Minecraft: Come Together is a book written for the beginning reader. The story is about a Minecraft player who is looking for his friend Steve. It is starting to get dark. Creepers come out when it gets dark! Read along as the two friends battle the creeper! Will they be victorious?
The content of the book is meant to capture and engage young readers who love to play Minecraft in the literature experience while at the same time helping them learn how to play the game peacefully with one another. As any parent of a child who has joined with another child on Minecraft knows, learning how to play and cooperate in the game is an area that could use some reinforcement!
Each page has a picture and a line or two of text. This is the suggested format for Level 1 or beginning readers. There are discussion questions for parents to engage in with their child when they are finished reading the book.
Jessica Barnes is the mom of an awesome 5 year old boy named Jacob who LOVES Minecraft! She wrote this book because Jacob wanted a Minecraft book and she couldn't find any books out there about Minecraft for kids his age. He likes books with pictures and a few lines of text; any more than that and he becomes restless and loses interest.
Jessica is happily married to her amazing husband, Jeff. He is (thankfully) supportive of all of her harebrained schemes and ideas!
By day, Jessica teaches middle school students science and careers. She holds a Bachelor in Education and a Master Degree of Guidance and Counseling. In addition to teaching middle school, Jessica has also taught college courses for students going into the field of Education.
It is her educator/counselor background combined with her experience as a mom that gives Jessica's writing a unique mix! She desires to create children's books that foster a love for reading while at the same time encouraging positive behaviors for interacting and playing with friends.
When Jessica is not teaching or hanging out with her family and friends she enjoys: reading, scrap booking, running (or maybe it's more like jogging), being outside, going to yard sales, and finding creative ways to bless the people she loves!
