This author has a way of keeping you locked into the book and never letting you leave it. It happens to me every time I read one of their books 🤣 & I am always begging for more.

This book has all the tropes you know & love such as friends to lovers, touch her & 💀, found powers, cinnamon roll MMC, bad ass FMC’s etc. It also has disability rep & LGBTQ+ rep.

This book is about a group of friends who go to a haunted grave site & things go sideways 🫣👀. I was hooked from the beginning trying to piece together the mystery and the little Easter eggs the author puts into the book that helps you figure out the ending. There is also spice 🌶️😏. Can’t forget about that.

This book is apart of an interconnected series! It is highly recommended to read the house of whispers first however you don’t have to. You’ll be able to understand what’s happening in this book without reading the other one.

If you are into the dark romance, mystery, gore ( one of the characters channel Billy Loomis from scream), spice & all the other things I have mentioned above DEFINITELY check out this book!!! Also, CHECK THE LISTED TRIGGER WARNINGS!!!

“I had tasted my forbidden fruit and, no matter how many bites I took, I always hungered for more.”
“What do you say, darling? Want to join me in the darkness while I make you howl at the moon?”

Dark ghost hunting adventure with some romance and horror elements.

It took me a while to get into the story, but after that, I was hooked and couldn’t put the book down. The pacing was slower at the beginning of the book but got faster towards the end without feeling rushed.

The ending took me by surprise and was truly something I didn’t see coming.

Alaska seemed like an interesting FMC, and I would have loved to learn more about her. I’m not a huge fan of the love triangle trope, but I liked the relationship development between the characters.

I would have preferred to have 1-2 more chapters at the end just to explain some things a bit more. I was left with a lot of questions, but maybe those (or at least some of those) will be answered in the following book/books.

Please check the trigger warnings before reading!

I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review. Receiving ARC didn’t affect my opinion of the book.

When a group of friends venture into an infamous cemetery at night to do a little ghost hunting, what could possibly go wrong? There’s an ancient evil in their midst and no one will ever be the same.

As more horror unfolds, the intoxicating relationship between the three MCs takes center stage. Alaska with her toxic boyfriend Cain and the seriously spicy relationship with her always doting side piece Lazarus propel the story into so much more. With excellent disability and LGBTQ+ rep (their friends Ruby and Jinx have my heart), this is something all together captivating.

If you’re a fan of gritty 80s/90s horror, this is absolutely the read for you. There’s plenty of gore but the storyline is also hauntingly beautiful. The atmosphere is off the charts creepy and the mystery is masterfully told, keeping you guessing until the very end. This is an interconnected standalone, so reading the first book (𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑯𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑾𝒉𝒊𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒔) isn’t absolutely necessary, but as it was one of my favorite reads earlier in the year, I highly recommend it. There are significant triggers, so check those first. Hebert has easily become one of my must read authors.

Thank you C. Hebert and RR Book Tours for the opportunity to be on this tour.

I was provided an ARC of this title for free and am leaving this review voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Magic. A love triangle. A legendary killer. A possession. A twist.

Insatiable Hunger is book 2 of C. Hebert’s Living Nightmares series of interconnected stand-alones, and follows a group of friends on a pulse-pounding adventure through a haunted cemetery.

This is an absolute nail-biter, packed with suspenseful action that will hold you perched at the edge of your seat. This book was so good that I read it twice.

Thank you to C. Hebert for the ARC & to R&R Book Tours for letting me take part in the tour!

Thank you so much to C. Hebert & R&R Book Tours for my Advanced Reader Copy of 𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐄 𝐇𝐔𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐑! This review is comprised entirely of my own thoughts & opinions, & is based on the copy I received.

Insatiable Hunger was a captivating and unputdownable read that had me on my kindle reading into the wee hours of the morning - not alone, of course, because horror books! I haven’t ready many horror stories, but I LOVED House of Whispers so I figured I would love this one too since it’s by the same author. It did not disappoint! This book delivered a pulse-pounding plot with a bit of romance, and was the perfect read for Spooky Season! It has everything from witches, a haunted graveyard, spooky woods, and a perfect vibe of 80s/90s grunge aesthetic. There is also a pet wolf! Who can resist that?!

I really loved the characters in this one, and while I typically have a love/hate relationship with love triangles in books, I thought the one in this book was written very well. Alaska and Lazarus have the most AMAZING chemistry ever and the romance between them was on fire. They, along with Cain (Alaska’s beau who does not treat her very well), Alastair (our pet wolf!), Ruby, and Jinx, decide one night to go ghost hunting in a haunted cemetery. This is a great idea, right?! Things do not go as planned and they accidentally stumble into an evil lurking inside that will change things forever.

This book was seriously just so good. C. Hebert is a fantastic storyteller who has an amazing way of writing books that simultaneously are terrifying, mysterious, and suspenseful, and romantic. It’s definitely an interesting dynamic for a book and it made me feel very connected to the characters and the story! It evoked a lot of emotions in me and that is always what makes me instantly connect with a story and its characters.

Overall, I definitely recommend this book, especially if you’re a fan of horror, fantasy, romance, and all three in the same book! Again, please ensure you check the content warnings as this one has some very dark elements!

'Darling, there isn't a force on this earth that can keep me from you. I would walk through fire for you.'

Insatiable Hunger is one of those type of reads that leave you with goosebumps, but the thrill of the scare keeps you going. I haven't read a lot of horror but I've seen a few readers saying they enjoyed this book and I was intrigued. This book is a dark fantasy horror with a touch of dark romance. It has some steamy scenes and includes a love triangle, but the love triangle is done well.
When the group of friends visits a cemetery to go ghost hunting, you know it will get spooky and I don't mean Ghostbusters spooky, it's a bit more intense.

After reading this book, touch her and d1e might be my favourite trope! I love Lazarus! The number of quotes I highlighted from him. I would love to have a physical copy, especially for his quotes. This book has ghosts, spice, great tropes and is overall unputdownable. I am actually surprised by how quickly I finished this book.
Please read the TW's, as some of the content may be triggering. Fans of horror and dark romance will devour this book.

This is the second book in the Living Nightmares series… Insatiable Hunger? Yes and Insatiable hunger devouring this book. Could never get enough.

I loveeee a good dark fantasy, romance, horror experience. I will say I could have gone without the devastation of losing a certain someone but it was worth it for the plot.
I was literally screaming the whole last like 5 chapters. I was terrified for my life that Alistair was going to get unalived. Thank sweet C Hebert for not doing me like that. It would have been the straw that broke the camel’s back for me. 🤣
I was so deeply invested in Laz and Alaska’s love story. My heart was fluttering every time they had a little moment.
I did find several errors throughout that it appears editors didn’t catch but they were only mildly distracting!

3.5* rounded up.

Entering a haunted cemetery? Sounds like a great idea. Welcome to the chaos😅. I love how C. Hebert writes, it’s chilling and keeps you on edge. It has parts of horror and romance that keep you locked in on the story. Ruby and Jinx were the cutest, I loved them. Also I freaking loved LazarusHonestly, all the characters had stuff that was so intriguing about them. If you are looking for a happy ending.. this may not be the book for you but damn is it addicting to read. Excuse me while I go repair my heart now after reading this 😭

Shoutout to C. Hebert for granting me a free copy in exchange for an honest review. One of my favorite authors to destroy my heart.

This book took the readers from dark romance to horror so seamlessly that emotions were blurred - should I feel on edge from fear or something else, or a blend of the two. C. Hebert does such a great job of pulling in the readers and then taking them on a ride. I loved that this dark romance had more suspenseful overtones with the ghost hunting and a modern twist on folklore.
The only reason that I am not giving this book a 5-star rating is that I wish more time had been spent explaining and expanding on the folklore. I think that this left some questions unanswered, but the book was still a great read and in no material way detracted from the plot arc or characters.

I received this book from the publisher/author at no cost to me and volunteered to read it; my review is my honest opinion and given without any influence by the author or publisher.

Holy horror movie between two covers. This had ghost hunting gone horribly wrong, possession, sexy times, creepy creatures (and boyfriends) cult like vibes with an ancient group, scary af woods setting as well as graveyard, and lots of gorey goodness all wrap in together. Seriously, I had to keep reminding myself this was not a movie script but a book over and over. The plot was so intriguing and I loved the continued storyline of the witches and hexers from House of Whispers. Lazarus is amazing and that ending had me in shambles. If I could forget it and read it for the first time again, I would. This book is such an experience.

This was truly a wild ride! It gives me early 2000s horror movie vibes in the best way possible! It took me a little bit to really get into it, but about halfway through, I was completely hooked! It's a perfect blend of creature horror, ghost hunting, and dark romance. I definitely can say I haven't read anything like this before. The second half is fast-paced, thrilling, and keeps you on the edge of your seat! And I DID NOT see that ending coming!

I just finished this book and don't even know where to start. I feel like I couldn't read it fast enough to keep up with the storyline, if that makes sense!

I'm still trying to piece this together with The House of Whispers, which I read previously but not right before this book.

I can't really put my thoughts in words, but I do know that this book was a page turner for me. I devoured it. I loved the fast pace and adrenaline rushes.

I can't even begin to express how absolutely captivating and gripping Insatiable Hunger by C. Herbert is.

This story had action and suspense, sprinkled with love and spicy scenes that all mixed together to create a perfectly blended story.

This story start out at the end.... and takes you around and back.. and it was done perfectly.

I felt all the emotions the characters felt... I felt like I was standing right next to them, living through it when them because of the exquisite storytelling C. Hebert does.

I fell in love with every main character (except you Cain, you suck, lmao).
Lazarus & Alaska together are Chef's Kiss.
Ruby & Jinx are so cute together and their love is beautiful.
And we can't forget the protective best friend, Alistair - Alaska's best wolf.

This is a definite must read and PREPARE to be SHOCKED, throw shit and be upset... Hearts will be broken... Also - don't read while eating 🤣

I've said it before and I'll happily say it again, if C. Hebert writes it I will read it. I was NOT ready for this story and had to even google a few of the trigger warnings. This story will have you on the edge of your seat from the prologue to the epilogue. The adrenaline rush fueled me to read this in one sitting and let me tell you... I'm still coming down from the high of this experience. The twists and turns of this thriller are so outrageous that I audibly gasped a few times.

Alaska and her wolf, Alastair really stole the show here and confirmed that if I'm ever lost in the forest or stuck in a creepy cabin in the middle of no where that I will always choose to have a dog with me over another person. Alastair was 100% one of the main characters in this book and NO, nothing happens to him!

Alaska and Lazarus' situationship was a wonderful deviation from the norm. Cheating is a hard limit for me in books but when it's cheating on an abusive, pseudo psychotic boyfriend I'm here for it. I loved the way Lazarus didn't care if he had to wait until the end of time or remain the dirty little secret, if it meant he could get his girl in the end.

If you're looking for a thriller that creates a cocktail of 'let's go into the forest on an adventure' horror movie, Hocus Pocus and Appalachian urban legend, then look no further. Recommendations! Don't start this book at sunset when you live in the forest. Like I did... bad move. And if someone offers you sanctuary in the middle of a haunted forest, don't take it. Ever. This book just solidified that fact for me.

Also, I'm convinced it takes a top tier author to make a spicy scene where someone who is possessed can get *happy* off of the dark demonic voice in their head discussing the ways they're going to unalive and bathe in their friends blood... I questioned things about myself while reading this scene and I've decided I have zero shame. It was scalding hot. Bravo.

The ending was a HEA in its own right (not the way you expect) and I appreciate this author so much for holding zero punches. She created a dark, twisted thriller that will make anyone with a weak stomach squeamish but also cheer on our main characters because they deserve the world. Except Cain. He got what he deserved. I'm excited to see how the rest of this world pans out because I never saw anything in this book coming.

SPOILER

My girl Casper making an appearance made me squeal in girlish excitement. For anyone who read House of Whispers, you'll love the foreshadowing (spooky story of the Ripper) and that violet magic making a deathly appearance.

Book Review
Insatiable Hunger By: C. Hebert

Alaska and her friends Ruby, Jinx, Lazarus, Alaska’s wolf Alastair, and her boyfriend Cain decide to take a trip to New Bedeville to go investigate a cemetery. Little do they know Cain has other plans for this trip. Alaska goes to take Alastair outside and they meet up with Lazarus he decides it’s too dangerous for Alaska to go outside by herself and goes with her. Lazarus and Alaska start 🥵🥵🥵. In the middle of them doing that Alaska and Lazarus hear a noise and they go investigate it

The next morning they all wake up and get ready to go to the cemetery when they finally get there it’s dark and it’s really creepy, Cain tells them that they need to split up to cover more ground. While the way Alaska went she is hearing voices and finds out that New Bedeville is where the Hemlock killings took place, remembering the story Cain had told the group the night before, she thought it was a coincidence and kept going.

Cain meets them and he has a smile on his face and tells the group that they need to come take a look at what he found, they go the way he went to investigate. They come up to a headstone with a Crowe carved into it. Cain starts to dig up the grave because he wants to see if it’s the grave of John Crowe.

Alaska and Lazarus stay up all night waiting for him but he doesn’t come back until the next morning. They all wake up to Cain with a hammer in his hand trying to break up something in a plastic bag. Cain looks at everyone and puts the stuff he crushed into a bottle and drinks the mixture, the stuff smells rotten and looks gross. The whole way there Cain is acting weird in a way that is unlike him.

⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ the book was very good and very well written but you need to make sure you read the trigger warnings before you attempt to read this book. There are some really disturbing/disgusting parts and lots of sex in the book. I still really enjoyed the book. I would definitely read the book again. The book could be very triggering to some people so make sure you read the trigger warnings on the first

**CHECK TRIGGER WARNINGS**
Cyn always has a way to weave an amazing story that integrates mystery, intrigue, romance and horror. Her dark, twisted stories always have a way to make me fall in love with the story instantly, even with any bloodshed connected with the narrative.

This paranormal fantasy horror was another literary masterpiece. I already loved The House of Whispers (Book 1, in the Living Nightmares Series) which I read last year, and since then I have become an avid reader of each of Cyn's novels. They never disappoint with their structure and plot detail. Everything is laid out in such a way that the narrative is easy to comprehend, but you also never know what extra twists and turns may come next!

Insatiable Hunger doesn't follow on from Book 1 in the conventional sense that a series would, I won't give any spoilers as to how the whole series interconnects so far. I went on my own deep dive after annotating and completing this book, eve so far as talking to the author to ask a few questions as ai was so overwhelmingly imprewith how they tied in this different storyline and timeline.

The easter eggs (and there are many, if you have read Cyns' other books) are throughout this book which kept me even more intrigued and captivated.
(The ending...whoa I screamed! So many possibilities!)

Imagine your favourite 90s horror film with a group of friends going on a trip, some Evil Dead vibes, Witchcraft and a cannabalistic monster all thrown together on a ghost hunt adventure together - well these are some of the vibes I got.

I read this within a day it was so good and kept me on the edge of my seat, physically going through the motions along with the group. I honestly wish I could give it more than 5 stars!

A thrilling dark romance that’ll have you checking over your shoulder…

A group of ghost hunting friends take on a notoriously haunted cemetery where others have ventured before them but never returned. Thinking nothing of it, the friends set out to find evidence of ghosts but end up finding much more than they can handle. It turns out that they’re not the only ones hunting…

I’ll start by saying that if you’re into horror games and ghost hunting tv shows, then this is perfect for you. This book gave me major Supernatural/Until Dawn vibes for which I am very appreciative.

The author was able to create such a brilliant atmosphere throughout the entire book – think creepy, heavy rain, thunder and lightning. This added greatly to each scene and setting; the cabin, graveyard, and woods settings were my favourite. In fact, I loved ALL the graveyard scenes *wink*.

To add to my previous sentence, the romance and smut was great and I expected nothing less from Hebert. The FMC was likeable and I really liked the dynamics between her and the other people in the friend group. They weren’t all ‘pally pally’ with each other – they were friends but also had their disagreements and fights, just like real friends do.

I want a wolf (I have a Blue Merle Border Collie so I kinda do but she’s a small baby).

My one dislike, unfortunately, I didn’t really like Cain. Now obviously you’re not supposed to, but I mean that some of the stuff he did and said was questionable. Not in a dark way (because I’m here for that of course) but in a “why would anyone say/do that ever?” It did make me cringe and question what his purpose was except for plot development.

That being said, this was another certified banger from Hebert that made me question myself once more (the best kind of books do tbh).

Please be aware that there are significant trigger warnings for this book and they can be found on the author’s website. But aside from that, if you’re a fan of stalking, masked killers, and dark romance I definitely recommend this book!

Thank you to R&R Book Tours and C. Hebert for the book in exchange for my honest review.

Let’s get right into it! This is book 2 of the Living Nightmare series by C. Hebert. This one is for the supernatural horror suspense peeps!

The story follows 5 friends (and a wolf) on a ghost hunting adventure that goes very (VERY!) wrong. We have Alaska, our FMC, who is a witch and has a wolf companion named Alastair. Alaska is dating Cain. He’s an abusive ass. She is also sleeping with Lazarus. He is not an ass, and kind of sweet. They are accompanied by Ruby, who is also a witch and her girlfriend Jinx. They are basically a Scooby Gang, if the Scooby Gang were supernatural, punk/grunge and kind of mean and angsty.

This story was engaging and fun! Now, I am a horror movie fan and this book played out like a horror movie or a supernatural mini series. It has stories within the main story so it took me a little longer to read through as I wanted to understand all the details! I loved all the characters, specifically the dynamic between Alaska and Lazarus.

The story is not romance heavy, but when the spice hits…oh yea…it’s good. I like that it was not over the top and did not take center stage like it does in other dark romance type books. The pace was great, especially for a book that really does have a complex storyline. You have some history and lore, magic, monsters, blood, gore, running, screaming … and ….hillbillies! (😂 cue the banjo).

It’s hard for me to not give away spoilers as there is SO MUCH that goes on in this book! Honestly, I need book 3. Like right now.

📖Review:
A harrowing and dark descent into a nightmare that I gobbled up! A band of friends venture into the woods and an isolated cemetery under false pretenses by their hot tempered buddy, Cain. They often do haunting investigations but digging up the coffin of a serial murderer and supposed warlock a hundred years ago, was not what they had in mind.

Things go horribly wrong (as they do in isolated woods, lol) and they find themselves at at the mercy of an evil spirit, but also....something ancient and horrific is hunting them amongst the trees.

There's a fair amount of build up for this very manageable 250 pg read. I really liked our couple of Lazarus and Alaska (Cain is her official boyfriend but she truly has the sparks for Lazarus). First of all, his name is everything! He's protective, passionate and a leader. Alaska has witchy powers that she's unsure about. We see her magic manifestation in ways that furthers the plot and her character in an exciting way.

There is definitely gore so just letting you know! I don't mind it, the brutality was necessary for the beats they face and I love the visual imagery. The woods, the sweat, the blood, the viscera....it's all just what I want in a tale like this! Plus characters you grow to love along with those you hate. Stakes get high and the last 30% or so...be prepared for a non stop locomotive of action and fear!

If you like things like Evil Dead, American Horror Story, Amityville Horror...then this will bloody fit the bill!

ARC review for 'Insatiable Hunger' by C. Hebert

I've been fascinated by this author's previous work, 'The House of Whispers', and when I had the opportunity to become an ARC reader for her latest horror/thriller novel, I couldn't pass it up.

Let me tell you, this book is a must-read. It's like a chaotic storm in your mind, with a mix of mystery, dark magic, supernatural creatures, ghosts, and dark settings that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I devoured this book in one sitting, and I'm not just saying that because I haven't read much dark romance lately.

The story follows a group of friends who venture into a haunted graveyard, and as expected, things take a dark turn. But what sets this book apart is the author's ability to craft a compelling mystery that keeps you guessing until the very end. I was hooked from the beginning, trying to piece together the clues and Easter eggs that the author cleverly wove throughout the story.

As a horror fan who loves watching scary films, this book gave me a unique experience. Reading about creepy and gory scenes is more intense than watching them on screen, as it allows your mind to conjure up the images and create a sense of unease.

I can't recommend this book enough, but I also have to warn you: it's dark and intense. If you're not afraid to confront your own demons and enjoy a thrilling ride, then this book is perfect for you. But be prepared to pay attention to every detail, as there's often a double meaning to what's happening.

Overall, Hebert has outdone herself with this latest release. If you're looking for a spooky adventure that will leave you breathless, then this book is the perfect choice.

I LOVED 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀 and while this is book two in the Living Nightmares series, it’s not necessarily a sequel per se, but it DID NOT disappoint! To me this was a dark love story gone wrong.

This was like Cabin in the Woods meets the Blair Witch Project and Evil Dead but with magic and more spice! This book is fairly short but it packs a punch with information, action, spice, and an eerie, suspenseful setting!

When a group of people head out to an old cemetery for a hopefully killer ghost story, what they get instead is chaos in the form of raging storms, possessions, and terror filled nights.

We are given multiple POV. Cain can fall off a cliff and die, Lazarus is my sweet cinnamon roll protector, Alaska is our dreaming hexer in a tough situation, Alastair is the best Wolf and I would’ve cried if anything happened to him (spoiler, nothing does 🐺🫶🏻), and Jinx and Ruby were the best low key side characters. I loved the ASL rep the author adds. This story is action packed and fast paced and it kept me on the edge of my seat.

We have trauma, revenge, and eternal love. The spicy scenes were just spicy enough and at just the right parts and the horror was a nice mix between creature feature, gore/ splatter-punk, and body horror. The ending was unexpected and while I was hoping for a different outcome, it seemed significant to the story. There’s also a bonus chapter that has me intrigued for more that features the FMC from 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀. 👀👀

I really wanted to love this like I loved the first book in the series.
I thought it was a guarantee that I would adore it, especially since it's more of a folk horror setting than the gothic fantasy horror of the first one and that is my shit.

Alas, I think my expectations were too high.
Don't get me wrong... there was a ton I liked about it but it just did not hit like I thought it would.

For such a short book, the pacing felt off and it seemed we were just info dumped a bunch at the end.
I still liked it, I just think it could've used a little more info strategically placed in the front half.

Part of what made me really enjoy the book was the audio. Katrina and Nowhere do an amazing job dueting this and the immersive sound effects really made this an A+ listening experience.

Once again, this is not what is typically considered romance. If you are looking for dark romance, I think you will be disappointed. If you are looking for erotic horror and tragedy, this may be more your speed.

A dark romance thriller that will have you grasping for what happens next!! A crazy ride that begins with a group of friends that go on a ghost hunting trip that leads to the worst night of their lives. You follow Alaska, who's a witch and has an abusive boyfriend named Cain, who is a piece of work. Alistar, her puppy never leaves her side. Lazarus, who is very close to Alaska, and such a stud. Then there's Ruby, a witch as well, and her girlfriend Jinx, who is deaf. As they embark on a scary journey in the woods to find a haunted cemetery that holds the notorious Hemlock killer, John Crow. Little do they know ghosts aren't the only thing to fear in the dark as demons and an ancient tribe are always watching. As things get spooky and Cain becomes possessed in the grossiest way, things unravel quickly, as Lazarus and Alaska realize their true feelings, things get heated between friendships, and a huge hunt begins. With some spice to keep things interesting, evil will run rampant, blood will cover the woods, and their magic might just not be enough to stop the tragic events. Who will survive, and who will triumph through the night of hell that just keeps giving? A cliffhanger leaves you waiting for more!
What to expect...
Ghost hunters, magic, revenge, betrayal, gore demons, love triangle, lgbtq representation, murder, torture, death, violence, psychotic killer, secret society, spice, sacrifice, blood play, pierced fmc, masked mmc, mine, good girl, wendigos, and so much more!!

C. Hebert’s "Insatiable Hunger" is an electrifying dark romantic horror fantasy that hooks you from the very first page. The plot centers around a group of friends who venture into a haunted cemetery to investigate mysterious disappearances. Hebert masterfully weaves a tale that is both terrifying and mesmerizing, leaving you on the edge of your seat.

The chemistry between Alaska and Lazarus is red hot. If this was a physical book, I would have been tabbing the crap out of it. Their relationship is laced with a perfect blend of tension and tenderness, making every interaction between them sizzle with palpable energy. In stark contrast, the toxic dynamic between Alaska and Cain brings an intense, gripping conflict to the story, showcasing Hebert's ability to create complex, multifaceted characters.

The standout, however, is Alaska’s wonderful pet wolf, of course. Who doesn’t love a good animal familiar? Also worth mentioning, is this book has witches, horror and gore, lgbtq+ rep, 90s grunge vibes and a whole lot more. I can not stress this enough, check your trigger warnings.

"Insatiable Hunger" is a must-read for fans of horror and fantasy alike. C. Hebert has crafted a robust, unforgettable story that lingers long after the final page. Five stars, without a doubt.

Also worth mentioning for those that have read The House of Whispers are there are some amazing Easter eggs. You don’t need to read Living Nightmares book 1 to enjoy this book, but I think it adds another layer of complexity.

I definitely recommend picking up insatiable hunger immediately
