The book would greatly benefit from a skilled editor to enhance its readability. I found the use of "she" to refer to cloth quite confusing. However, Laura's unique personality shines through in her familiar delivery of her knowledge.
While I appreciate the informative content, rating it 2 out of 2 for information, I found it difficult to continue reading after encountering the casual use of the “F” word, which seemed unnecessary to me.
How to manage clothing in this age of fast fashion and disposable culture. Fun, easy to read, even with the odd quirky spellings!
As a person who sews I knew much of the detail around fabrics, repair, sewing, needles etc but the information she provides is accurate.
I like the attention ecological impact of clothing as well as the economic impact. She also addresses the impact of laundering and disposal of our clothing.
I really enjoyed this book — it gets straight to the point while remaining a fun, engaging, and light read. It covers how to choose fabrics and build a wardrobe based on quality over quantity, helping you make more thoughtful decisions and curate a closet filled with pieces you truly love and that will last.
There are also handy laundry tips (always welcome!) and practical advice on how to mend and care for your garments.
The author impressed me with her knowledge and dedication. I can’t wait to read more of her work.
