I read Leah's Amish Dilemma(Amish of Cedar Creek) by Sadie Weaver through the Kindle Unlimited program. This was a quick easy read. I enjoy reading Amish stories having grown up going to Laccaster,Pennsylvania. Will definitely be reading more bycthis author.
This short story has great lessons about relationship told in the entertaining, Amish way people of plain speech embrace. Unfortunately, one of the besetting sins most communities have is the sin of wagging tongues-gossip! And it is plain Jacob gets a wake up call and wonders if it's true and too look late. Weaver brings the reader along to witness the pangs of young adulthood as they navigate life long decisions. This is a good story, well written for all ages that is wholesome and ends nicely with an HEA. Why not 5 stars? It could've rated it but if I don't keep it on my kindle it can't get 5 stars. But you might easily give Weaver's book that reading. Enjoy!
Leah and Jacob are courting but Leah feels like Jacob spends more time in their Amish community helping others instead of making time for her. When her friends Rachel and Isaac come back from their rumspringa Leah feels she might have missed out on English experiences as she chose to stay in the community. It’s nice to see what a good friend Rachel was to Leah. There were consequences of some gossiping members of the community. Leah and Jacob had to work on their communication, relationship and priorities. Not taking others for granted was an important lesson learned as well. A quick read Amish novella with a sweet hea.
Sometimes jealousey brings harmful endivers if you don't fully understand the situation as in Leah's and Jacob relationship. I especially loved the way Jacob asked her to to be his wife. This was a beautiful well written book. Thank you so much to the author Sadie Weaver.
Oh when your young you look at things differently and you do not always take others feeling to thought until words get around and then things seem different it is committed and communication that changed and all ends well enjoy
A simple, sweet ,not indebth story. Nice characters. I prefer a stronger more detailed story. I recommend this book for young teens. It’s clean, wholesome and not too challenging.
Leah was courting with Jacob but he had gotten so involved with being all he could be to everyone else. Leah wasn't happy but didn't say anything to Jacob. Would she be better off with another or should she stay with Jacob. GB CV
I loved the character development. Personality does not alter drastically; however, it can change over time. The author gently leads the reader as the characters grow.
Finished it in under two hours. Interesting to try reading a new sub-genre of romance, especially since I hadn’t really known about it until recently. Definitely wholesome.
