Liss is an average twenty-something woman with a regular job working in a bar...until the day she learns during a televised broadcast that her grandma had an affair with the king decades ago and she might be his granddaughter.
The dying king's announcement throws Liss into a world of paparazzi, royal parties, and death threats. But it also gives her hope that she could finally be part of a family, something she's wanted her whole life and especially after her mum died when Liss was nineteen. Now she has to decide if she's ready to give up her privacy, safety, and independence to be a princess.
To protect Liss in all this danger and stress is her swoonworthy new bodyguard, Bear. He’s cheeky, grumpy, and has secret tattoos beneath his suits. He’s also stubborn and bossy and clashes with Liss constantly. But Bear has a soft side too. He sits with Liss when she sleeps to make sure she doesn’t have nightmares and buys her stunning ballgowns to make her happy.
It's not long before all the bickering and tension morphs into sizzling hot chemistry. Both Liss and Bear know that giving into their attraction is a terrible idea...but it's getting harder and harder to fight their feelings for each other.
Will Bear keep Liss alive long enough for her to decide her future? And what if the one person keeping her safe is the same person she can’t live without?

This is similar to Meghan Quinn's Royally Not Ready which I absolutely loved so I knew I wanted to read Regally Binding. I am so glad I picked this up. It was a lot fun. Filled with humor, banter, and spice, Regally Binding is for the readers who loved Princess Diaries growing up and crave a more adult version.
The romance is bodyguard & a bit of enemies to lovers which I think was done really well. Liss & Bear had tons of chemistry and banter. The romance builds at a good pace and feels believable. The slow burn really added to the steamier scenes. The steamy scenes were also 🥵, especially the dirty talk and sexy times (once against a 🌲!!).
I thought the plot was interesting. I liked the mystery of who was threatening Liss as well as the conflict of her decision to be a royal or not.
A fun time that a lot of readers will gobble up! For fans of Princess Diaries, Royally Not Ready and bodyguard/princess romances.
I was lucky enough to read an early version of this book, and I loved it.
The plot follows Liss as she is pulled from her comfortable life and told she’s a princess. As the world becomes a dangerous place for her, Liss is assigned bodyguards.
There’s an instant boiling pot of lust between Liss and bodyguard, Bear. I loved Bear. As the sexual tension builds between them, can they keep their relationship strictly business?
Regally Binding has a few different strands to the story, and it all pulls together to make for a fun, page-turning, steamy read.
Unfortunately, this book wasn't for me, dnf 35%. The concept was good and I've only read one Princess vs Bodyguard, but this book seemed very rushed.
At 5% our fmc was already making comments about the bodyguard. I felt 0 chemistry between them. It was a kind of instant love and I hate that, especially when you still have 300 pages to read.
The writing was great, I really enjoyed it, fast and entertaining. The characters and relationships were undeveloped and that was the biggest problem for me.
I want to thank NetGalley and the Author for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I DNF this book at 65%. I tried to like it, I really did, but unfortunately I couldn’t get into it. The concept of this book was really good, but everything else after that didn’t do it for me. The dialogue was cringy, I thought the insta-lust was a little much, and the character’s relationships were underdeveloped. I’m really sorry, but this book was just not for me.
Sometimes all you want to read is a Princess x Bodyguard romance with lots of spice, emotion, tension and some danger too. This books feels like a day off, a breath of fresh air. Truly enjoyed reading it! Very excited for book 2 and I hope there's some features of Liss and Bear!! Found a new family to love deeply!
Regally Binding is the latest romance novel from author Rebecca Chase, and the first in her new Closest Protection series. Fans of forbidden love, enemies to lovers, forced proximity and a good bodyguard romance, this is the book for you! Add in a found family, a fantastic ‘fuck it’ moment, a protective swoon-worthy ‘touch her and you die’ MMC and lots of banter and you have Regally Binding, a new spicy British romance, perfect for fans of The Princess Diaries and The Bodyguard.
The narrative is very well paced and I easily read the majority of the book in a single sitting. The plot of this book is very well crafted and more complex than your average romance, with Liss not only having to navigate suddenly becoming part of the royal family and her evolving relationship with her bodyguard but also becoming victim to death threats. There’s a mystery element with them trying to work out the identity of the person harassing Liss and also navigating concerns about the health of the king. Rebecca Chase found the perfect balance between these aspects to the plot and the romance, making for a really compelling story. I also loved how very British the story was!
Liss was an excellent protagonist who I really wanted to be friends with! I loved how normal she was, which made the plot of her suddenly being thrust into the royal family and the limelight even more compelling. This book explores grief through Liss having lost her mother – who was a single parent – to cancer. There is also fantastic anxiety and panic attacks representation through Liss and this was one of my favourite things about the book. As a someone who has had both for 15+ years, this representation felt really authentic so it was really powerful.
Bear was a swoon-worthy MMC to say the least. I very quickly fell head over heels in love with him but can you blame me? I particularly loved that he was such a complex character rather than just being the sexy love interest with surface-level characterisation you can often see in romance books, particularly spicy ones. Bear has a really great dynamic with Strike and the exploration of Bear’s backstory and how he found a family with Strike and his parents was really emotive.
Liss and Bear were a brilliant match and the banter between the two of them had me giggling throughout. Their romance builds at a good pace, with lots of sexual tension before the much-anticipated ‘fuck it’ moment. Their chemistry was electric and the spicy scenes were some of the best I’d read in a long while. Dirty talk fans, you’ll eat this up!
You will love Regally Binding if you fancy a read which is the perfect combo of sweet and spicy, especially for those who loved The Princess Diaries as a teenager but now fancy something with (A LOT) more spice!

Regally Binding is spicy and swoony bodyguard romance.
I had super high hopes for this book. I grew up loving Princess Diaries, and when I came across this book and saw it was a spicy version of Princess Diaries, I knew I wanted to read it. Unfortunately, this one didn’t click with me. It is indeed very spicy, and there is plenty of dirty talk throughout the book, but something just didn’t work for me. I think I had a problem with the pacing, and some of the dialogue just didn’t flow the way the author may have wanted it to. Sometimes romance books that have banana, whack-a-doodle plots work and sometimes they don’t. I think them working or not working depends on the reader. I am sure there are readers out there who are going to devour this book and love it to bits, but I am not one of them. For this review, I will go over the good and bad aspects and let you decide if it’s a book for you.
Let’s start with the good. I love a book with lots of drama; the more ridiculous and bat-shit crazy the drama or, hell, the story is, the better. This book definitely falls under the only would happen in Romanceland plot. Our heroine, Liss, has just discovered that she is the long-lost granddaughter of the King of England and potentially the heir to the throne. As you can imagine, this creates quite an uproar both in society but also within the royal family. Liss finds herself in a dangerous situation. Her grandma leaves her in the care of two very broody bodyguards. Liss instantly has lusty chemistry with Bear, who is one of the bodyguards. The plot in this book is bonkers and I like it. There are many ridiculous things that happen in this book, and it is fabulous. If you are a fan of bodyguards, force proximity, royalty, and broody hero romances, then you might enjoy this book. Bear’s character surprised me. I thought he would be this alpha male character, but he really has this soft side to him that I wasn’t expecting. Some of the dirty talk that comes out of Bear’s mouth is VERY spicy and we get a taste of it right from the first moment we meet him. There is chemistry between Liss and Bear, and if you like your romances to have that lusty tension, you will enjoy the romance between Liss and Bear.
Now, let’s chat about the bad things about this book. Let’s start with the pacing; it felt a bit off at times. There were moments when I felt like I was going at breakneck speed and then suddenly things would slow down to a crawl. It really created this unpleasant reading experience. While spicy at times, the dialogue between Liss and Bear didn’t necessarily flow the way I hoped it would. Part of it was because Bear’s character would go from hot to cold in the blink of an eye, which caused the dialogue to abruptly change in a jarring way.
"Regally Binding" by Rebecca Chase is a delightful and spicy romance novel .This book is a must-read for fans of contemporary romance, especially those who enjoy a mix of royal drama, forbidden love, and the enemies-to-lovers trope.
Liss is a relatable and endearing protagonist, an average twenty-something woman whose life is turned upside down when she discovers her royal lineage through a shocking televised announcement. Suddenly thrust into the spotlight, Liss must navigate the treacherous waters of paparazzi, royal duties, and even death threats.
However, the prospect of finding a family she never knew she had gives her hope and a sense of belonging she's longed for since her mother's passing.
Enter Bear, Liss's swoon-worthy bodyguard, who is tasked with keeping her safe amidst the chaos. Bear is a complex character, with his cheeky and grumpy exterior hiding a soft and caring heart. His dedication to Liss's safety is unwavering, but their constant bickering soon ignites into a sizzling chemistry that neither can deny.
The novel expertly balances the tension between Liss and Bear with the larger drama of Liss's royal claim. The forced proximity and the forbidden nature of their attraction add to the excitement and anticipation of their evolving relationship. Chase does an excellent job of developing the characters and their emotional journey, making their connection feel genuine and compelling.
"Regally Binding" is more than just a romance; it's a story about finding oneself, navigating through personal and public challenges, and the power of love and family. The novel also includes themes of anxiety representation, making it a relatable read for many.
The book is a fun and easy read, with plenty of spice and a well-crafted plot that keeps you engaged from the first page to the last.
In conclusion, "Regally Binding" is a captivating romance that combines royal intrigue with the intense dynamics of a bodyguard-client relationship. Rebecca Chase has crafted a story that is both entertaining and emotionally resonant, making it a standout in the genre. Whether you're a sucker for royals, bodyguard romances, or just love a good enemies-to-lovers tale, this book is sure to satisfy.

Regally Binding by Rebecca Chase Rating: 3.5/5 Release Date: 25 June 2024
Liss, a regular twenty-something woman working in a bar, discovers she might be the granddaughter of a dying king who had an affair with her grandmother decades ago. This revelation thrusts her into a world of paparazzi, royal parties, and danger, but also offers her the chance to finally have the family she's always longed for, especially since her mother's death when she was nineteen.
Enter Bear, Liss's new bodyguard, who is both swoon-worthy and grumpy, with a penchant for secret tattoos and cheeky remarks. Despite their constant clashes, Bear is fiercely protective of Liss, comforting her during nightmares and indulging her with stunning ballgowns. As their bickering turns into sizzling chemistry, both Liss and Bear struggle to resist their growing attraction.
Amidst the danger and tension, Bear must keep Liss safe long enough for her to decide her future.
Tropes: Forced Proximity Enemies to Loves Foundry Anxiety Representation
This book was absolutely captivating. I did however wish we could have delved a bit more into Bear’s perspective, however, it was still enjoyable from Liss’s POV.
The addition of entertaining side characters, along with some less-than-savoury ones, added depth to the narrative. From working her regular job at a pub to suddenly being thrust into a world of bodyguards and royal revelations, Liss's journey is filled with attitude and determination. Bear, on the other hand, exudes intensity but reveals a softer side beneath his tough exterior. As the two face scary situations together, their bond deepens even further.
Readers who appreciate Tessa Bailey's style will find themselves drawn to this steamy romance novel, blending the charm of "The Princess Diaries" with the intrigue of "The Bodyguard," sprinkled with the irresistible allure of "Red, White and Royal Blue."
Thank you so much to NetGalley, Victory Editing NetGalley Co-Op, and the author, Rebecca Chase, for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest and fair review.
Thankyou to Rebecca Chase and Netgalley for this ARC
If you’re into The Princess Diaries with a spicy twist and a broody, swoon-worthy bodyguard, Regally Binding by Rebecca Chase is for you! 👑🔥 This book has drama, heat, and all the wild, only-in-Romanceland moments that make for a fun and over-the-top ride.
The plot? Liss goes from being a regular twenty-something to discovering she might be the long-lost granddaughter of the King of England. Suddenly, she’s thrown into a world of royal intrigue, paparazzi, and even death threats. Enter Bear, the sexy, tatted-up bodyguard assigned to keep her safe. Their chemistry is 🔥 from the start, and if you’re a fan of forced proximity and that classic enemies-to-lovers tension, you’re in for a treat. 😏
The good? This book is packed with drama and tension, and if you love bodyguard romances, you’ll be all over this one. Bear surprised me—he’s got that protective alpha vibe, but with a soft side that had me swooning. And oh boy, the dirty talk in this book is next level! The banter and sexual tension between Liss and Bear kept me hooked, and their “forbidden love” was filled with those electric moments we all live for. ⚡️
Now, for the less good—the pacing was a little off for me. It felt like the story would race forward at times and then slow to a crawl, which threw me off a bit. And while I loved the spice, some of the dialogue between Liss and Bear didn’t always flow as smoothly as I’d hoped. Bear’s hot and cold moments could feel a bit jarring at times.
Overall, if you’re looking for a fun, spicy escape with royalty, bodyguards, and a bit of a wild ride, this one’s worth a read! It’s sweet, it’s steamy, and it’s got that perfect touch of romance drama we all secretly love. 💕
I would like to note that I received this ARC with the mindset that I would provide an honest review. 💜Found Family 💜Forced Proximity 💜Bodyguard Romance 💜Enemies to Lovers 💜He Falls Harder
The shopping list of tropes should tell you already that this book was well worth the read. I’ve decided to not do the star rating because it is so subjective. To me, there are hardly any 5 star reads so numbers don’t matter as they say. I liked this book! I think it is worth a read!
The book gave me the Princess Diaries feelings that I have been craving for years. It is more adult than the movie, so no worries there!
Liss quickly discovers that her grandfather may be the king and she is now in need of a body guard. We then meet our grumpy MMC, Bear. I really liked Bear but the instant lust for him was a little much. While the book is labeled enemies to lovers, I would say it is more two strong personalities thrown together within the forced proximity trope. The two are with each other so much that the relationship was bound to develop rather quickly.
I think that a dual pov would have really helped the story along so that we could get inside Bear’s mind and see what he was thinking/feeling.
The found family aspect was my favorite part about this book. As someone who has lost a parent, the journey that Liss went through throughout this book really hit home for me. She really wants to have that family, and that sense of belonging, and this story developed that trope nicely.
This book was fun and worth the read. I would definitely recommend this book to those who enjoy light romance/found family books and to those that just enjoy a story that leaves you wanting more.
Thank you to The Publisher Victory Editing NetGalley Co-Op, Rebecca Chase, and NetGalley for a chance to read and review this book.
This book felt like one big fever dream; I felt like I fell into a world where we mushed together The Bodyguard and Princess Diaries! As a big fan of the movies, it was a fun book that caught my attention without a doubt.
This story follows Lies, a small town bartender, who’s world is about to be thrown upside down when a surprise announcement from the King appears on her tv. Throughout this story we are thrown through a few different twists and turns that keep Liss on her toes but her biggest adjustment of all is her hot bodyguard who goes by the colorful name Bear.
I personally am not a huge fan if insta love, or insta less in this case, nor am I dying for a slow burn, but I need some kind of built of to show that this relationship is going to last longer than the time it takes me to finish this book. However, if insta love if your thing, you’re going to love the tension between these two as the feelings are definitely there!! But, with Liss’s possible princess problems, dating her bodyguard its a lot for her to handle at this time and Bear really shouldn’t be dating clients. It’s a fun forbidden love with a twist at the end that takes this small town, insecure girl into a confident princess.
Thank you to the author and the publisher for gifting me a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange of an honest review. All opinions are my own.
I'm the biggest royalty romance lover so I was very excited to read this book. It had everything to be a great book and I couldn't wait! When I first started reading it all went rather quickly, the tempo was very high paced, however I do think that's needed in the storyline. Only, the more the book progressed, the more the tempo slowed, even fading to too slow (for me). It felt like a chore to read it after a while. (I do want to say that I tried to finish this book before the publishing date and I had the busiest week at work, had no energy and didn't feel like reading at all, so that definitely played a part in my reading experience. ) That being said, I have read about 7392648 royalty romances so I do have some favourites that I compared these to so that might also have influenced me.
All in all I did like the story, it was more the tempo that did me in. And without wanting to spoil to much, the -let's call it- plottwist, just added to my more negative rating because it fel very unrealistic for a story set in this day and age.
I did LOVE Liss and Bear together! But again, their relationship felt forced, too quick and based purely on physical attraction. I felt like every other line was something like "oh he's so attractive" "oh he swallows, now I'm horny" "he just laughed, my thighs burn"
I think the story had a lot of potential but it wasn't executed to be what it could've been (if that makes sense)
Felicity, Liss, for her friends, is a 24 years old young woman working as a bartender in a local pub. She has held this job for the past 5 years ever since her mother passed away following an illness (cancer) that took Liss away from University to tend to her mother in her last days.
Having a great business sense, it did not take long for her to secure advancement to a managerial position. It is while working as the manager, one day, that she is urgently called by her grandmother who forbids her to watch the news an come meet her outside the pub. The King is on the TV making an announcement about an liaison that he had with a woman he loved some years ago, that produced a female child. What freezes Liss to the ground is the name of the woman, none other than her grandmother.
Any girl would be extatic to get that news but Liss is quite angry. In fact, she wants to know if her mother knew as this situation of wealth could of possibly have cured her if not made her more comfortable.
The author, brilliantly writes a tale depicting, as she states, "a princess diaries" type situation with a twist, filled with intrigue, jealousy, bullying, love, danger and hate that has the reader on a virtual adventure following, step by step, an odd situation only seen in the movies and where the role of Bodyguard is explained in detail.
The plot is great as the culprit can be guessed at the beginning making this a book that I rate with 5 Stars and highly recommend.
I really enjoyed this book, it had a great story. But I thought that at times it wasn’t well written and had a few cringy moments. It was maybe too focoused on sex in a few parts, and unecessary dialogue would happen. Bear and Liss were very cute together, but they were hot and cold a lot. He would say something and then a few minutes later would say something completely different, and she would do the same thing. There were bits that the story was a bit confunsing, especially because of being written in third person, which is not my favorite. I really enjoyed the plot of Alex and Marianne were poisoning the king and threatening Liss, with the help of her friend Steve, which in my opinion was an asshole from the beggining. I really liked the dinamic between Liss, Bear and Strike, even though Strike was an asshole most of the time, unecesserely. I didn’t really like that when Liss found out about the boys real names, she opted for calling Bear by his last name instead of his first name. And the whole drama of accepting the throne was only necessary after she discovered that she had a chance of becomming queen. But overall it was a good book, and with a few ajustments it would be a great book.
I received a free unedited copy of this book to arc read from the publisher in exchange for my honest feedback. Thank you NetGalley and the author! Bear and Liss are truly wonderful characters! And throughout this book I loved seeing their dynamic, and also their interactions not only around each other but with their friends. The plot of this book was a perfect mix of The Princess diaries and Barbie princess charm school which was right up my street! The ending of the book was suspenseful, and I did enjoy the twist, it added a thriller element to the book which I loved! However, this book was insta love which although I’ve read before, didn’t appeal to me this time unfortunately. I didn’t enjoy the speech between the two, and felt it was unnatural and often focused solely on the spice of the book and that they as a couple didn’t truly learn much about each other. As a reader I love to see couples not only be together romantically, but to also have friendship as a backing, and due to their instant love, I felt it wasn’t really as clear. If you are a fan of insta love I highly urge you read this book because it is a perfect option for those tropes! I did enjoy this authors writing and will try another of her books, because I would love to find one that I do fully enjoy, perhaps with tropes more accustomed to my liking. Thank you again!
This book put me on a whirlwind, and I feel the best way I can describe it is that it started off rocky but ended far, far better than I expected it would.
This is not my normal read, but I did truly enjoy the book. I really wasn’t sure about this book at the beginning, as the characters went really fast in the romance and the story was admittedly very predictable. But when I kept reading, I did start falling in love with most of the characters and their own side stories.
If you want a steamy romance that follows the typical progression of an easy romance, this is all for you. It’s not really enemies to lovers, as there’s banter but still a clear line to who the main character is falling for even in the beginning. But that being said, it is a well written, fun, and very enjoyable read - even for this reviewer who doesn’t tend to love real world romances. I would definitely recommend this book, and would say to seriously give the characters a chance to show way more depth near the end of the book than they do at the beginning. The wait was really worth it, and please - don’t skip the epilogue, oh my god that was cute.

What do you do when one moment you are managing a local bar and the next you may be a royal princess? Well, that is exactly what Felicity “Liss” Granger will have to discover. An announcement from the King will change her life overnight. She had no idea who her mother’s unknown father was as her Nana had never told them of her previous relationship. Her mother had passed away after a battle with cancer and Liss continues to grieve her loss. After his announcement and the news that his health is failing, Liss is protected by a bodyguard named Bear - and the name is perfect for him! As Liss tries to adjust to the pitfalls of the media and crowds, she also tries to stop her attraction to Bear. He is also finding himself attracted to her and knows that his business relies on his need to remain detached. She receives threats that she must renounce her title, but why, as the King has a son who will inherit? Will Liss finally realize that she isn’t ready for this…this is not who she is…and then there is Bear! I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)
Liss and Bear in Regally Binding. I mean I can't ever say no to a lost royal rom-com. It is one of my absolute favorite tropes! Felicity, aka Liss, is a pub manager that lost her mom at 19 and has had to find a family among friends to keep her going. Bear is the surly bodyguard that her Grandmother hires when the news breaks that Liss is a Princess, like the actual King's granddaughter. Bear and Liss are forced to hide out together until the DNA results come back, spending their days working on self-defense and trying to not let the intense chemistry between them lead them into doing something stupid. They face threats against her life, and she helps Bear and his business partner, Spike, out of a rough situation. This book has tense scary moments, incredibly kind and sweet moments, and off the charts tension.
Thank you to Victory Editing NetGalley Co-Op and NetGalley for the ARC of this swoony Royal Rom-Com! I will be recommending this to all of my rom-com reading friends, and I look forward to reading more work from Rebecca Chase in the future.
I am always a sucker for a lost royal rom com read, and this one while it starts off bumpy is a very fun ride. There are the tropes of forced proximity (because he is one her bodyguards) and enemies to lovers, which you can completely see happening right off the bat. The vibes that Bear puts off right from the start set this whole relationship up for the hot flames that is it. They have chemistry in tons. The banter is a lot like Tessa Bailey's newer books if you are into that type of writing, just FYI, because I know it's a hit or miss for a lot of people so you should know before diving into this read. I would have loved to have had a couple chapters or even a blimp from Bear's POV in the story, that always adds more depth. The side characters add to the story, in different ways, some good and some not so good.
A fun summer vacation read, or rainy weekend, if you are looking for a let's just enjoy the ride vibe of reading.
For those who love Princess Diaries and bodyguard tropes, this book is definitely one you'll want to read. There was a lot of suspense and mystery to keep you engaged with the story. What was missing for me was a slower build up, I felt the insta lust was a bit much for me and wished Bear was more professional in the beginning. That said, I know that is more of a personal preference so don't let it keep you from reading this book. These characters did have some amazing chemistry and if you love spice this book will have enough of it! The writing was good as I felt the story was easy to read and the words flowed well.
DNF at 19%. Thank you NetGalley for the e-arc. The premise of this sounded so good; I’m a Rhys Larsen girlie till the day I die, so was very intrigued by this grumpy/sunshine, forbidden bodyguard romance— it’s one of my my absolute favourite sub genre to read.
This starts with Liss, the FMC, finding out that she’s the granddaughter to the King. Her Nan had an affair with the King, many years ago, and the King, who is now dying, has just announced that he has a second family.
Honestly, this really could have rivalled The Crown, with the drama at the beginning, but I don’t know if it was the fast pacing of how this began, or because certain scenes just felt a bit choppy/abrupt; I mean, I’m ten chapters in and struggling to make sense of everything that’s unfolding. And then, to add, Liss and Bear, her newly assigned bodyguard are lusting after one other, like they’ve literally just met— I don’t know, something felt very amiss about it for me.
This book follows liss as she finds out that she is the kings grandaughter and her grandmother hires bodyguards for her protection. Liss was very close to her mom and after her mother passed away due to illness she felt alone and like she had no family. She began working at a bar and felt like she had found some sort of family. Bear is one of the bodyguards hired to protect less and instantly feels a connection to her but fights it due to a previous incident with someone he was hired to guard. Liss really brought him out of his shell and helped him deal with some inner issues he had. Once they both gave into their attraction for each other it was explosive! There is a slight mystery element in the story liss begins to get some threats and they have to figure out who is behind them, and there is a slight issue of royal laws not allowing them to be together. The story all tied together very nicely and I really enjoyed the book.
Liss (Felicity) Granger was happy pulling pints in a bar but she never expected to find out that the king had a secret affair with her grandmother and that she might be the granddaughter of the king. Liss’ life was going to change while she waited to find out if she was a princess or commoner. But now she was in the public eye but not everybody wants her there as a possible member of the royal family.
Liss now has a pair of bodyguards but her chemistry with Bear in particular seems to be a really bad idea but neither of them can stay away when Liss needs to make a decision about her future in the royal family.
If you like royal romances you need to read Regally Binding.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I enjoyed "Regally Binding" quite a bit. It took me back to my "Princess Diaries" days! FMC Liss is a likable and sympathetic character and MMC Bear is a chocolate hoarding teddy bear of a bodyguard. The pair have good chemistry and banter, and the secondary characters add to the story nicely. The villains of the story are obvious (maybe purposefully so?), really just providing a good excuse to put our main couple into forced proximity. There is definitely more development of Liss's character than that of Bear, as she navigates the boundaries of grief, familial expectation, and her own long-held desires. The ending is a bit implausible but hey, it's a romance novel. Overall a fun, quick read.
3.5 stars, rounded to 4. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a complimentary ARC of this book. These opinions are my own.
Liss chaotically discovers she might be the king’s granddaughter, making her forced into a dangerous and glamorous royal life. Her new bodyguard, Bear, protects her (and there is definitely some tension between them 🔥)
They were two very strong personalities, so getting them together was a BATTLE and I was hear for it 👏👏 Kids and Bears constant bickering and chemistry made the perfect enemies-to-lovers storyline. Throw in one of my favorite childhood movies and you have a win all around!
Thank you NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Coop for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you to NetGalley for the E-Arc in exchange for an honest review.
The title and the plot of the book was intriguing to me; I loved Princess Diaries, so I was excited to read this. Unfortunately, the romance and chemistry between the characters fell a little flat to me. I was confused by the instant attraction by the MMC and his dirty talking withing the first couple chapters.....I wanted the slow burn and banter that you normally get in a grumpy/sunshine book. The grump was not grumpy enough for me and the flirting right off the bat took me out if it. I wanted more depth in the plot, everything seemed brushed over.....even the romantic scenes were rushed. I liked it, I just wanted more substance! #RegallyBinding #NetGalley
