'WASTE MY TIME' is Easton and Kennedy’s book, spoken in 'dual perspectives' and is the last book of the North Haven University series.
I don't want to go into this review too much because it's one where I think you need to go in blind so for that very reason this will be as spoiler free as I can make it.
As we'd seen in the previous book Easton had overcome so much, from his addiction to fighting his demons, but can he overcome a relationship that's crashing down around him day by day?
A break up which was on the cards..
I wasn't sure if they could get back to how they were, I couldn't put it down, I needed to know what the outcome was going to be, this was like watching a table tennis match play out in front of me, with the push and pull, the too and fro that occurred had me chasing that angsty feeling like a woman on crack. It was raw, real, and so heartbreaking at times.
Easton is floundering, trying everything in his power to make things right, to try and fix what is broken. But Kennedy is hurting and isn't going to let him off the hook so easily. He has a lot to prove.
Then I was hit with the feels and they kept me in their grip until the very end. This was the perfect ending to the perfect series and I'm so excited to see what books we see from this author in the future. But throughout his intentions are pure and come from the heart..
Waste My Time closes the NHU series and tells the story of Easton and Kennedy. What to expect before diving in: - surprise pregnancy - second chance romance - damaged hero - some OM drama but not a love triangle - some OW drama but no cheating - high angst level - some suspense - a lot of grovelling
At the end of the previous book Easton and Kennedy were broken up and Kennedy discovered she was pregnant. This book pics up a bit before that, sets up the context to why these have broken up and how they handle the pregnancy while still in college. Easton loves Kennedy but, due to past trauma he's aloof and takes Kennedy for granted until she says no more. He confides in his ex, Tessa, instead of Kennedy. After they break up, one of Kennedy's old childhood friends comes along and stirs up some trouble. There is a lot of drama and angst in this book, a bit too much for me. It's a book about 2 people in love with each other that make a lot of mistakes, as young people do, don't communicate enough and let their fears run their lives. It's also a book about finding your way back to love through friendship. Easton and Kennedy first got together at a college party and their relationship was a bit of balance. Until they got to first be friends and share responsabilities together, they didn't have a solid base. I liked the relationships between the various characters from the series. The book reads like a movie in a sort, with a lot of dialogue. There are a lot if short scenes than I felt cut some of the flow of the story. The ending was great. I liked the sense of hope and unity this books/this series gives. And the epilogue... intriguing!

I just had to give up. Tess was probably the worst character that this author has ever written. She was awful to her friends and family, she cheated on her love interest with the books main character. Then she took a bunch of pills to forget and everyone babied her because right one childhood trauma. The entire first 33% of this book (where I had to just give up) was an ode to Tessa. She’s made out to be this amazing person, which she isn’t. She got the best HEA out of any of of these books. Her bf was loyal and true to her even while she was out doing her ex boyfriend. Then everyone (including Easton) blames Easton for her problems. I just can’t anymore. Ifs bad enough that she even wrote the pile of trash that is Tessa’s story, but I still can’t get away from that cheating hoebag here! Good luck with this book.
WASTE MY TIME is the latest installment in the North Haven University series and follows Kennedy and Easton and their love story with more lows than highs until their happy ending.
Easton Donovan believes that he's screwed and the ghosts of his past don't let him move on, and that's why now he's about to lose the only thing that has made him happy in the last time; Kennedy Lehight. Kennedy had her sight on Easton from the get-go; He was handsome, funny and charming, but a casual relationship with him ended up being the worst of her pains, always feeling second plate. Now Easton doesn't want to open up to her, so maybe it's time to finalley let him go, even if they are bonded for life.
This was one of my most anticipated books for this month because Kennedy and Easton and their messy -sometimes toxic- relationship had me in a chokehold since the first book! This book starts out with a lot of angst, that I was waiting for and it really was my favorite part of it; Kennedy is done, she can no longer have a relationship that makes her suffer, but at the same time she doesn't know how to leave someone she loves so much. Easton loves Kennedy, but he doesn't know how to let go of the traumas of his past in order to be happy with her, without his darkness tainting her. It seems like a dead end.
The second part is more about Easton groveling and them re-finding their way together, but it also brings in a new character that wreaks havoc between them, and that was my biggest problem with this book. I had really high expectations for this and thought of a lot of ways this book could end up playing out, but I wasn't expecting THAT. Somehow that character coming out of nowhere made this book feel a bit shallow and unbelievable to me, and the suspense at the end was not at all surprising reading the other books, but unnecessary.
Overall this was a good series to binge read, with the second installment being my favorite and Kennedy and Paige being my favorite female characters.
When the heroine know at 4% that the man she’s in love with isn’t in love with her and refuses to commit, AND SHE STAYS (knowing it will slowly destroy her)…well, I don’t have time for that shit.

i don’t know why i started this i think i was just bored i didn’t even read more than 73 pages but it was enough for me to understand that EASTON IS A FUCKING WHORE this man was giving heart eyes to his ex gf while being in a relationship he hung out with her behind his gf’s back and when she found out he was like nooo you cant leave meee but i didnt cheaaattt LIKE OMG FUCK YOU? he managed to meet with her AGAIN after his gf literally broke up with him a few hours ago i have never seen a such a shameless person in my life there is clearly something very wrong with him and believe me whatever “trauma” he has been through is not the only problem . he is so pathetic also there was no mention of his mother anywhere so i have come to the conclusion that after seeing his stupid little face the day he was born his mother regretted all her life decisions started throwing up bc she used to be a pro-life and then left him in a trash and the people who found and saved him now hate themselves for letting this pixie dust son of a bitch live. he is just not a real man but you know who would never do this? yanki sarca
I love books with the surprise pregnancy trope but this one was meh the hero and heroine were separate until the end of the book and the best part was the epilogue which wasn’t even about them.
Kelsey has undoubtedly saved her best North Haven story for the last! Deliciously angsty, emotionally riveting, and addictively dramatic, Waste My Time is a beautiful story about forgiveness, acceptance, and healing- and the perfect, full circle conclusion to a world full of characters I won't ever let go.
Of all the characters Kelsey has written, Easton was the one whose story I wanted the most. We’ve seen this character at his worst and at his best- loved him and hated him, watched him do amazing and horrible things, have seen the tragic beauty of his demise and recovery. But we only got to see it from afar- through others eyes, and I wanted to be inside his heart. I wanted to understand just what made Easton who he is, how he was coping- the REAL Easton, not the Easton he let others see. He was the character who most needed, most deserved, the opportunity to redeem himself and grow. We’ve seen him for two series now, the impact he’s had on others in multiple books, and NOW we get his book- and I’m so grateful that Kelsey decided to give us his journey, because his is the most compelling of all, because he’s had to fight himself from the bring of self destruction more than once. He’s come the farthest, changed the most of anyone.
North Haven has been about growing up- about the teens we loved become adults we start to admire. It is about responsibility, self-acceptance, persona; growth- and what better way to thrust these baby adults into true maturity than giving them the most adult life change of all- making them parents. As if that isn’t challenging enough for two college students, Easton and Kennedy who were once pretty solid are now on rocky ground. The sweet and patient Kennedy has had enough of waiting for Easton to invest in her the way she’s invested in him- after multiple years of loving him, supporting him, giving her all, she’s forcing them to finally confront their baggage- both Easton’s with Tessa, and her own insecurities as it relates to his seeming fixation with his first love. Their relationship is already crumbling, they make mistakes big and small, and now they’re trying to figure out how to move forward. But they just can’t seem to get on the same page at the same time- so much angst, so much push pull. And loads of expected and unexpected drama.
I LOVED Easton so hard. While I wanted to dig a bit more into past Easton, I realized that we didn’t need to- because what he needs to do is confront PRESENT Easton, the man hurting the girl he needs, all because he has unresolved trauma with the girl he once wanted. I loved watching him own up to his mistakes, doing the real emotional and relational work he needed to heal himself and heal his fragile relationship with Kennedy. He was so endearing, so lovable, so vulnerable - and his character journey from when we first met him to now? Well this is exactly what this series is about. Easton has grown up- he’s maturing. Learning that to be worthy, he has to believe in his worth. And Kennedy is a beautiful soul- a quieter and less “flashy” heroine, which is probably why I like her the best- she’s grounded, loving, gentle and kind. But she also finds her backbone in this book, and while I wanted her to forgive Easton faster, I recognized that that was HER journey- learning to demand what she needs.
What I loved most about this finale is that for the most part the conflict was internal. We had some unexpected (and perhaps not even needed) external drama, but in the end- this is all about a man’s battle with himself. And the woman who is patient enough to let him fight that fight, even if she has to step away from him to make him do it. I loved how emotionally introspective this was, how intimate it felt- this didn’t feel circumstantial, it felt existential. The best and most poignant demonstration of this series’ themes.
This whole series has been about identity and maturity- and the soapy teenagers we've grown to love are all grown up now, secure in themselves and finally finding their way. Watching them grow up has been such a beautiful and complicated journey, but watching them grow together has been the most rewarding. Because this has also been a series about the formation of the most unexpected but unbreakable chosen family unit- the unlikely friendships that have solidified and deepened despite challenging beginnings and unimaginable adversity. Not only have they learned to stand on their own two feet, proud in who they are as individuals, but they've also learned to stand with and care for each other. I could not love this family more- and as sad as I am to see them go, Kelsey gave them the most beautiful conclusion. I cried multiple times at the ending with the sweet and heartfelt nostalgic touches that Kelsey incorporated to give multiple characters closure and a chance to shine.
And that epilogue?! COME ON KELSEY- how could you do that to us?!!! Needless to say, I am desperate to know more.
𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐓𝐀𝐊𝐄: A perfect end to my beloved highschool Romance series. Author Clayton has a way of creating characters which borrowed in you heart and refused to let go. Kennedy and Easton are no exception...I was so invested in their storyline from the start even in the previous books I feel like their characters gave out an intriguing vibes.
Kennedy and Easton have a way making us root for them even if they do frustrating things. Just a simple understanding takes the lane of their life in a difficult path. But as fate said it, they were meant to be. An amazing couple through which we said our good byes to this series....seriously Every book in this series is one of a kind...blurb is enough to get you in and then comes the twists which we all crave for...
If you haven't start this series yet then believe me...you are missing out on whole new amazing world...GO FOR IT!!! The series is completed...so you cliffhanger phobic??? The stage is yours...read this one...100% recommended.
I read this book after reading Carter’s story because he took boyfriend book to a whole new level. However I was severely disappointed with Easton. Every time he has a redeeming moment it was quite literally ruined. When he finally tells Kennedy about the nightmares he then proceeds to lie about Alec. He never gains her trust back the way he should and he never is emotionally vulnerable with her when he has so many opportunities to be. Why does his inner monologue call her the love of his life but he never says it TO her? He hardly tells her he loves her at all actually. Even during his second pathetic proposal the first thing out of his mouth is his exes name and in what way he loves her!?! Why doesn’t he ever tell her he’s over her? Or that he isn’t in love with her anymore? It legit never happens and Kennedy deserves so much better. It was one step forward a million steps back with this character the whole book. Kennedy being strong makes up for it a little bit which is why I gave it two but I’m so sad that Easton never got his deserved storyline. His character was ruined for me. Not to mention he refuses to see a therapist and red flags are never addressed such as him not being able to face Kennedy during intimate moments and her hair color needing to match his exes? Way too much Tess in this book considering it wasn’t hers. She forgives him in the end VERY quickly with very little groveling. Just gets married on a whim after months of him not even trying to kiss her. If he had spent the rest of the book with ONLY good moments it would’ve been understandable.
I recommend reading the other books in the series if you’re looking for a good MC.

the male protagonist is just stupid and doesn't care about the heroine's feelings. he LITERALLY knows how insecure it makes her when he hangs out with his ex BUT DOESN'T STOP. and while hanging out with her i got the vibe that he doesn't even feel any remorse in regard to how he is with kennedy, like ????? also, he tries to make up some bullshit excuse, that tessa is his therapist or something and then he admits THAT SHE DOESN'T HELP HIM AT ALL, again ???? i honestly would have hoped for a different ending, she deserves better. i usually like the pregnancy trope, but not in this case where easton is just one big entitled asshole

Title is too appropriate. Easton is immature and I did not want Kennedy to take him back. His love for Tessa is much more convincing than his love for Kennedy. RUN
I'm kind of sad that this series is coming to an end after I spent so much time in the company of this amazing bunch and into their world after so many stories!!! I'm going to miss these guys, but I'm ready for whatever Kelsey will throw my way... And I'm holding some hope for more after this epilogue!!! But let me focus on Easton and Kennedy...
"I'm not the reason we failed, Easton, because if it were up to me , we would have made it."
In the previous books of the series, we have seen so much by this couple, especially from Easton... Easton is a hot mess... and he has lots of demons who are stopping him from giving fully his heart on Kennedy. And after two years that these two are together, this is a big problem for Kennedy and a deal breaker... So their ending is nearing by and even though they are seeing it coming, it's impossible for them to realize its impact to their lives...
"I'm going to lose her. I can feel it."
Honestly, I don't know what to say about this story... This was the beginning of the end for them, but there is something that bounds them together... Will Easton manage to break free from his past and give himself fully to Kennedy??? Will Kennedy forgive all of Easton's mistakes or is it about time to start loving herself more??? The only sure thing is that these two have a long road ahead of them full of heartbreak and misunderstanding...
"I was always second choice..."
To be totally honest with you, Easton wasn't always my favorite... In the past, he made questionable decisions and these facts made me dislike him a little bit... But in here, I understood him better and I saw a better version of himself. Don't fool yourselves!!! He kept doing wrong moves all the time and I just wanted to smack him upside down from time to time, but when he realized what was important for him, he gave his all and I love him for that reason!!!
"I'm a monster who does nothing but break everything I touch."
As for Kennedy??? Well, I liked this girl before and she was really good for Easton, but from time to time in here, she was making me so angry with all her assumptions and misunderstandings... Yes, I can understand her in a way, but sometimes I was feeling that she were a little bit absurb. Still... her love for Easton never stopped shining brightly through the cracks and even though she was heartbroken, she never gave up fully on him...
"I think a part of me is always going to love you. But right now, I need to love myself more."
I loved this couple!!! I loved their journey, even though it was paved with heartbreak... I liked how things turned out between them and I loved the twist that Kelsey added in here!!! I'm really going to miss this bunch... These characters and their stories had given me so many beautiful moments!!!
"It's you. The answer to any choice is always you."
**I received an ARC for the exchange of an honest review**
Okay, you know who I *really* disliked in this book?
Amelia.
I read hers and Zayn’s book aaages ago so don’t remember much about if I liked her or not. But that chick seriously has no boundaries. She’s literally like a child constantly throwing tantrums - when Kennedy says she’s moving back to Texas so she has her parents support while she continues going to college, Amelia loses her shit. The selfishness of this chick know no bounds because who cares about Kennedy’s education and need for a support system that isn’t a bunch of 20 year olds amiright?
Also.... Tessa sucks as well.
Apparently not an unpopular sentiment given Tessa’s stand-alone had her cheating on Easton to be with Asher.
Anyways, my issue with Tessa is that I’m convinced she’s an attention whore. She may not want Easton in *that* way but she sure as fuck has no qualms about being the third person in his relationship. Don’t get me wrong, that’s certainly not her problem per se but for someone who’s supposedly a budding counsellor, I expected her to lay it out for Easton that their friendship obviously made his missus uncomfortable and suggest that she step back so he and Kennedy could figure things out. That is what he kept going to her for, right? Advice? Well where is the fucking advice, Tessa?
And although Easton fixes it by “choosing” Kennedy and telling Tessa he can’t be her friend anymore, I honestly didn’t feel like he was reflective enough about what he did wrong. He constantly only chose Kennedy in time where he didn’t have much choice — first it was because she was leaving, then because she’s pregnant, then because he got caught with coke. It’s not ‘trust’ if circumstance is forcing him to open up to Kennedy and she fucking deserved better.
Waste My Time is Easton and Kennedy’s book, and the last book of the North Haven University series! I have been anticipating this book since we’ve been introduced to Easton’s character, and ESPECIALLY since the ending of the last one.
Kelsey Clayton never misses in writing characters that are absolutely flawed yet fight to keep going and become better. Easton and Kennedy’s story destroyed me. It was an emotional rollercoaster that was honestly worth it in the end. Both characters go through a lot and even when the battle seems like it’s a huge loss, they never give up. I always say that many character’s surprise me but Kennedy’s character is just on another level. I admire her strength and her ability to see the good in people. She’s everything I love in a character. Kennedy was written really well and I couldn’t help but love her!! Moreover, Easton is just…wow. It’s crazy to me how well his character has developed throughout the books. We get glimpses of him in the previous books but now we finally get his pov and his emotions on what’s happening around him, to him. His character development is definitely one of the things I liked about this book.
Plot wise I genuinely enjoyed it. It was interesting and had me on the edge of my seat. So many moments with strong emotions between both characters which I loved. Like most stories there are happy moments and sad ones but I think that’s something that makes the ending even more worth it. Easton and Kennedy go through heartbreak and happiness, but also growth.
Overall, Waste My Time is the perfect ending to a series filled with great moments, deep emotions, and memorable friendships. It’s bittersweet and I will miss these characters!
Ok I tried, I really did but I'm calling it quits. I almost made but that twist around 80-85% did me in... just so unbelievable and random. Im still not sure what the point was. Plus Kennedy all of a sudden being friends with Tessa( ironic i know🙄) just didn't jive with the story either
Plot Summary : Easton knows the pain of being in love. He knows what it is to lose the person you love to someone else. What he doesn't know is how to put himself through all that again. Kennedy is the one person whom he loves now but his demons of the past made him destroy the girl. She is everything he does not deserve and now it might be too late to make her see the truth of his words.
Kennedy has been in love with Easton since the moment she saw him for the first time. But she knows now that he never felt the same. She knows what it feels like to be broken by him and there is no way she is letting him do that to her again.
Overall Opinion : I have been waiting for this book for like ever! Ever since I got a whiff of this couple , I knew it was going to be one hell of a story because of Easton's past. And so it was! I loved Kennedy and Easton so much. They finally have the HEA they always deserved even though the path was not easy.
The storyline was amazing with a few shocking twists that I loved and all they did was to add more angst to the story. The ending was perfect and I am so heartbroken to see these characters go!! They are the best and I love them so much.
I would definitely recommend this book to all the second chance contemporary romance loving people!
Waste My Time is the latest book in the North Haven University series and tells the story of Easton and Kennedy. I've been looking forward to Easton's story ever since he appeared on another series, and I think the end of that series couldn't have been with another character.
The story here is a bit cliché, I won't go into details, but for those who read the last book in this series, you know what these characters expected. Here we see these characters navigating the "Unexpected Surprise", all the while having to see if there was a new chance for both of them. Easton is a character who was constantly struggling with his demons and the past, and it was cool to see him find his way. Kennedy, on the other hand, proved to be a strong and perfect character for Easton.
I thought this book was a little more than anguish , but for those readers who would like Easton 's story I think this book brings a satisfying ending to this character and comes full circle to this series . ➖➖➖ Waste my Time é o último livro da série North Haven University e vem contar a história Easton e Kennedy.
Our boy Easton finally gets his hard-earned happily ever after. Sometimes you have to lose everything before you realize you already had it all.
Easton had Kennedy. She loved him completely but he never truly let her in. Once she realizes he betrayed her by keeping secrets, she is done. She knows she deserves someone who will love her completely.
Easton is troubled by the ghosts of his past. Everyone else has moved past it, but he can’t forgive himself. He self-sabotages to punish himself. However, once he loses her, he realizes his mistake because he can’t live without her.
Kennedy is ready to move on until she discovers a life-changing surprise. Now she has to concentrate on finishing school and figure out what’s next.
Easton ruined what they had, but he’s ready to fight for her. It’s time to face his demons and become the man she needs. It will be an uphill battle, but he’s all in.
This was a heart-wrenching love story. Broken apart and then fighting their way back. The journey was hard and full of tears. So much heartache and a lot of growing up and accepting responsibility. Obstacles are thrown in their path, but they are stronger than they know. The love they share is worth the fight.
The North Haven crew comes full circle. As all their love stories evolve, we’ll be celebrating engagements, marriages and whatever comes next. These characters are some of my favorites and I loved baring witness as they each found true love. A binge-worthy series!!!
Waste My Time is the 4th installment in Kelsey Clayton’s Northhaven University series. It could be read as a standalone, Kelsey does a good job filling in any relevant blanks, but it’s best read and enjoyed in order after the other books in the series.
What a fantastic, angsty ride it’s been! I typically stay away from angsty read, because I feel like a lot of it can be drama for the sake of drama, but Kelsey Clayton always get’s it right for me! I get a good, honest tearjerker and know it’s all going to be worth it in the end and Waste My Time was definitely not an exception to the rule. Total emotional rollercoaster ride. The storyline was fantastic, the book, well written with no obvious lags. The characters are just wonderful. These are characters you feel you’ve become friends with over the last two series. By the time you finish, you’re completely invested in their happiness. Easton wasn’t a fool for the sake of being a fool. Legitimate trauma that makes you feel for him at the same time you want to shake him for making foolish choices. Kennedy is his perfect compliment and her strength makes him a better man. I loved how we got to see so many friends from the other books stopping by to support the two of them ❤️. I’d say, I can’t wait to see where Kelsey goes for her next series, but oooooh!!! That epilogue was a great hint! Gahhhh!! Can’t wait!!
Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Trope: Second chance Angst: 😰😰😰😰 Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Triggers: past drug use
I swear and I apologize to the author for my words. But this is the worst book I’ve read. I don’t understand how they could just love each other so much and have trust, and then have it be broken over assumptions and miscommunication. I swear I don’t even know how they fell in love. First of all, she got pregnant and I swear to god Easton is such an a-hole. They didn’t know how to talk and explain to each other what happened and were too stubborn to listen. I whole heartedly understand the importance of a relationship but there’s absolutely none in this book. Then we have crazy guy over here obsessing over her since his childhood and wanting to shoot a gun at her. When did he even come into the picture to be able to be obsessive?? Like the plot was made up of different storylines to make it seem like a good, intriguing book when in fact it wasn’t. I’m sorry that people might appreciate this book but I would want an honest review. In my opinion, they had no love and no chemistry. At the beginning, they were using each other and having hate sex while in the middle it was like banter and going back and forth ‘oh my god he’s so sweet’ and ‘I miss her’. Obviously they both didn’t, they just liked the idea of each other.

I do not like the way Tess is portrayed here, like wtf ? Is she some kind of goddess or something. The way everyone and even the author glorifies this woman, its cringy and disgusting. The way Kennedy keep going back to her to get help for Easton, its weird. This one dialogue Tess said “Because I'm not the closest person to him anymore” and “ I'm here and I'm watching from the sidelines. But he's your future now, not mine”, what the fuck is this ? Easton is not a person who can handle his emotions and actions ? Tess is the mentor for Kennedy to learn anything about Easton ? Its like Tess is passing him up to the next person since he doesnt want her anymore. What the actual fuck ? The way everyone is treating Tess as if she is the only one in Easton life , goddamn its disgusting. The way she is glorified in this book, i dont like it. The “baddie” and “best” as if that makes the character the most interesting. Oh god , its whole ass rant here. Crazy.

What a bittersweet ending to this amazing series! Man oh man did Kelsey save the best for last ! This series was my introduction to this author I’ve been highly invested in these characters since the beginning to see Easton redeem himself and him and Kennedy finally get their HEA they both so deserves was just everything! Omg that epilogue was amazing! This author has without a doubt became a favorite must read one clicker of mine everything I’ve read by her is gold . Can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next!
