3 Entertaining Stars!!!

Before I start my review, I need to stress that I don't think this book was meant to be funny. But unfortunately because of the execution, it was in fact rather funny at times.

I'm actually not sure where to start, this story was hilarious, creepy and uncomfortable to read. Let start with a brief summary of the most prominent characters. Please pay special attention to the names. This is my expression when I read them.

Characters:

Main Characters:
Jake/Gator - Hero/Anti-hero
Description: Hitman/goon whatever you want to call him, he's tough as nails and takes no crap from anyone! He hate people in general, well until he sees Idget Gidget and decides to keep her for himself.

"Say you're mine." I demand too strongly, but she doesn't flinch.
"You're mine."
"Close enough.

Now in a normal situation I would be swooning all over the place,but... Look he wanted her, unfortunately she isn't very well. She's a 13 year old stuck in a grown woman's body. You need to leave her alone, this is some sort of f*cked up pedophile behaviour.

Gator consistently want to screw the heroines brains out throught the entire book, even though he feels bad he refuses to let her go! Because she's his...

I'm not going to quote here, but he imagines taking her on any available surface many a time!

Idget-Gidget/Mia -Heroine
Description:Forced into prostitution by her good for nothing father. Suffered brain damage at the age of 13, when a "client" obsessed with asphyxiation deprived her of air for too long.
Mentally distraught, suffered a miscarriage. Carries around a baby doll with a blanket to fill the void. In essence, heroine is a 13 year old in a grown woman's body...

I can't possibly find fault with the heroine in this book, she was completely helpless. All she new was a life spent serving clients on her back. Obviously she;s going to fall in love with the first guy that comes along and takes her away from the situation, hey what would you choose? Service many or just one?

I found myself laughing in some situations and then uncomfortable in others.

Supporting Characters:
Rodent - Heroines father
Flame - Hero's mentor

I didn't find any of the sex scenea hot, none at all. I couldn't stop thinking of the heroine as a 13 year old girl. Here's the thing some of the situations I found bloody hilarious, and some just plain odd and creepy, mainly the sex scenes

Hence this gif, my mantra while reading this book was a combination of full on belly laughs and WHAT THE F*CKS

Finally: 3 Stars for entertainment and 1 star for an incorrectly executed plot.

absolutely random gif, but whatever!

2.5 AMUSING BUT CREEPY STARS

This is my first Bijou Hunter book and though I don’t regret reading it, the writing style is somewhat…odd. I felt like the author didn’t mean for certain things to be entertaining and funny, but because of the weak execution of events, I did indeed find almost everything to be highly amusing and the sex scenes came off as creepy and pedophilic in nature. It could be that the short length of the story was a factor for the undeveloped characters and plot, but I just don’t know.

description

The book begins with merciless and trained assassin Gator who is ordered to kill Mia and her rat bastard of a father. On first glance, Gator has this primal need to make Mia his so he doesn’t kill her, just her dad. The story then progresses with how Gator and Mia grow closer and closer in terms of their new relationship while Gator plots to kill his employer since he knows he won’t be satisfied seeing Mia still alive.

description

Okay well this is where things didn’t go as I’d thought. For starters, Mia is kinda...wacked up in the head.

“She just lost oxygen to her brain for a while and it made her dumb. No harm. She can still do the important stuff.”

“Important stuff” meaning being a pimp. Okay so that explanation for Mia’s slow personality is a little ludicrous in the context of the story. Another contention that made me laugh instead of being pensive or serious were the character names.

Flame: Mentor name
Gator: Hero name, then changed it to Jake
Idget Gidget: Heroine name, then changed it to Mia
Rodent: Heroine’s dad

description

Because of Mia’s stunted nature, she was often portrayed as a child-like person. She carried around a doll, and Gator often referred to her as a child stuck in a woman’s body. With all that in mind, it was really hard for me to not imagine Gator as a pedophile when he’s always described as rock hard around Mia and wants to fuck her...the sex scenes weren’t hot at all and the possessive attitude he had I couldn’t justify. It seemed like he fell in love with her at first sight since there wasn’t much development on that front.

Anyways, I’ve been told that the better Bijou Hunter works are her Damaged and the Beast series so I’m not completely put off by her yet...on a last note:

1 star for effort and 1.5 for at least making me laugh. I think if you’re even a little bit intrigued you should check it out. For a $.99 read, it was pretty entertaining.

Let me start this by saying, I know there is a lot of controversy regarding this book. One thing I do know, is that you have to keep reading to fully understand these characters. Things are not always what they seem in the beginning.

Gator is a hired killer. Growing up in the swamps of LA with an abusive father and neglect, he is a monster. Gator is hired to kill a man and his daughter. He takes one look at the daughter, Gidget, and decides she’s his and he’s going to keep her. Gidget is a prostitute. Her father, and I use that term loosely, pimps her out. She has been doing this for years. It is very, very sad. One of her neighbors chokes her which leaves her with brain damage. The issue here is whether she is left in a child-like state or not.

Hearing anger and sorrow in her cries, I want to burn down the world. In my mind, I see us in the car with Mia pointing out every person who hurt her. I even want to destroy the old woman who told her she had no value. Every cop who looked away. Every neighbor who turned a blind eye. I want them all dead. I need to lay waste to the city to find vengeance for my woman. ~Gator

Death and suffering await them all. Rodent was lucky with a quick bullet to the head. He died too fast for my taste and I wish to kill him a million times. I need to feel the blood of the guilty, so I can look into Mia’s eyes and know I’m worthy. She must be avenged. ~Gator

IF YOU KEEP READING, you will see Gidget change. She becomes Mia. Though she has difficulty expressing herself, when you get to her POV you realize she is an adult. She is stunted by years of abuse and neglect. She can’t read or write. She really has no reason to be anything other than a child. In steps Gator-Jake. His rescue and subsequent love brings Mia out of her shell and she grows into a woman, not a child.

Jake also becomes more than the monster his father made him. There is some question of whether he took advantage of Mia. I did not see that. He could have, from the very beginning, and she would have let him. But he didn’t. He held off as long as possible before he actually consummated their relationship. Mia was actually the instigator. Jake wanted it to be special for her since she has never had that in her life. He wanted her to have everything she had missed. While he is not your normal hero, he is one nonetheless.
When she looks at me and smiles because I freed her from hell, I’m worthy. ~Jake

The world made me a killer, but love made me more. ~Jake

At times, I found this very difficult to read. Both of these characters have had very, very hard lives. They both deserve a HEA so much. I was rooting for them the whole time. Their relationship just works. I loved the epilogue too. It was nice to see them happy.

Definitely not for me.

Like most of the other reviewers I love the damaged series and as a result Bijou is one of the authors I always look out for but I couldn't, no matter how many times I tried get on with this book. I like a good alpha male character and I do like them a little dominant and the females therefore less so but this book was on a whole different level, I found it uncomfortable to say the least, these are two people who have suffered, theirs lives have been dreadful and normally I would like a book where the alpha male swoops in and rescues the helpless female because he wants her so much but this was creepy and unsettling especially when she explains about the doll and I'm sorry but this is not the book for me. I tried on several occasions to read this and each time I got a little further but I just couldn't see her as anything other than a child and, well it's creepy to say the least.

By all the bad reviews, I thought this book was going to be disgustingly horrible and abusive. The hero never abuses the heroine or do anything to her without her permission or with the intent to do harm. Good Lord people. I don't understand what all the hate for this book was about. I absolutely LOVED It.

Contrary to all the belief that there is not an HEA, I'm telling all potential readers that there is an HEA!!!

Two broken people who come from horrible past filled with death, violence, and not an ounce of love, find their own beautiful Happily Ever After!

At the beginning of this book you feel a little odd about Gidget and her doll, which I notice a lot of readers find "creepy". However, if you go on to read the story you will find that there is a reasonable explanation for her connection to the doll and for her peculiar mannerisms.

Please don't knock this story without giving it a try for yourself, and please don't let others personal opinions set the tone for your own opinion. This is truly a beautiful tale if you take a look at it as two dysfunctional people finding love. We all know some dysfunctional people; maybe not to this extreme.

Also remember that this is fiction. Some of you will complain no matter what, but some of you know the difference. Also, some of you need to shut up and go sit down because the author warned you but you couldn't help taking a peak anyway with your nosey selves. How do I know?? Because I'm one of them nosey people who has to see why the warning too. Haahaa....

Happy Reading

**re-read, 4 1/2 stars, It's no secret that I love Bijou Hunter and all her books, whenever her Damaged series comes out they are auto buys/reads for me and even though I have beta read for some of her books I still love them so much that I have to buy them too(hey I said at the beginning I loved her books), so when I heard she had a new series out I was ecstatic. We get more Bijou and her great hero's and that means we get something to tide us over between her Damaged books. Add to that I get a good/bad hero and I'm in heaven. I love when a hero is a "bad" guy but when he meets his girl he will do anything for her to make sure she is safe including things that "good guys" would consider wrong. This book was great I didn't want to put it down, I loved that this was different from Ms. Hunter's other series and even though it was very different it still was so awesome all on it's own.

Gator is a killer he kills and has no problem doing it, so when he see's Mia one of his hits his wold is flipped upside down and changed forever. Gator knows the second he see's Mia that she will be his no matter what, but when he finally meets her she is nothing like he thought she would be and even though they may never be able to be together she will always be his. Mia has been damaged, she has been hurt beyond repair but Gator still can't let her go. The more time they spend together Gator starts to see the real Mia not the girl everyone else saw or the girl that Mia let everyone see. Gator and Mia both begin to fall in love and soon it seems like a future may be possible. But The person who wanted Mia dead has to be dealt with and Gator has no problem making sure the person is dealt with permanently so that he and Mia can have a chance at happiness but the man who hired Gator won't go down so easily.

This book is so different from what is out there first it's almost all from the hero's(Gator's) point of view, with little bits of Mia in between. I love a book with the mans point of view but what I have found is that many authors can't quite get in the head of a hero so that it feels genuine and real and not like a woman has written a mans point of view. Like Bijou's other books I never felt like Gators parts weren't anything but real and genuine. Mia also isn't anything like any heroine I have ever read about, yes I have read many books with heroines who have traumatic pasts and have been "damaged" but nothing like Mia. The growth that we see in Mia was beautiful and I loved that we get to see that what everyone though about Mia is so far from the truth (I can't say more because I really don't want to spoil it) Ms. Hunter did a great job writing this subject and showing us the real Mia in this book and writing a darker edgier.

Gator was awesome, I love a devoted hero and gator wasn't just devoted he was DEVOTED to Mia she was it no other woman even registered for him once he saw her, and he was willing to do anything and everything to keep her safe and happy and to take away all of her pain. Gator does everything he can to make Mia know how much she means to him and though he is a big tough as nail hero with Mia he is loving and kind her hero. You got to love a hero who takes care of everyone who ever harmed the heroine *sigh* because he loves her so much. This book showed the growth of not only Mia and Gator as a couple but it also showed the growth they go through individually. This book isn't just about the outside conflicts it's about Mia and Gator healing each other and finding in each other the thing they knew they would never find and that was love and acceptance.

The epilogue was beautiful, to see the happy ending of two people who deserved it so much was wonderful, and that we get to see how they are in the future is just another reason I loved this book. This book is shorter than almost all of Bijou's books but she never made me feel like I was missing anything important in this book. In many short books I have read I had a hard time connecting (almost even caring) about the characters and I never had a problem with that in this book, from the first page I was hooked and really excited to have something different among so many books that seems to be the same that they almost run together. I can't wait for more Bijou, normally I would be chopping at the bit for more of the Damaged series but now I just want more Bijou, dark, light, short long I don't care. This (along with all of Bijou Hunters books) will be a book that never gets deleted or removed from my kindle, because I know it will be on my re-read list in the future.

This book was entertaining and creepy, but I wouldn't call it sexy. No matter how you spin it, Mia was mentally challenged. That she knew she was mentally challenged is of no consequence. She was essentially a child trapped in a woman's body, so I had a hard time finding any of the sexy times between her and Gator truly titillating. Gator... ah, now Gator on his own is a sexy beast, and I did love his character. He's unapologetic, goes after what he wants, and is a true alpha man with a very, umm, healthy appetite. I just wish he would have directed some of that pure sexual energy toward somebody that could have legally consented; I would have been all over this book. In the end, I did enjoy the writing and the plot. The HEA was nice, especially considering both of the main characters' beginnings, and I would definitely read this author again.

My motives for this one were not pure. They were shallow in fact. GR friends were debating its merits and their ratings were all over the place, so I couldn't resist seeing what all the fuss was about.

Is she or isn't she a child? That seems to be the gist of the debate and the fence that has been drawn around the ick-factor of this read. For me - it's a most definite, resounding, enthusiastic f@ck no.

Gidget/Mia is damaged, emotionally and mentally, but her development was not stunted. The first female POV chapter clears this up for me:
"The scars on his face tell a story. I can't read words in a book, but I understand his scars."
"I only know his skin looks warm and I want to touch it. My fingers caress the sheets the way they want to enjoy him."

These are decidedly not the musings of a child.

She's more Forrest Gump in nature. Quiet, observant in a savant-like way, honest and raw, but capable of deciding things for herself. And she decides she wants Gator/Jake. I can't blame her. He's a whole box of yummy chocolates that I want to nibble on. I was cheering for them the same way I was for Forrest's carrot to finally get Jenny's peas.

I did have to drop a star though - I felt cheated out of a particular scene. If the author reads this -- please please please consider "going there" with the bdsm bit. I know Gator is with me on this one and I'm quite confident that Mia can handle it too ;) The whitewashed reference only left me high n dry *sigh*

Overall, a very nice character development and a love story that is sweet & gritty at the same time. I'll be checking out more by this author.

I can totally understand why people won't like this book, and their issues with the heroine, Mia. And honestly, I felt the book a little lacking, needing more of a lot of things; more emotion, more fun, more story...

So I kind of feel like I need to stick up for this book a little. The 'Wait! What???' issue that was Mia, well, it wasn't really an issue for me. I found it pretty interesting, unique and I genuinely liked Mia.

I liked how the hero, Gator, worked her out and read her features. And I understood how they could relate to one another, plus the fact that Gator was also emotionally stunted and mentally underdeveloped in other ways too.

Mia, well, she's kind of like a woman with Downs Syndrome. They like pretty things, girly things, things that are childlike and they feel and sometimes act simplistic like a child. But they are women, they think and feel like women as well, they want love, a family, independence and they get aroused. I think Gator was the perfect man for her, mostly because she needed looking after and Gator was determined to do that.

Overall, I liked the characters, I thought what they both went through was terrible, the story needed more omph! and perhaps Mia's mental issues needed explaining a little more, even in an endnote or something.

Gator is a killer, he is a man that scares everyone just with one glance. Wanting to finish his kill list, he comes across Gidget who is on that list. He knows that he is not going to kill her, he is going to save her and make her his own. New name, new life begins for Mia but Gator has unfinished business to do and keeping Mia safe and happy is his top priority.

This was a hard one because Mia's life is so horrific it's hard to get past it. Gator is a hard man but there is a calmness he has with Mia. Well written, just hard to read, very dark.

3.5 stars. There was a lot of controversy about this book. So I had to read it. In the beginning the h did seem like a little girl. But as time went on and she was able to feel safer she grew into herself. It was right in the middle for me.

This is not a fluffy bunny chasing rainbows romance. Mia is not a damsel in distress and Gator is not her knight in shining armor. These two are not a happily-ever-after. Gator is a peek into the lives of two people on the fringes of society, forgotten and ignored, they make thier own HEA.

She was a mark, another warm body through his scope that he was paid to erase. Gator sees something in her though. Yards away, without even speaking to her Gator knows that this damaged girl is his in a way that society would never understand. What the hell does he care what society would want, "society" is the one who allowed this young woman to become so downtrodden. Society rules don't apply, Gator lives a "kill-or-be-killed" creed, and he's top of the food chain.

She's known no kindness. The man tasked with her happiness sells her to the highest bidder in his low-life circle of friends. The worst of the dregs of society are her clientele, she has no spark, nothing to live for, she walks and breathes. The man who owns her calls her Gidget, Idget Gidget, to be precise. She knows no other way of life.

A man who comes from nothing, has nothing and feels nothing is her savior. He says that she belongs to him now, that's fine, servicing one is only going to be easier than servicing many. She'll be whomever he needs to ensure that she stays his. She decides to be Mia, that way when her scarred knight speaks of her he knows that she is his for Mia means "mine".

Gator broke my heart, made me cry, made me sigh and will stay with me forever. Some people are too damaged, beaten down by circumstances to ever be put back together properly. The only thing to do is build from the ground up, never forget your past, just stop factoring it in to your life now. Mia and Gator are so heart-wrenching together, the swamp rat who never had anything or anyone to call his own and the child prostitute who wanted to belong. I kept hearing a quote on the fringes of my sub-conscious when I read this book and it sums this couple up perfectly:

".......and none but he who rules the thunder can put this rogue and whore asunder."

I really liked this one. My favorite stories are when both MCs are damaged.

The hero is sent to kill the heroine and her father. He kills Gidget/Mia's father, but keeps her. Gidget was forced to become a child prostitute by her parents. When Gidget/Mia was 13 years old, one john held a belt around her neck so tight during "sex" that she lost oxygen to the brain. After that she had been unable to speak correctly. Gidget/Mia has a hard time putting her thoughts into words. Gator/Jake came from the swamps where his father abused him. Gator/Jake killed his father and then became an assassin. They both try to heal each other and I just loved the story. It may feel insta, but really it was beautiful the way they got to know each other.

I am not a fan of books where the heroine is a prostitute, but Gidget/Mia had no choice. She was a slave. It was sad to read what she went through.

I would love to see another book with Gator/Jake and Gidget/Mia and how they are doing.
Another great one by this author. It is written in dual POVs which is not my favorite, but the author did a great job switching POVs at the right time. Off to read another one by Bijou Hunter.

3.5 stars!
This was good. I didn't love it, but I really liked it.

The whole drama regarding Gidget's mental state and Gator's obsession with her didn't bother me one bit.

I think it was obvious that Gidget was not a little girl but a woman. It was evident through her POV. She might have been acting like a child in certain aspects (clinging to a doll for comfort), and not being able to read or write (not because she's incompetent but because she never went to school), however, her thought process is not of a small child.

Gator held himself back while he was unsure of her mental state but gave in once he recognized her as a woman.

The only reason I wasn't over the moon with one was I think the it was too short. I didn't get to really connect with the MCs or believe in them as a couple.

The epilogue was actually the best thing about the book! It was beautiful and told from dual POVs and give a great insight far into the future.

Interesting premise for a book. The antihero H paired up with a mentally disabled h. I read a few reviews and can understand where others are coming from that this freaked them out a little. h basically had some cognitive development issues due to anoxic brain damage from being strangled when she was younger. because of this she had some child like tendencies.

The mom in me says ewwwww. But on the flip side I think even the mentally disadvantage deserve love and a HEA. They should not be shoved to the side or forgotten about. Obviously he loved her, he wasn't taking advantage of her in any way. So I liked it even if I did wince at a few parts.

5 intense stars!!!

See, the first thing I need to say about this book is, this is not a typical romance novel, it can'tbe with the 2 principal characters being as damaged as they are, but I did like it. Why?... well, I'm a junkie for books where there's two people figthing to have a chance, to find a happy ending, against all odds, and this book fits the description perfectly.

The principal characters live in a world full of darkness, Gator is a contract killer with a very troubled past, and Mia, she's and abused child, her parents were trash and use her for their own benefits. She's part of his next target, but when he sees her through her rifle scope, he sees something in her and he wants to keep her with him. He soon realizes that she's not a normal girl, she's a bit slow understanding things, but he wants her still, even more because he wants to protrect her.

In Mia's eyes, he's her savior, her protector and her chance at happiness, she's used to people use her and tell her what to do, but Gator, Jake for her, is different in her eyes, not the troubled man, not a killer, he's her light. She'll do anything to keep him with her.

Cradling Mia's face in my hands, I whisper, "Did you forget who you are?"
The fear and pain her eyes rip me until I want to rip Vic limb from limb. She nods while tugging gently at my shirt.
"What do they call me?" I ask.
"Gator."
"Does a man like me share his woman?"
Mia shakes her head. "I'm yours."
"Yes."
"I'm sorry I forgot".

This story may not be sweet or funny, but like I said, it's intense, full of hope and with two people looking for a chance to be happy, to find redemption and they will fight anything to get it.

With a few grammar mistakes, but if you look past those, it's absolutely worth it!

This was a freebie and I'm happy it was and that I didn't pay any money for it. I almost didn't download it anyway because it's only about 100 pages. I'm not one for novellas but the fact that it was free and suppose to be a dark book I took my chance.
The writing is very choppy and it didn't flow well at all. However it kept me interested enough to finish it though I did skim towards the end.

Gator/Jake (H ) grew up in an abusive and unloving home in the swamps of Louisiana. When he was old enough to kill his father , he did and left the Swamp for good (his father has killed his other years ago). He soon became a contract killer and was good at what he did. When he was out on a job and looking at his next vics through his rifle scope, there was something about the girl that had him second guessing his orders.

Gidget/Mia (h) has lived in hell her in entire life. Her mother is a whore and her father no better. ( I find it hard to believe that, given the Mother's occupation, they even knew who her father was) but anyway, it wasn't long before mom was hooking her out and then her father took his turn. She soon only lived with her father and was a child whore from then on out. Until the day that Gator decided to keep her for himself.

One of the things that I didn't like was the whole " her brain is broken" bit. That she was so brain damaged that she acted like a child though she had the body of a woman. I couldn't stand that. The author would have done better to have the character behave the was she did and explain it as someone who has given up on life and is just going through the motions, more dead inside than alive type of thing ...In my opinion.

Do not read Gator. It was creepy. The heroine talks and acts like a child. Everyone says she is "slow"

The hero says watching her carry around a baby doll is weird but he won't take it away from her because it would be mean. Creepy.

The heroine talks about how men used her like a toilet. Since her dad pimped her out ever since she was a kid. This is NOT what I want to read about.

I tried this book because I was told it was a beauty and the beast story with a hitman hero. It was just creepy and wrong.

What an original couple Gator and Mia make! This was a very interesting read due to the unique characters portrayed, and I wasn't sure I was going to like their story as it started out. However, as I kept reading, I could see how Gator and Mia were perfect for each other and ended up really enjoying their tale. There really is someone for everyone, and these two fit each other just right. Nicely done!

it was nice read, I really enjoy the Damaged series and for this one I wish it would be longer because the couple had huge potential and the story was very interesting but since it was shorter than I am used to I felt like there wasn't time for better development but again it was really nice, I really like Mia and Gator. Book was really captivating...

Gator and Gidget

This was very different than what I'm used to and I'm not quite sure what i thought about it. I did struggle some at parts to continue - story became a little too repeative and predictable. But even with struggle I finished it do three stars.
I liked Gator - he isn't your typical mc which intrigued me. Gidget staid kind of a mysteri but eas likeble too.

I'm not sure how Bijou Hunter fit a full romance in a longish novella package, but she did. The book is like The Wardrobe: bigger on the inside. Jake and Mia are damaged and Mia isn't 100% after an injury. Bijou writes not 100% characters so well. The people in her books aren't all geninus, the children aren't all precocious, the characters aren't all beautiful (but always are to eachother). The romances are flawless, and they are more believable because the people are not.

I'm not sure many people will understand this book. The author is writing emotions, describing them in a very unique way. I believe you really have to 'read' it to get it.

I wouldn't call this book a happily ever after. I would describe it as being a peaceful past the huddle of life beginning.

Gator and Gidget are two haunted souls who've known the worst side of life having gone through the worst kind of abuse in their childhoods that have left them scarred and damaged. They find each other when Gator is hired to kill Gidget and her father (good riddance to bad rubbish!). He heals her by seeing her as more than a child whore and she heals him by making him feel safe and supporting him through the only way he knows how to feel worth, killing evil people and not once does she judge him.

Leaving their pasts behind in their old home and moving to a new country, they become Jake and Mia James. And in their new lives and with a fresh start, they have a chance to be the parents they never had with their son.

This book really made me blood thirsty for revenge and justice-- and in this read they were the same thing to me. It made me sad and angry and yet resigned knowing such evils in the trusting forms of parents do exist in this world. It also made me feel blessed having been raised by a selfless mother.

A heartwretching and yet inspiring read.

I really can't gripe about anything regarding this book. If I absolutely had to list one con it would be that it was just too short! I wanted more Gator and Mia. It is amazing when an authors words can cause you to feel empathy for some unsavory characters who are effed up in every sense of the word. Sure, Gator is a hired killer with no conscience and Mia (aka. Gidget) was forced to be a childhood prostitute who suffered some brain damage from an evil John. When Gator is hired to take her out along with her pimp, he carries out half the job. Sparing her life due to a strong unexplained urge to "keep her" and make her "mine." Never having experienced love or felt love for another, they both learn to trust eachother; with Gator fighting his sexual urges to take her and Mia having faith that Gator will never hurt her or abandon her. Gator decides to take on one last job then he will retire.to paradise with Mia. In search of a true life that they each have never had but deserve. This story is gritty, raw, and just plain honest regardless of the surrounding circumstances. 5+++++ stars!!!!!
