This book is a great read for those who are looking for concrete tips on how to navigate co- or parallel-parenting with a narcissistic ex. The author doesn’t spend much time dwelling on explanations of how to know if you’re dealing with a narcissist, so if you’re earlier on in your journey and are trying to understand why everything feels harder than it has to be, there are other books to read before circling back to this one (“Co-parenting after divorcing a narcissist,” “Co-parenting with a toxic ex,” and “Raising resilient children” are all excellent). If you already know what/who you’re dealing with and don’t want to be triggered by more descriptions of the toxic patterns of behavior you know all too well, this book provides concrete tools, practical steps, and example language to use to reduce the daily pain and frustration of co-parenting with someone who has a personality disorder.

Practical guide for someone navigating co-parenting with a narcissist. Of note, this book does focus more on caring for your children than yourself (which to be fair, there's a decent number of books out there on that subject). Additionally, given how unique some situations may be, this book does not provide significant guidance if your child is under the grade-school age.

This book would be helpful to someone in the middle of a divorce because it covers the basics, but as someone who has had a continuing coparenting relationship it was not that helpful to me.

Navigating the turbulent waters of co-parenting with a narcissist (or high-conflict co-parent) is a daunting challenge, and this book offers a lifeline to those struggling with this difficult reality. *Effective Co-Parenting or Parallel Parenting with a Narcissist* provides a comprehensive guide tailored to those who need practical strategies to protect their own well-being while ensuring the best possible outcomes for their children.

The book is well-organized and the author does an excellent job of explaining the different approaches one can take. The book also acknowledges the emotional toll that comes with co-parenting in such circumstances. It encourages self-care and provides strategies for managing stress, which is vital for both the parent's and the child’s well-being. The author’s tone is empathetic yet firm, and should be a mandatory read for all working in therapy, mediation, and family law.

Wonderful Guide on co-parenting

A lot of this book went beyond just parenting and how to have a healthy relationship. How to take back control when someone dominates the rules in a healthy way so that you and the kids thrive. I liked the part about structuring the co-parent agreement in a healthy way. Much of this healthy communication could save many marriages. Great read, well researched and very thorough in how to be a successful co-patent.

Great for setting boundaries

There is a Narcissist in every family but co-parenting with one has got to be the worst. This book will help you by protecting yourself and in turn teaching your kid through your actions of how to deal with such people. Setting boundaries is a crucial thing and this book has a wonderful section on it. Highly recommend.

A lot of great, practical advice for dealing with stressful high-conflict co-parent. The 2nd half of the book was very redundant.
