I didn't expect to like this book as much as I did. Im so glad my expectations were low because I loved the story. I love Aggie trying to be her own person away from the expectations of her mother and her people. She fell really fast for the guys. However it did work out beautifully. Their bonds went much deeper than I expected considering how quickly everything happened. The only reason its not a 5 star read for me was the added mythologies caused a bit of confusion and made it hard to concentrate on the story. I do love the lessons that family isn't always blood and choosing yourself and those you love is the greatest gift. Overall, I did enjoy the 3 books.
This is a book that you buy solely because of the sprayed edges. I had never seen such a beautiful design and I’m a Halloween lover, so it was a must. That’s where my adoration for this book ends. This is the first book I’ve given 1/5 stars (why was it published?). Adding more than a couple of POVs gave me whiplash. The plot was weak and predictable. The writing and editing was atrocious (hello typos and repeating a whole section of chapters that I just read but slightly different. They definitely tried to stitch in an updated version). I don’t DNF books so this was a painful read. But the sprayed edges are gorgeous.
I’m not finishing this. I made it to page 265 and absolutely nothing is happening. Whatever plot there was has been dissolved completely. It’s a pretty book, but it’s an empty book.
