The World #15

Under the Mountain

Rate this book
Sarka and her new companions travel to Amyalneas to swing by the Great Library. Instead of being a simple side quest, the situation goes south really quickly.

Startum Ironwolf and friends arrive in Aeroch Nor for the evening. The plan is simple. They want to sell their loot, do some shopping, get Zeven his polearm, and log out for the night. Before they even reach the Hammertoe Clan's cavern, trouble rears its ugly head.

In other parts of The World, Hollysharp finally gets theHollyTerror underway. The rest of Star's friends reach Delonshire to the shock of Delonshire Guard Captain Miya Faelwen. And back in BrokenFang Hold, the Valkyrie and Devil Dogs guild have come up with an audacious plan.

Don't you know who we are ?

Terrific , Sarka has an eventful trip to Amyalneas playing catch me if you can with the Azure skull mages and a Dil-Hilth , meanwhile Startum,Toten,Neysa,Helgarth,Phoenix (verbal diarrhoea specialist), Zeven,Braid ,Neristhana and convoy enter Aeroch Nor and whilst taking care of their business find that Clan Slagsmith and the Goon Squad require an attitude adjustment , General Dell and the convoy arrive in Delonshire and whilst resting are required to take out the trash in the form of the Goon Squad who never seem to learn that they are out classed and at BrokenFang Hold the conflict is escalating rapidly , can't wait for book 16.

A great continuation of the series...

So much to love in this story .. epic world building, fantastic character selection... Decent development of the characters... Each book is merely a snap shot of a day so character growth will be different and yet it's there... It's very human feeling in it dialogue.. gamers have their own logic, code, language and view point. This series captures that within a rich story that will have you fiending for the next.

Another great book

I liked seeing what everyone else in the guild and their allies were doing. It's a nice change of pace than just reading Stars adventures. We are also finally getting a bigger picture of what's going on. I love the detail to plans we get to read in motion as well. Can't wait for the next book.

25% filler content.

The story ends at 76% of the books content. That means nearly 25% if the book is filler. Repeated appendices in every book to make it bigger than it actually is. I enjoyed the series, but this has to stop. Its getting disgusting.

lots of filler, no real action

I am a fan of The World, but I’m not sure if it’s because of the “restrictions” Kindle put on the author but since the books got shorter, the quality has taken a hit. There’s no real progression of the story, I just really hope that the finale that’s being built up is going to be epic. Cause if it’s not, it will be a real let down. That being said, I love the banter between the friends and when there are battles, they are written very well. Just give the people what they want.

Under the Mountain (The World - Book 15)

I have read every book in this series and they get better and better! The characters and World-building (pun intended) are second to none as far as LitRpg and GameLit goes. In book 15, Startum and his allies learn more about the azure mages and begin to put the pieces together about that secretive guild. Plus they save a bunch more characters lives and get to take out player killers and monsters. Read it today for the adventure and excitement then stay for the honey mead!

Unpopular opinion, probably ignored

Maybe write a second series with the side characters being focused on their b plots? Maybe leave the main book for those interested in Startum and his story instead of giving them 200 pages of Startum plot with the other 400 pages dedicated to non Star focused content?

Minimal Plot Progression

Here’s a basic summary of The World 15:

- Phoenix and Toten call each other “asshole” three dozen times
- Star and his friends have pointless, overly long convos of giving one another a hard time
- Every woman is busty, without fail.
- Goon Squad shows up and acts like the most oblivious, entitled morons in the entire game world.

The pacing had become glacial.

I can not remember the last time the story advanced to any significant degree. The snail's pace had made each book incredibly boring. I was expecting some kind of epic fantasy and got a dull slice of life.

100 pages of nothing? Really????

The story stopped...100 pages left. All stuff if you're a true reader you already know...what's up with that? I love long stories. This one cheated me.

Another excellent book

More action, more world building and bringing characters together again. I'm hoping maybe we'll see 2 days of time next book. I want our heroes to save the day.

another good one

Lot of depth and action from multiple parties which nicely keeps you abreast of what’s happening in the different locations. Looking forward to everyone getting back together and the story accelerating a little though.

Enjoyed

Enjoyed the story as much as the others. The only complaint is trying to remember all the names and different story lines. Looking forward to the next book.
