Gangsta
Gangsta is a state of mind and a state of being… Everything I do is gangsta.
Joel Knight, although the righthand of a kingpin, is a boss in his own right. Being raised by his father, who was a part of a kingpin’s inner circle, afforded him knowledge of the streets. His name is feared simply because he has followed in his father’s footsteps. He’s never known his mother and has no desire to even know who she is. Recently leaving the game behind and traveling the world, he’s determined to find out what his next steps should be. While in Puerto Rico, he takes part in what he believes is an island rendezvous. However, when he sees her two years later in Houston, she smooths out his rough demeanor and has him questioning life as it is.
I need a gangsta to always be down for me… handling me like I’m the only woman that matters.
Losing her father at a young age, Keondra Mott has learned to make things happen on her own. Observing the code of the streets from the small amount of time she had with him proves to serve her well. She’s a no-nonsense type of woman and feels like if a man can do it, so can she, especially regarding her love life. While she’s looking for love, she’s far from being desperate. She’s about her money and about experiencing the pleasures life has to offer. All that comes to a screeching halt when she reconnects with a fling from a vacation two years prior. While hiding her true emotions to guard her heart, being around him makes her weak.

Fighting the feeling is the type of time Joel is on, and Keondra doesn’t mind following suit. He doesn’t know how to accept his emotions for what they are, because he’s always had to be hard and unapproachable. Joel has a decision to make, but will he have the ability to make the right one?

3.5 ⭐️!
Soooo how did I miss this book dropping?? I found out about it from the book Passion: Arranged Hearts series and was like hold up these are characters I know but don’t know! Lol Joel aka Vegas was Jungle's right hand and played a key role in that series. Keondra aka Keke is a voice actress with some unknown trauma and secrets that reveal themselves in this book and whew! The prologue of how Vegas and Keke met was so good! Now when we get into the thick of things this couple was frustrating and honestly more so Vegas than anything. I also feel like there was a lot of drama going on, like a lot! I like that everything ties together in the end but whew there were a ton of connections to make that to me took away from Vegas and Keke. I think this was a cool read, but doesn’t break my top 5 in this series. I am glad I came back to it after reading Giselle’s story in the Arranged Hearts Series. I do recommend reading this book before starting that! Also please read the CWs at the beginning there is SA of minor mentioned and a few other traumatic events, so please check before reading!

Miss Monica! I'm so glad Vegas found his voice. What a beautifully complicated man he is! Coming up the way he did, there was no room for feelings or love, just hustlin'! When he is met with feelings head on, it terrifies him, and he runs scared.
Keondra is a force honey! I loved her no nonsense attitude, and she was not going to let Joel off the hook just cause she was feeling him. He had to come correct or not at all! Keondra made a lasting impression on Joel, making him want to change almost immediately. But he was too scared and stubborn to do so. I'm a gangsta, I ain't bout that soft ish, he thought.
These two were perfect for each other, however, their road to happiness would not be an easy one. I was so upset with Yunique for telling Keondra that ish, cause just why? But sharing that information was necessary to facilitate many other things that were on the horizon. I'm still giving Karen the 👀, cause that excuse she gave was weak as hell. If Yonkers was the man, you claimed him to be, what the hell were you afraid of? 🤬
I loved that Joel had another connection to the Berotte's as they have been the family he needed all this time. This was the story I know everyone begged for, and it was everything! Thank you. 👍🏾👍🏾

😲‼️…”There’s no Berotte Family book 15!” …yea, I actually said those words verbatim 🥴🤦🏾♀️‼️I could kick my own butt🤬🤭‼️Meanwhile, “Gangsta (The Berotte Family - Book 15)” was beyond premium! I can’t get enough of the Berotte’s & Henderson’s and all their extended family members & friends. …Vegas & KeKe welcome 🤗‼️ However, any man/gangsta’ that willfully obtains (listen to her heart’s desire) a puppy 🐶 for his lady is alright with me! …a gangsta’s girl in a Yonkers world🥰‼️

Almost makes me want a Gangsta in my life
Well we finally got a book for Vegas and it didn’t disappoint! Had me wanting a gangsta - almost. Vegas grew up without his mom so the softness, vulnerability and warmth was missing from his life experience. He knew the drug game, getting money, sex, and the streets. He didn’t trust anyone outside of his very small circle of friends because they were his only family. He didn’t know how to love - receive it or give it outside of what he witnessed from the people in his circle.
Keora was the daughter of a murdered hood legend. She knew the game and the streets. Don’t let her beauty fool you. She may have been shielded from the hood life, but she was still bout that life. She was confident and didn’t take no mess, plus she could be petty as hell. She was trying to figure out the next steps in her life when she meets Vegas.
This was one of my favorites of the series. “What you won’t do for love, You tried everything but you don't give up. In my world only you
Make me do for love what I would not do.” Willing to do a relationship, willing to date, willing to be affectionate, willing to have someone and be in someone’s space, spend time with them, express feelings, forgive, be vulnerable, love and make love. That’s all that he would do for love. Now that’s gansta!

VEGAS!!!!!!
Loved everything about these two!! They are funny, frustrating, and just as lovable as the other friends. You definitely have to be patient with them but they work at their own pace. I love the updates on all the family and friends and I love how the twist and turns come out of this book. I can’t wait to see them in the Hendersons and I hope there are more Berottes at some point!!

Love Can Change You For The Better
Vega….Joel…you never know who you are going to get but Joel is special and not available to everyone but Keondra was able to get that man! There relationship started off rocky; Vegas thought KeKe would be easy to pull into his orbit however she was not to be played with! She matched his energy! Loved it
It was great catching up with Berotte family! Hope to continue this journey.

I can read about the Berotte clan and the extended family all day long. You are doing your thing with this family and it keeps getting bigger and bigger. I love that Joel found love and has a family and a mother that loves him. This book was a banger just like all the rest. Can’t wait to see what’s next.

Gangsta.... Joel and KeKe did it for me. Vegas tried so hard not to fall, but bae Keondra swallowed him up. This story was everything I didn't know I needed. How did Monica keep up with all these characters? Lady, you are amazing 👏🏾

Vegas!!!
Monica always comes through. I didn't doubt for a minute that this wouldn't be a 5 star. I can't lie, I was sooo mad with Joel/Vegas during that therapy session, and pissed with Joshua too. However Vegas redeemed himself and I love him for Keke, she the real Gansta.

It was a pleasure reading about Joel and Kee.
This book took you on a roller coaster ride, but what a ride. That ride took them places that were unexpected. That ride was so emotional regarding hidden secrets, lies, betrayals, healing and reunion.
Anytime they at Sunday dinner, I envision teleporting because the entire family a vibe.

The Berottes
I always hate when females can't let go behind some good d&%k, (Farrah). Lol...I live that we did see a softer side of Vegas! Thus book had be all in my feels and alk emotional, but theft has been with all the Heritage books. Monica Walters is one of my favorite authors hands down and I'm looking forward to reading more from her!!!

My Gangsta!!!
Yaaaaasssss!!! We finally got to meet Vegas on a deeper level. I so appreciated this book. It was packed with so much beautifully crafted content. Even though I hate that the series is ending it was done in a great way. This is a must read for sure.

I enjoyed this book very much. The storyline was good with a few surprises. It was great catching up with all the Berotte family. I love their dynamics. As always there were lots of laughs and a few tears I do recommend this book and books by this talented author.

Monica Walters never disappoints. I really wasn’t sure how Vargas’ story would easily connect to the Berotte family.
I have to admit that she did it seamlessly.
Vegas’ story was Interesting and had some surprising twists. Vegas being a self proclaimed hard core one. Night stand kind a guy Had no problem hooking up with what he referred to as a black Barbie while out of the country, for a friend’s wedding..Problem was he couldn’t get her off his mind.
Well two years later they meet again in all places H-Town. BABE when I say from that point on Things were 🔥🔥🔥🔥and surprising. You won’t be disappointed. I’m trying not to spoil it for future readers. 🤦🏽♀️☺️
It was fun to be around the Berotte family and see how the tribe has grown. ❤️ I have throughly enjoyed every book on this series.

Absolutely Amazing Read
Vegas and Keondra were hooked from the beginning! He didn't want to admit it, but she had him after the first time. Monica came out full force in the beginning with these two!! Their chemistry was undeniable! They both had baggage but unpacked it together. That brought them closer and made them fall harder. Unpacking baggage is what brought Vegas back to his real family. Things worked out for everyone!! Monica, this read was outstanding!!

Monica, You are truly one of my favorite authors. I started my reading journey in 2021, and all your books has me hypnotized from the beginning to the end. I think I’ve read every book you’ve published and everyone has left me wanting more. I fully encourage everyone to read the Berotte Family Series; you will not regret it.

Straight Gangsra!
Keondra and Joel met in Puerto Rico but who knew that one-night of meeting would do a full circle 2 years later in Houston. Unknowing to either one there is soo much they have in common with friends and family but some history both of them will learn can be hurtful. I definitely enjoyed meeting this crew! Definitely a must read!

Definitely worth the wait for Vegas and Keondra. I almost was like Vegas don’t need a ride or die but they both needed each other. This book along with the rest of the Berotte clan is a must read. I also loved when everyone gets together and acts a fool! Truly enjoyed this book.

I love me some Vegas and the Berottes. They are a family who loves one another no matter what. Even though Vegas wasn't a Berotte, Mr. Sheldon treated him like he was. And that was Vegas needed. He needed to know how to love KeKe, and he needed to know what love looked like. Jungle, the Berottes, and KeKe did that for him.

Love this series!
This was definitely one of my favorites! It was great witnessing the evolution of both characters. I always love to see how Sheldon and Anissa brings everyone together and accept so many as their own. I feel like I know these characters… Chad’s crazy ass and all.

Now these 2? Vegas was gangsta bout everything but love. Man ran til he couldn't run any more. Cupid bit him in the bud, and he didn't know what to do with himself.
Keondra was beautiful, smart and assertive. She was ready for love and to settle down. Flipside she understood the game cause sometimes "girls are players too"! While that BDE was good, she wasn't trying to get caught up in Vegas and Joel's mixed signals.
