A powerful story of healing, new beginnings, and friendships that last a lifetime…Charlie Grace Rivers, a gutsy divorced mother, works hard at juggling life in the small town of Thunder Mountain, Wyoming, even when her cantankerous and ailing father balks at every decision she makes regarding Teton Trails Guest Ranch. New author! New book! New series! I’m so excited to tell y’all that I just finished the first book in a brand new series by Kellie Coates Gilbert. I was offered the chance to read this book and I jumped on it. I have been following Ms. Gilbert for a few years now and I have 7 books and a couple anthologies of hers in my library. I have been swamped with reviews since I retired and just never took the time out to read one of them until this opportunity came about. I’m so glad to have read this book and I’ll tell you why.
This book grabbed my attention and held onto it until the very last page. This book and series is about the friendship of women. The first book is about Charlie Grace and her three female friends Reva, Lila and Capri. They have been friends forever and graduated together. They have remained a group of four who pull together for each other and are there through the good and bad times in their lives. They meet with each other weekly and are a chosen family.
In the beginning of this book we meet Charlie Grace and she is about to open Teton Trails Guest Ranch. This is an added addition to the original working ranch. I loved seeing her plans come together and how she and her aunt worked together to make their opening a success. You get to meet some of the guests they had and one very important one that stirs some opinions in the town.
Charlie Grace has a lot going on and her women friends are a constant support for her. I love the characters in this book and how well developed they are. The author made me want to be friends with these ladies. Although I know it can be hard to be part of a longtime group, I still longed to be a part of them. We all know how much camaraderie and support can mean when you are going through the highs and lows of everyday life.
This story flowed and I could see some problems down the road. I liked how they were handled. I also came to care for all of the women and am happy to hear the second book is going to feature one of the women whose time I think has come. I can’t wait to see what is in her future.
If you like a good wholesome story. A story that draws you in and holds you hostage until you finish the last page, then Kellie Coates Gilbert’s Where We Belong is a must for your “to be read” stack. Until next time…Happy Reading!
Don’t forget to leave a review for the authors you read!

If you like small town romance and tight friendships, this is the book for you. This is the first book in a new series. I enjoyed this one! The characters are the kind of people I would want as friends.
Where We Belong is the first book in Kellie Coates Gilbert’s new Teton Mountain series. Charlie Grace Rivers is a divorced mother who works hard on the family ranch and juggles with small town life in Thunder Mountain, Wyoming. In a gusty movie, she decides to create the Teton Trails Guest Ranch where tourists come and see a working ranch and the beauty of Wyoming. Only her grouchy father seems to question every decision and oversteps when he hires her cheating ex-husband, Gibbs, to work on the ranch. With the support of her three best friends, Charlie Grace takes each challenge head on. When Nick Thatcher, one of her first guests, catches her eye, she can’t help but think there is a chance for love again. However, there is a problem. Nick is a part of the production team for a television show being filmed nearby and won’t be staying. A heartwarming journey of the courage to start over, with the power of friendship and the dreams of something more, Where We Belong is an incredible story of one woman’s journey to buck all expectations and follow her heart. Charlie Grace is a woman who is not afraid of hard work and is determined to make her new dream a financial reality, regardless of the opposition she gets. Relatable and inspiring, Charlie Grace is a character worthy to root for. I loved her friends. Capri, Reva and Lila, all who have their own issues and struggles and yet are there at the drop of a hat for each other. There is plenty of drama as a community member throws her weight around and I loved the scene where she gets shot down. The romance between Charlie Grace and Nick is sweet. If you love stories of community, friendship and pursuing one’s dreams, I highly recommend Where We Belong.
Where We Belong is available in paperback and eBook
When we visited Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, I wondered what it would be like to live nearby. Well, I'm wondering no more - it's a great place to live if you have wonderful friends like Charlie Grace, Reva, Lila, and Capri. A cameo of Ava Briscoe from Kellie's Maui series is the frosting on this cake!
New to me author, Kellie Coates Gilbert, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story about 4 close friends in Teton Mountain, I will be looking for my next read
Friendship and family take center stage in Where We Belong, the first book of Kellie Coates Gilbert’s Teton Mountain Series. The author places us in the town of Thunder Mountain, Wyoming and makes us feel right at home. We get to know the local residents and their hopes and struggles. Charlie Grace Rivers is one of those people and I quickly was drawn into her life as she tries to turn her family farm into a working guest ranch. I love that she and her high school best friends are still close.
A local resident stirs up controversy over plans for a television show to be filmed nearby. To make it complicated, Charlie Grace has met a man she really likes – and he happens to be part of the production company.
Ms. Gilbert has a talent for making her characters seem very real. Her physical descriptions of the location are so vivid that the reader is transported to the site. The story flows seamlessly, which keeps it believable.
The author provided me a copy of Where We Belong with no request or promise of a review. However, I am a fan of her work and can honestly say that this book did not let me down. I had a hard time putting this book down and am already anticipating the next one in this series.
Such a beautiful book. Romantic, and emotional at times. This is Book 1 in Kellie’s newest series about 4 friends who grew up together and continue to grow in their adult lives. Book 1 centers around Charlie Grace, who lives on her family’s ranch in the shadow of the Teton Mountains in Wyoming. She is turning the ranch into a destination get away, and this is her first season. As you watch Charlie Grace fight her person battles, she becomes a close friend to you and you find yourself falling into her story. Excellent story line about healing and new life, you will not be disappointed with this new series.
Another story of good friends helping each other navigate the waters of being grown-ups with grown-up problems. This story is set in the northwest, with beautiful descriptions of scenery and wildlife. With no glaring errors, it is easy reading with no language, no steamy scenes. It has the usual cast of characters– sweet ladies, business owners, jerks (both male and female), and the precious child. There is nothing unusual about it, and that’s the problem. It’s just another story of good friends helping each other, ink poured into a mold, allowed to set, and put up for sale.
A heartwarming story about one woman, Charlie Grace Rivers, turning her troubled family ranch in Thunder Mountain, Wyoming, into the Teton Trails Guest Ranch. It’s her only hope of saving the ranch and keeping it in the family. Her disabled father is totally against the idea and has nothing good to say about it or Charlie Grace’s ideas.
A wonderful, heartwarming story about family dynamics, friendship, small town life, following one’s dreams, new beginnings, and more.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Charlie Grace has been dealt a few crappy hands in life. A husband that cheated , a dad that was more insulting of her than there for her but she always had her friends through the years With a beautiful backdrop of The Tetons, Charlie Grace opens a vacation ranch and with the help of her friends and an unexpected man in her life she may just come out on top. She brings authentic characters , a gripping storyline and beautiful settings that make you want the story to never stop So thankful there will be a book 2
Is your life a puzzle of apologies, excuses, and disappointments? Are you easily silenced, caught off guard, and disillusioned? Grab “Where We Belong”and learn to speak your truth, follow your heart’s desire, and seize the day. Turn your house into your home, your dreams into reality, and your hopes into your future.
What are you waiting for? Take a leap of faith and follow Kellie Coates Gilbert and her influential characters in your own pursuit of happiness. Treasure your family and friends and take time to enjoy God’s creatures and creations. This book has it all.
I truly enjoyed reading this book. I love that the girlfriends of Charlie Grace are steadfast and supportive of each other. I grew up in a small town and this town depicts what it feels like to live in a community of caring folks. The descriptions of the beautiful landscape and sights around the Tetons make you feel like you are there. Fans of the TV series Heartland will find this book entertaining. I can't wait to see what the future holds for Reva in book 2, Echoes of the Heart. I received this ARC from the author and I'm happy to leave a review.
The first book in Kellie Coates Gilbert’s Teton Mountain series, Where We Belong, left me wanting to take a vacation to Charlie Grace’s ranch getaway. I can’t wait to read the next book, which I believe will be about Reva. I enjoyed the pace of the book and the characters. It was a story about friendship and leaving yourself open to love. I would recommend for those who enjoy a clean romance with strong female characters.
Turning her family ranch into a tourist destination is a dream come true for Charlie Grace, but not without a lot of doubts and hard work. Set in the Teton Mountains of Wyoming this new series shows the resilience of Charlie Grace, how her close friends believe in her, encourage and celebrate with her. The townspeople are warm and welcoming, as is this book. I look forward to reading more of Kellie Coates Gilbert’s series in the wilds of Wyoming.
Charlie Grace is a hardworking divorced mom managing the family ranch while trying to raise her daughter and take care of her wheelchair bound dad. As she begins the Teton Guest House Ranch she meets with no help and her cantankerous dad fighting her every move. When a handsome TV producer stays at the ranch and looks to use the neighboring land for a set, the town is divided, including her friends. Finally, she finds a man who puts her first, but is it worth the strife in the town?
This was a quick, easy read. The setting reminded me a bit of the show The Ranch and the friendship and small town vibe were reminiscent of Sweet Magnolias. If you enjoy those shows or shows like Virgin River, you should enjoy this. I do prefer 1st person though and this was in 3rd. The relationship was also more of an instalove type of thing, which is common in short books. Was still a decent read overall.
This book was EXACTLY what I was craving. Some small town news, some new (clean) love, a little bit of drama....i just ate it all up! I am looking forward to reading the other books of the Teton Mountain Series.
This book felt just as I had hoped - like the TV series Virgin River, Sullivan's Crossing and Sweet Magnolia's. I know these are books, and I cannot compare, and would not want to compare this took to them, but this book had that cozy small town feel that these shows give off.
If You have ever visited Wyoming, when Kellie describes the Mountains and Wildlife, You will feel like You are there. What a Wonderful Book about "4" Longtime Friends. Don't start this Book late at night because You will find Yourself staying up to Finish. This is what I call a "Feel Good Book". 🤗
She had grown up in this small town in the Tetons. Married and divorced now building a guest ranch on their property. she'd been dating an old friend for years but when she planned to breakup with him he asked her to marry him in front of the whole town . she said us as she was embarrassed. Now what? It's a nice g rated romsnce.
I'm excited for this new series, I love this author's writing, she has a true sense of friendship, and writes heart warming stories .This series focuses on four lifelong friends, in the beautiful setting of the mountains. Can't wait for these characters to shine .
I didn't want to put this down. This was such a great story. I cannot wait to continue the story. I want to go and vacation in this beautiful location. I love the friend group and the stories that will come from them.
Easy read. I received this book as a giveaway. I enjoyed the storyline and was grateful that the author explained some hardships in Charlie Grace's life, divorce, her father but her girfriends that were always there for her. Good, Bad and indifferent. Very easy read and I enjoyed it
This book has a lot of drama. There is also love. There is a lot of closeness between the four friends and they keep supporting one another. You need to read it to find out the ending.
I love author Kellie's characters and the strong friendship between the four women and how they not only support but fully "get" each other. It was a heartwarming story whose ending left me sighing with happiness.
Four friends, a beautiful setting, a love discovered, healing in a family and warmth make this story go round. I’m looking forward to more storied reflecting genuine and caring relationships.
