(“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth…..” However, it was all a massive ass joke. Hearing how so many could believe in God when he truly was a selfish arrogant prick, especially to one of his first creations, was hysterically comical. Adam and i were meant to be equal in every way according to God himself or, sadly I believed. Yet that was not o be the case.)

Let me start by saying Lilith is a book that give voiced to the voiceless that is to scared to speak up. I feel to many people overlook that in this book. Lilith was a very strong woman from the jump. God and Adam thought they were going to make her a place mat and she very quickly told them were the hell to go in the most disrespectful way!! Then came good ol sexy Lucifer (AKA Luci) o literally rock Lilith world and show her what true love and acceptance is. I will say that reading this book with the religious trauma i have i hope like hell this is the real story cause its better suited then the over religious man made ones. It took me a minute to really sit and put review together cause honestly I wasn’t sure how to say this without sounding like a B**ch. This book brought things into another perspective to me that made me think things differently. I will say this was an amazing book that gave me very high emotional responses and for that i loved. There isn’t anything Alex writes at I don’t feel that way about. I love the spice Lilith an Luci had. They had some Hell of a great times. The banter in hell was a very comical one. I loved how everyone accepted and loved each other regardless of anything. All in all I absolutely loved this book. Im excited to read further into this series cause im sure they will be even more powerful and amazing.

Now some of my favorite quotes!

( Cham would usually comment to us, “Go to your room and F**k yourself silly!” Then Jericho would chime in “Hey, it’s not her fault that Lucifer hadn’t gotten P**SY in a millennium! The poor guy was in a dry spell.”)

“You and him have been through enough. Don’t let your anger consume you. He needs you now. Despite you plotting death on Daddy Dearest and your EX!”

“You’re right i want to rip there 🍆 and ⚾️ off, feed it to them and single-handedly, bring them to hell to torture then for eternity. But that wont help Cain.”

“You’re definitely a perfect Queen. I think bringing them here would be fun but play the slow game. It’s way more satisfying!”

A Bold and Thought-Provoking Retelling

I am in shock! This novel is bold, exciting, gripping, detailed and I love a retelling!! Lilith is an exciting reimagining of the legendary figure, outlining themes of feminism, power, and self-discovery. Lilith goes through some struggles for autonomy, her encounters with Lucifer, and the consequences of defying societal expectations.

The book depicts her as fierce, complex, and unapologetic. The narrative is rich with symbolism, exploring themes of toxic masculinity, ego, and the weight of deception. The inclusion of paranormal elements, archangels, demons, and Nephilim adds depth to the world-building, making it a unique blend of mythology and dark fantasy.

Overall, Lilith is a must-read for fans of feminist retellings and dark, mythological narratives.

This was truly a great read for me, it tapped into my doubts of "the beginning" as we know it, the garden of Eden always sounded too good to be true! This book introduced me to the character Lilith who to this day I had never heard of, I had no idea there was rumoured to have been another woman created before Eve! I loved finding out about her, how she fights against male supremacy, refused to do as she is told and rebels against God, that girl has BALLS OF STEEL! She falls for Lucifer and together they find her perfect world where she makes her own rules and creates her own future, finding happiness after the abuse she experienced in the beginning was refreshing. Throw in a bit of spice here and there and this made a promising start to the Warped Beginnings series!

DNF’d at 67%. I could not get past the editing. There were run on sentences, incomplete sentences, switching between past and present tense in the same sentence, and just overall not well executed. I think the idea behind the book was good, but it was not executed well. The FMC also went between wise and then childlike, and it was difficult to keep up.
