A secret society with reaches far greater than a college.
My brother is serving a life sentence for a murder I know he didn’t commit. I think I’m close to finding out the truth because someone tried to kill me and the only reason that I’m still alive is because Syn, Royal, and Gemini found me before it was too late.
Declan may have been the one who to carry out the act, but Syn, Royal, and Gemini are convinced he was ordered to attack me by JP’s best friend, Preston du Pont. I’ve finally convinced Syn that my brother is innocent, but before we can discover who really killed JP, we need to convince Preston before he tries to kill me again.
Only, Preston graduated from James Keyingham University. The only way I’m going to get close to him is by infiltrating his world. A world I very clearly don’t belong to.
Syn may finally be on my side, but I’m not sure if I really trust him yet. If I want to stay alive, I’m going to have to stay with him a little longer.
Somehow, the safest place for me is with the three people who have spent all their time trying to hurt me.
Started this in bed last night..And didn’t put it down..
Up to this point I had no feelings towards any of the guys.. Until now.. Gemini has let his crazy side show itself and OMG I am in love with his wackiness!! No filter means he says whatever pops up in his head, and always at the most inappropriate times, I giggled so much with this book, and I am all here for it..
This wasn’t as long as the previous books but still packed one hell of a punch.
Twists and turns, a cliff hanger that has me begging that this author writes fast because I need to know what happens.
And the truth is out. Or rather Tori, Syn, Royal, and Gemini all know the truth about who killed Syn's brother, and it wasn't Tori's brother. But they handed him over to the wrong person and now someone is trying to kill Tori, so she'll have to depend on the three men who tried to break her to not only protect her, but also to help get her brother out of prison. So, leading up to all the truths and the 2nd attempt on Tori's life there wasn't a lot going on and it was extremely slow paced. Hopefully the final book picks up and we get more character building for Tori and her guys maybe some actual spiciness and finally get an HEA for Tori.
Plot: 4/5 • Smut: 2/5 ————-> Well now we’re getting somewhere. After hearing the confession, Victoria tries to part ways with the trio. Only to have her life thrown off kilter once more. They’re always going to try and kill her, at least until the job is completed. She doesn’t know who she can trust anymore. Ends in a cliffy, and now we have to wait how long for the finale?! A little smut. Very little. More tension than anything.
There is 0 character nor relationship development. Everyone is suddenly just super in love with Tori, after knowing literally nothing about her. Payne telling her he loves her? Okay weirdo, you have had like 2 conversations with her and each time you were insulting her?
I, as a reader, don’t even know anything about Tori other than the fact that she has blue hair and she’s looking for the truth. What colour does she like, what’s her favourite subject? Does she like music? What is her personality?
I essentially just read 3 books about a FMC who is still a stranger. Honestly, this whole thing became hard to read — the premise was interesting at first, but the political aspect is messy and the twist was more like a slight curve.
Immensely grateful for the recap at the beginning since it’s been a while since I read book two, so that refresher was super helpful.
I really enjoyed all the guys. Gemini’s humor and weirdness cracked me up (the dog leashes moment had me smiling). Syn has actually grown on me too even though I didn’t think he was redeemable after book one, but I like how he’s been trying to make things right with Tori in his own way. Their dynamic shifting was fun to see. Royal might be my favorite, though since he’s the most grounded of the bunch.
Professor Payne… not my fave. The love thing felt rushed since they barely had page time together, but I’m curious to see how he’s going to mesh with the others.
The plot was definitely predictable, but honestly? Still a really fun read.
⚠️ Warning: my book information, shelves, and tags can be spoiler-y.

The twists were extremely predictable, some of it I figured out quickly in book 1.
I have read a lot of enemies to lovers, bully romance and dark romance but I don’t even know if you can loosely call this some sort of romance?
The only likeable person in this is basically Penny and the FMC Tori. It took pretty much til the end of this book to make the three guys seem even remotely like they may not just outright be sucky people.
The teacher, Payne, it feels like the author tried to recreate Lance Orion from Zodiac academy but it just isn’t really landing the same way.
I don’t think that we should have taken three whole books to get to this place in the plot, but there is so much filler in these that it’s not crazy surprising I guess?
Will I read the next book? Yes Will it be super good? If I had to guess I would say probably not.
I’m tryna figure out how Tori made it into JMU and can still be so stupid. It’s either stupidity or naivety. Either way, she’s has irked me in the last few chapters.
1st, I predicted who the real killer was in the first or second book, nbd. Royal is still in the lead as my favorite of the harem. Tori really thought she’d go home and live a peaceful life after everything & shocked when someone tries to kill her again. Like bffr.
I had to remind myself that she’s 18 & the prefrontal lobe isn’t fully developed until mid-20s.
Anyway, I’ll patiently wait for the 4th book to come out. I hope after everything so far, Tori opens her eyes & stop being so naive.
This series continues to impress me! I just love Tori and how she's such a smart and strong FMC. And not in an annoying way!
I feel like this was definitely more of Syn's book than Royal and Gemini, but I think it was definitely needed after everything he'd put her through in the first two books.
I could not even begin to guys how this series is going to end, especially with Payne now in the mix in a new way with the others guys.
The revenge aspect in this book falls short. At least in my mind. It's not vicious or fitting enough. However, we do get answers to a couple of questions. But those answers lead to even more questions. So. A catch 22 I suppose? Tori annoys me and yet I have to admit that she's incredibly tough. Payne is still my favorite and Gemini is completely unhinged. 3.5/5 stars.
5 Star - Couldn't put this book down. Its stay up late reading and be late to work good. 4 Stars - Couldn't put this book down but I still got a goodnights sleep 3 Stars - An enjoyable read that took me a few days to a week finish 2 Stars - An okay book that I struggled to get through in places - next book is still on my TBR list 1 Stars - DNF
