a few weeks later that they were moving in with them in 2 weeks. This is where everything changed. Dylan was also dating Jacob’s best friend and they got really close but Jacob loved her and was given the opportunity to date her as well. They both ended up being with Dylan. I can’t wait to read the next book.
Dylan is a great FMC; she's strong-willed, independent and takes no nonsense. I don't know much about lacrosse but I loved how it was what tied all the characters together. I loved how we saw that Dylan had to put in the work to join the team and wasn't there on a technicality. She totally earned it! Ford is an absolute gem and I loved how he was all in from the start. Jacob snuck up on me too as I instantly liked him then not then circled back again; I understand what he did even if I didn't like it! Matthew however, is a whole other thing although I am enjoying how he is very much on the outside looking in as that's a more interesting dynamic.
I also really want to know the score with Dylan's dad; that's a plot thread I kept waiting to pop up later. Mum is a complete piece of work too; the whole birthday thing really left me quite sad for Dylan. I am so looking forward to the (hopefully) upcoming blow up when she finds out what Cassie has been doing.
This also has the best type of cliff-hanger and definitely leaves you wanting more; I'm looking forward to book two already!
My interpretation of the star system; 3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again 4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series 5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely and I have added all the authors works to my TBR!
I absolutely loved this book it is such a great start to an amazing new hot duet! Once I started, I devoured this book from start to finish! I was blown away by the concept of this book, the secrecy of the fmc, the storyline itself, and all-around drama and angst from the characters. You have your ex best friend, which gives enemy to lovers vibes, the exs best friend- best friend, and the stepbrother. This book shows what one girl with so much passion and dedication to something will go to to achieve that goal.
Dylan is our fmc, she just moved to a new town and a new school after her parents' divorce. Unfortunately, her new school doesn't have a female lacrosse team. So what's a girl to do? Try out for the boys' team. There, she ran into her ex best friend, the guy who left her and took her heart. Jacob wants her but thinks he was protecting her and did no wrong, which proves them to butt heads. Ford, Jacobs best friend swoops in and tries to help and ends up falling hard. After a proposal of sharing, can they all end happy together. Then we have Mathew, the stepbrother who is not only an annoyance but is a little mean and condensending to Dylan about who she really is. Once he is slapped in the face with reality, can he accept the truth , and can he accept the proposal as well?
All On The Field is the first book of The Outlaws duet by Cassie Lein and Bre Rose. This is a contemporary sports romance.
💜new school 💜 second chances 💜 lacrosse 💜 why choose 💜 🌶🌶🌶🌶 spicy spice
Dylan was forced to go to a new school when her parents decided to go through a divorce and her mom made her move. The problem with this is not really the loss of friends, but the loss of the lacrosse team she was a part of. And now this new school doesn’t have a girls lacrosse team, so she does the only thing she can do. She’s going to try out for the boys team. She has to do this. She needs to get a scholarship to go to college so she can study what she wants, play a sport she loves, and get out from under her mom’s thumb. What she doesn’t bargain for are a hot guy on the team, an old best friend she never thought she would see again, and an older guy that is the son of her mom’s boyfriend. Will she make the team? Will she be able to figure out what to do about the guys?
These two authors have come together again to knock it out of the park with a fun new duet. I haven’t read a lacrosse sports story and throughly enjoyed it. The push pull with the relationships and the team made for a great story. I can’t wait to see what happens next after the cliffhanger of an ending.
Although I lean toward college-age Romance, this High school sports Romance was well-written and had a lot of conflict and steam. Dylan moved to a new school where she learned they didn't have a women's lacrosse team. She needed to play to get a scholarship to college, so she decided to try out for the men's team. She finds out that her ex-best friend is at this school and is the team's captain. His best friend decides to help Dylan and falls for her. At the same time, Jacob kicks himself for not telling her how he felt. Her mother, in the meantime, does nothing but put her down because she likes to play lacrosse, and she has to hide the fact that she's playing at this school. The relationship between Ford, Dylan, and Jacob quickly heats up, so be prepared for it to get 🔥 🥵. Her soon-to-be Stepbrother Matthew is a jerk who could make things interesting in the next book. But I'll say this about Dylan: she was one determined and strong FMC who set out to do what she wanted to do, and even though she had a relationship with the boys, she didn't allow that to deter her from accomplishing her goal of making the team and staying on the men's team. Kudos to these authors for writing her this way.
Amazing doesn't seem like a strong enough word for this story! Unlike anything I've read and completely different than I was expecting. Dylan moves to a new town and has to try out for the boys lacrosse team since the new school doesn't have a girl's team. When she arrives, she comes face to face with her former best friend that ghosted her and his best friend that is instantly attracted to her. Coming to terms with the old feelings of rejection from one guy and the attraction she is feeling for his new best friend could make things pretty messy on the lacrosse field. Throw in the fact that even though Dylan is good enough to make the team, they hide the fact that she's a girl. Dylan has a new team, a big secret, new boyfriend and suddenly has two new boyfriends and a new step brother to deal with that stirs up something in her she can't quite wrap her head around. The throuple has plenty of steamy fun times while heating things up of the lacrosse field and keeping the secret. When more than one secret comes out at the end of this book, the twist and added potential complications leave us with quite the cliff-hanger! I'm so anxious to see what will happen in the continuation of this story in book two and I know it won't leave me wanting or disappointed!
First off, can we just say hello to a sports romance that is not hockey! Look, I like hockey, I do. I like hockey romance, especially if the chick is getting railed by more than one player. But your girl is a football girly born and raised. But this book, this book right here isn't hockey, it's not even football or baseball. It's lacrosse. Do I know anything about lacrosse? Absolutely not. And here is not me trying to rack my brain if my high school had lacrosse? anywho, I am loving this book and I'm so freaking invested. All the characters are great. Matthew, however, there better be some damn redemption coming for him or I will have words. I'm ok with never having to see Dylan's mom again. She's a T-W-AT-WAFFLE. Dylan is a sassy little FMC who takes no ish from no one. She's determined to get to Colorado and play lacrosse. She makes it onto the boys team because her new high school doesn't have a girls team. This book hits a lot of tropes. It's the friends to lovers. It's the second chance romance. There's even a hot step-brother. That's Matthew, the dill-weed in case ya didn't know. I need book 2 because I want to know what happens next! I told you. I'm invested.
Dylan and her mother just moved to a new place after her parents divorced. She was on the Lacross team at her old school. At this one, there is only a boys’ team. When she arrives for tryouts, she discovers her ex best friend is the captain and is totally against her trying out; the team votes otherwise. When Dylan’s ex friend, Jacob tells her about everything, she is in a quandary; she is dating his best friend. When it becomes the three of them things start getting interesting. Her mom drops a bombshell saying she is getting married, and they are moving in with the fiancée and his son. When the son starts getting feelings for his lil sis…things become even more complicated when he is seeking one of three-star players on the field…her! They keep her secret from all the teams, but what will happen when that secret gets out? What will happen when her step brother realizes it has been her all along? This is a fantastic read intense and full of high heat~ It is also funny reading about the step brother and him not knowing who she is! This ends in a cliffhanger…
It amazes me how seamlessly Bre and Cassie write together. They give us rich characters like Dylan, Jacob, Ford and Matthew and twist their lives together. We read of their dynamic as well as each of the kids relationships with their parents. Lacrosse is a big part of the kids lives, their ticket to a scholarship to continue in the sport they love. Dylan played at her old school but when she had to move with her mom, there is no women's team at the new school. So she tries out for the men's team. Jacob and Dylan were close friends heading to much more when he had to move. He didn't keep in touch as promised. Now they live in the same town and his best friend Ford makes his move. There are characters that I wanted to shake and ask how could you do that, and others that I cheered on. Throughout the story I felt as if I was right in the midst of the action and it was so hard to put the book down. A perfect story that gave me room to let my imagination go. And then - the Cliffy.
An A+ why choose co-write. I loves It. The FMC is Dylan whose parents have recently split. She is forced to go live with her mom which also means she has to switch schools and give up her chance at a Lacrosse scholarship because her new school doesn’t have a girls team. Dylan will have to try out for the boys team. Then to her surprise in walks her ex best friend who she has feelings for. He also was the one who moved away and left her without an explanation. Jacob doesn’t want her to join the boys team because he secretly has feelings for her and doesn’t want her to get hurt. Ford is Jacobs best friend and is attracted to Dylan also. He decides to take his shot at her because Jacob refuses to tell her how he feels. As if two guys pining over her wasn’t enough. Enter Matthew. Matthew is her mothers fiancés son. He is also the lacrosse recruiter for the school Dylan wants to attend. Three guys , all hot. Why choose? This book is a spicy why choose romance that has me wanting to play Lacrosse.
Please read the TW and make sure you are ok with them.. I didn't know what to think when I started reading this book but I am shocked...it was that good! I read it in one sitting and am not so patiently waiting for book 2 because this book does end on a cliffhanger. This book has it all, there's drama, RH, friends to lovers, MMC virgin, step siblings.. And so much more! I liked how Dylan decided she was gonna make her dreams come true and no one was stopping her. She wants to play Lacrosse but unfortunately for her, the school doesn't have a girls team. So what's a girl to do?? Ford and Jacob are both lacrosse players and both have a thing for Dylan. Ford is the new friend and Jacob is the blast from her past and she needs to choose who she likes more.. Or does she? And when you add in her soon to be step brother, Matthew.. Well she's got alot of decisions to make. Will she make the right one for her? How will each guy react to the others? 5⭐ 4🌶
I will snatch any book that this dynamic force write. Bre and Cassie are amazing authors on their own, but the creativity is a double whammy when they collaborate. This is another example of their brilliant minds. First, it's not the current popular sports romance stories with hockey and football. Instead, they went with lacrosse, which I knew nothing about, and now love. Then there's the buildup of the threesome romance, and the simmering anxiety of whether/when her stepbrother, or anyone outside of the team, will discover the truth. And of course, watching said stepbrother's attraction and denial dilemma is rather funny. All of these things lead to a cliffhanger, which leaves me wanting so much more. Can't wait to see where they take this story!
Bre and Cassie know how to write and they especially know how to write together!! This book is amazing. In the world of lacrosse (taking a break from the hockey romances I'm used to) this was a refreshing change. Dylan is working her way and proving herself, taking no crud from anyone! She is determined to make her dream come true. But she finds herself caught in a bit of a love snag when her best friend and her ex best friend both want to be a part of her life. Add in a stepbrother (who needs to grovel soon) and it's a great read with a major cliffhanger!!! I can't wait for the next one.
This book hits all the awesome tropes. Enemies to lovers, second chance, why choose and a spray little spitfire MFC.
I received this book as an ARC and this review is my own.

This is the first book in The Outlaws Duet. I love reading books by Cassie Lein and Bre Rose. So I am over the moon when I find books that they collaborated on together. This book gives me “She’s the Man “(Amanda Bynes movie) vibes and I absolutely love that. Two other things I love about this book are the second chance and the sports storyline. If you read the book (and you’ll definitely want to read this book!) then you’ll also find a taboo twist…If you know, you know! I cannot wait to read the last book in this duet “All or Nothing” to find out how this sexy, steamy and sporty duet ends! Thank you Cassie and Bre for such an incredible read! This is why you are both on my favorite authors list and your books grace my TBR list!
This was definitely a hate read, like I had to know the characters but also just couldn’t really enjoy it, I was mainly skimming it. I couldn’t tell if I liked this or not to be honest. I think I just liked the crazy from Matt and just Ford’s personality he was probably the only one I semi enjoyed. Jack brought nothing to the table besides the big o. This was about 80% smut so not a lot of depth to the story in my opinion. I did enjoy the fmc kicking butt but there didn’t seem to be any resolve with the other team mates who were rude to her in the beginning.
If you like smut this might be for you. If you want more in depth story this probably isn’t gonna do much for you.
