The book “Playing with light and shadows” is by Jennifer Boothroyd, a former elementary school teacher and who has written a lot of nonfiction books for young children. This book is suitable to use for the ages of 2 to 4. I like this book because children can learn how shadows are made with light in the natural environment. It provides vibrant photos and simple texts to show the different kinds of shadows. It is very interesting for children to know. It explains basic science concepts about light and encourage children and teachers to explore the shadows they see everywhere. It helps children to recognize that light is all around them and how to make shadows with their own hands. I think children are very much enjoy making shadows with their hands. This book helps children learn to use their various senses to explore their environment.
