Focusing on contemporary and historical developments in the study of human anatomy, "Eyewitness: Human Body" features clear, age appropriate text, photographs, charts, graphics, and 3-D models highlighting the inner workings of our bodies -- from the framework of our skeleton to the millions of tiny cells that make our bodies work. In this updated edition, kids can discover how muscles and joints help us move, find out how x-rays work, see the network of nerves inside the human head and more in a format that makes complex scientific concepts easy to understand.
The introduction of paperback editions, eye-catching jackets, and updated interiors ensure that the "Eyewitness" series will continue to be relevant in the ever-changing world of education and remain the go-to source for homework help, research projects, reluctant readers, ESL students, and, as always, to satisfy the minds of curious kids.
Richard Walker (1943-1999) was an English writer, freelance broadcaster, and professional storyteller who worked in several professions before focusing on storytelling. Born in Shropshire, he traveled widely throughout Britain and America, performing at folk festivals, schools, theaters, and private homes while sharing traditional tales.
EyeWitness: Human Body written by Richard Walker focuses on how everyone’s bodies functions from the inside. It covers many subjects including: the myth, magic, and medicine behind the human body, bones, muscles, nervous system, the brain, blood, eating, history, and what to expect in the future. The information is provided through text, charts, photos, and graphics that involve the reader with the human body in an interactive way. This children’s book is a perfect summary of the human body and scientific knowledge.
One literary element that is apparent in this book is the scientific point of view because the point of this book is to inform the reader about things they do not know about the body. The major feature that stands out in this book however is not the text, while important, the photos are what add further understanding and visualization of the text for the reader to fully conceptualize all the ideas. This book is wonderful broad overview of the human body for kids to learn about and reference. The pictures are my favorite part of this book.
Advances the idea that the elderly are unproductive and a drain on society. The elderly can teach those who are wise enough to listen and heed. The elderly volunteer at nonprofits while the younger adults are working. They are very important to our economy, at the very least.
Such a beautiful-realistic book, the lettering, the illustrations the information…everything!!!my son is 5 years old And I knew he would love it as much as I do.
