He had to overcome violence and repression directed against him. He took Malta into the EU after inspiring different generations to share his vision. He was the most significant political figure in Malta for more than a quarter of a century. There are many twists and turns along the way. Finally, a book is being published entirely in his own words.

EDDIE - MY JOURNEY is Eddie Fenech Adami's autobiography, a remarkably candid account of his unique 50-year journey.

One never gets tired to read the biography of this humble lawyer from Birkirkara, who without any pretensions let the call of duty lead him to become one of our nation's greatest statesman. In his life's journey, lies our nation's journey towards democracy and freedom. Faced with violence right to the core of his family home, his wife and children, he never wavered from his stance of non-violent resistance and national re-conciliation. Once in power, rather than seek revenge he quickly led to the establishment of the democratic institutions and authorities which serve as checks and balances on government itself. That democratic progress has unfortunately made leaps backwards in the past year, in which these institutions have been undermined or brought under direct government control. His vision should serve as an inspiration for all those who would like to see a more just and developed democracy.
