All I want for Christmas this year is to be able to spend more time with my son and to finally move us out of our cramped apartment. I have the perfect plan to make my holiday dreams come true. All I have to do is convince my boss I’m the right person for the manager position that’s available at the resort I work for. It finally seems like Santa is going to grant my wish, until one Jace Petersen, the owner of a national chain of sporting goods stores, walks into my life. More like literally falls on me. Worst first impression ever.
Unexpectedly, the gorgeous man, who should have been on his honeymoon, makes a fantastic second and third impression. It’s putting a big kink in my plans. You see, resort employees and guests are forbidden to mingle, but mingle we do. Not only is Jace amazing with my son, but he’s making me believe that maybe I deserve more than I’ve given myself credit for. But is he worth risking my heart and promotion for? He sure thinks so. Maybe, just maybe, I’ll let him convince me.
USA Today bestselling author Jennifer Peel presents a charming Christmas tale about finding love in the most unexpected place—a honeymoon.
Jennifer Peel is the mother of three amazing kiddos. Wife to her one and only for the past twenty-two years. Lover of late night talks, beach vacations, the mountains, pink bubble gum ice cream, tours of model homes, and southern living. She can frequently be found with her laptop on, fingers typing away, indulging in chocolate milk, and writing out the stories that are constantly swirling through her head.
Piper only has one Christmas wish this year... to get promoted to Manager at Blackstock Hotel and Resort. It means more money, better hours but most importantly it will give her more time with her adorable son, Finn. What she didn't wish for was an obnoxious guest who seems determined to make her lose her promotion.
Jace needs a break from the disaster called his life. After his wedding that never happened, he finds himself alone and miserable on his honeymoon for one at Blackstock Hotel and Resort. Who can blame him for getting drunk and being completely obnoxious to the Assistant Manager on duty?
To say Piper and Jace got off on the wrong foot would be an understatement! Who goes around yelling at people one minute and then literally falling on them and telling them they are beautiful the next minute? Can we say epic fail when it comes to this first impression?
But neither Piper nor Jace are immune to the unexplainable connection between the two of them. How can this be happening now? And why is this happening now? With her promotion hanging in the balance, the health of her high school mentor, Miss Anna Cate, deteriorating and proving to the world that she is not a failure, there is just no time for the added distraction of Jace.
But Jace has never met anyone like Piper before. She is feisty, speaks her mind and can fix cars like a boss. He would be a complete idiot to let her slip through his hands. All I can say is that Jace will definitely have his work cut out for him! But he is bound and determined to show her that his first impression is not the real him.
Can Piper overcome her insecurities and take a leap of faith? Can Jace get her to see that she's been selling herself short and that there's more to her than even she realizes? And most importantly will these two finally get the HEA that they both deserve?
*dreamy sigh*
How can I express how much I loved this book?! It was seriously the perfect read for me! I fell in love with Piper, Jace and the adorable Finn from the very beginning! The bantering back and forth, the antics of Finn, the cameo appearances by some of my favorite characters, the legos and lightsabers... it was all AMAZING! Once I finished reading it, I was ready to pick it back up and read it all over again! It was THAT good!
This should come as no surprise that Jennifer Peel has done it again! She sucked me in from the very first page and kept me up way past my bedtime finishing the book! Oh how I loved Honeymoon for One! It's the perfect read for any season!
And now... can we just take a minute to admire these two?! I think they make the perfect Piper and Jace! I'm in love! What do you think?!
Oh my gosh! This was so cute!! Piper is a single mom who's a manager at a hotel. She works and spends time with her little boy Finn and her parents every chance she gets!! Then there is Jace, coming to stay in the honeymoon suite... drunk and without his other half! These two were meant for each other. She's hesitant on love and wants to protect her son and herself from being hurt! All he wants to do is to get her to like him and give him a chance!!! So cute!!! Pick this one up!!
Piper and Jace's first meeting is about as far from a meet-cute as you can get and Jace makes a terrible first impression--drunk as a skunk and demanding a different room at the completely booked Blackstock Hotel and Resort. Lucky for him Piper is understanding and doesn't hold it against him--the man was left at the altar by his fiancée, of course he doesn't want to stay in the honeymoon suite.
Piper is the assistant manager at Blackstone Hotel and Resort looking to become the next manager. Being a single mom to an adorable little boy, she could use the boost in salary, and can't afford to have anything derail her much needed promotion--especially not handsome and determined Jace Petersen.
These two have immediate chemistry and I love that Jace wasn't afraid to show his feelings for Piper. I loved all their interactions--they gave me all kinds of swoony feelings. I loved the way Jace showed he cared for Piper and Finn. Oh, and Jace and Finn together is pure gold!! I found the part of the story about Miss Anna Cate sweet and heart-warming.
I originally read this six years ago when it was a novella and part of a series about Christmas Falls. I love that now it's a book all on it's own and has added content. This time I listened to the audiobook and thought the narrator, Stephanie Rose did a wonderful job with the voices and getting the emotions of the book across.
This was a cute holiday romance, some funny banter, flirting, no steam, but the connection was built. Age Gap:38M and 26F Divorced single mom Groom with no bride Work drama (for her) He falls first HEA
Holiday Honeymoon For One: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ No spice, but steamy kisses
After her ex walked out on her and her son, Piper has had a no-man policy in their lives. It helps that she is extremely busy convincing her boss that she is worthy of the promotion she applied to. When an extremely handsome, extremely drunk man shows up to check in to her hotel for his honeymoon for one, demanding a room other than the honeymoon suite. Piper feels bad, but pastes on her customer service smile to stop him from making a scene. But, first impressions can be changed and Jace, is determined to have her change her mind about him. Will Piper give him a chance and let him enter her heart, or will she stand firm on her no-man policy?
This was such a cute book!! I love Piper’s take charge and independent attitude. Jace was just a little pushy for me, but he made up for it eventually. I love the journey that Piper goes on, and the lessons she has learned through her difficult journey. The storyline while pretty cheesy, was perfect for my mood and for the holiday season. If you’re looking for a book similar to a Hallmark movie, read this book!!
This novella was super cute! I was able to read it in one sitting.
I liked the push and pull between Piper and Jace. Piper was put in a lot of tough situations and Jace really helped her learn that it was okay to want more.
Favorite parts: -Jace meeting Finn for the first time and all that. -Jace finding ways to make proximity happen with Piper -Piper’s relationships and how those changed and grew. -Piper’s parents.
Favorite Quotes “You look tired.” “Thank you.” “That was out of concern. We both know I think you’re beautiful.” I was surprised he remembered saying it. “Drunk compliments don’t count.” He paused, unsure. “You’re beautiful.”
“I think it’s high time that you’re reminded how magical life can be.”
This is a novella with the INSTA-love trope. And I mean REALLY insta-love.
The MMC shows up on his honeymoon alone and is a big ol' @$$ the first time we meet him. After he sobers up the next day, he instantly falls in love with the manager of the resort he's at. Seriously? And he has CHOCOLATE BROWN eyes, which you will hear about several times...
I am convinced that Jennifer Peel simply cannot write a bad book. Her characters are always top notch and her stories never miss. She brings real life, relatable situations onto the page and makes every emotion feel genuine and lived in. I absolutely adored watching Piper and Jace's romance grow, and my heart melted every time Jace bonded with her precious son. This was such a cute, sweet holiday story that filled me with joy. A perfect cozy read!
I enjoyed this one until the very last scene... really? Proposing 2 months after you broke up with someone else? Not cool dude. Not cool. This was a no-spice, sweet romance. But there is a bit of a power imbalance? Jace is a little demanding and pushy, but yeah, he's good with Finn. However, wait a bit before you propose...

I've read several books where the bride takes her honeymoon even though the wedding doesn't happen. This is the first book with the guy taking the honeymoon. I only wish we had the POV of both Jace and Piper. I'd love to know his POV! It would even have been fun if Finn got a chapter or two. Another wonderful book by Jennifer Peel.
Piper has one goal this year. To do such a bang up job that she gets promoted to be manager at Blackstock hotel and resort. Not only will it be more money but it’ll give her more time with her son, Finn.
What she doesn’t expect is to encounter Jace. Jace has come to Blackstock to enjoy his honeymoon… Alone… After being dumped by his fiancé.
After getting off on the longest foot possible, it appears these two will be each other’s undoing. And yet they are drawn to each other despite the drama, they seem to create.
I’m not sure I can truly express how much I love this book. It was such a fun read. I loved the banter and the playfulness. I loved watching Chase not only with Piper but with Finn. And yes, there was definitely some tension as they were pushing the limits of what she was allowed as in employee of the resort and he has a guest. But it was worth it all!
Perfect book to start the holiday season. I would re-read it next year for the Christmas season. This was cute and not spicy in the least, perfect for any reader regardless of age. Basically if a Hallmark Christmas movie was a book, but better, it would be this book. Absolutely a recommend from me. From one book nerd/ book dragon to another, happy reading!
It was cute story (wish meeting a guy was always as easy as meeting Jase), but it really didn’t feel very Christmasy until the end. And the side story of the long lost best friend seemed unnecessary.
There has not been a Jennifer Peel book I have not loved. This one was adorable and although I was worried this book would be instalove- which is my least favorite, somehow Jennifer made it work. Such a feel good, happy ending that was adorable!!
4 ⭐️ for another sweet, clean Christmas romance! I don’t know why it’s rated lower and maybe my expectations are too low lately with all the holiday rom-coms but I don’t think so.
