About the author

Christopher Ruocchio is the author of The Sun Eater, a space opera fantasy series, as well as the Assistant Editor at Baen Books, where he has co-edited four anthologies. He is a graduate of North Carolina State University, where he studied English Rhetoric and the Classics. Christopher has been writing since he was eight and sold his first novel, Empire of Silence, at twenty-two. To date, his books have been published in five languages.

Christopher lives in Raleigh, North Carolina with his wife, Jenna. He may be found on both Facebook and Twitter with the handle ‘TheRuocchio.’

A great side story about one of my favorite characters, Lorian Aristedes. this story takes place after the events of Ashes of Man (book 5) and should not be read until after book 5 is read. This novella will have spoilers to previous books.

This rating is just for the short stories since I already rated The Dregs of Empire separately before the collectors edition was added to Goodreads. All of these short stories were fantastic and they make me excited for whatever Christopher Ruocchio does after the Sun Eater series as they prove he can write in many different distinct styles and voices.
