Out for Blood: A primary school murder mystery for kids and teachers

Rate this book
Welcome to Manor Hill. A place so remote, no one can hear you scream...

Out for Blood is a gripping murder mystery story for children aged 8-12 inspired by the experiences of a primary school teacher.

When Frank, Arnie and Badger set off on their school’s annual residential trip, it promises to be full of excitement and laughter. But the mood quickly changes when one of their instructors appears to have a fatal accident. When more instructors fall victim to ‘accidents’ of their own, the boys start to suspect that something evil is afoot.

Who’s targeting staff at the activity centre? What secrets are hiding here? The boys find themselves embroiled in the middle of another investigation with time ticking to uncover the killer. They just better hope whoever is responsible isn’t after them too…

The follow up story to In for a Penny, Out for Blood contains more illustrations, more fun additional content at the back of the book and most importantly...more murders!

Mr Willment had this to say, "I've been on many school residential trips over the years so setting a murder mystery at an activity centre seemed like too good an idea to turn down!"

The author of "Out For Blood" possesses an undeniable talent that sets them apart from others in the literary world. What truly distinguishes their writing is their remarkable ability to connect with young readers and understand their preferences. The writing style is perfectly tailored to resonate with the intended age group, capturing their attention and imagination. The story itself is a masterful blend of spooky elements and an uncanny sense of realism that creates an eerie atmosphere, making readers believe that the events could actually happen.

A standout feature of this book is the inclusion of illustrations depicting all the characters before the story even begins. This artistic touch brings the characters to life, allowing readers to vividly imagine the events unfolding in their minds. By immersing readers in the world of the story even before they begin reading the author creates a sense of anticipation and excitement that carries throughout.

For me, the exceptional originality of "Out For Blood" really sets it apart from other children's mystery novels. Unlike its peers, this book excels in maintaining a consistent level of intrigue and suspense by skillfully incorporating a complex network of clues and red herrings that keep readers on their toes until the very last page, ensuring the mystery remains engaging and unpredictable throughout.

From my perspective, this book is not only ideal for personal reading but also an excellent option for integration into classrooms and libraries. Given the enthralling narrative and distinctive literary approach, there is no doubt in my mind that this book will achieve great success. Personally, I am eagerly anticipating future creations from this extraordinarily gifted writer.
