This book is filled with tons of great experiments - most of which can be done with ordinary household items. Some are very simple and take very little effort (dissolving the shell of an egg). Some are a bit more involved but have really great products (making your own radio using an old plastic bottle and some wire). I haven't had a chance to try very many of these experiements, but the ones I have tried have worked really well. The best part of the book is that it has a section at the end of each experiment that explains the "how" and "why" of what happened. This is a great teaching tool that I will be using in my classroom.
I really liked the experiments given in this book. I plan on becoming a chemistry Escher so a few of these might come in handy. The real reason I got the book though was because my fiancée is a kindergarten teacher and I thought that some of these experiments would be good to introduce them to science. I found quite a few that I could use. Plus a lot of them just looked fun for me to try in my free time :) the only gripe I might have about the book is that there were only 101 experiments
This is a decent little selection of sciency experiments and weekend projects. many of the projects can be greatly improved if you know what you're doing but it does a decent job of keeping things simple and layman.
If you are like me and know a lot about Physics and Chemistry you may find it a little too simplistic.
