That’s how you wake up hungover, having spent your entire life savings on a first edition of Pride and Prejudice… that your cat just peed all over.
To make matters worse, you also drunkenly emailed every Ivy League university last night and sold the nearly priceless cat-pee book to Dartmouth.
In my defense, I was celebrating finally getting my masters degree in library science with a focus in book restoration from Oxford University.
And let’s be honest, I’m sort of awesome when drunk. I not only leveraged a book sale for a profit, but I also talked my way into an eight-week freelance gig restoring books in my hometown of New Hampshire at the Dartmouth library.
What’s less awesome? Realizing the Dartmouth English Literary professor who hired me is actually Adam, the ex-boyfriend that I ran away from seven years ago. My first love. My first kiss. My first… everything.
And as it turns out, Adam has very much turned into every dreamy hero I’ve read about in every romance novel through the years. It might be time for me to put the book down and write my own Happily Ever After…
Katana Collins is a USA Today bestselling author of over twenty novels, novellas, and comic books in a variety of genres. She is most known for her sensual contemporary romances and her wildly popular comic book— Batman White Knight Presents: Harley Quinn with DC Comics.
When she was younger and stole her mother’s Harlequins to read beneath the covers with a flashlight, she wanted to read about the tough as nails heroine. The perfectly imperfect girl with quirks and attitude and sass. And the anti-heroes who were anything but “Prince Charming.” Forget the knight on a white horse … she wanted the bad boy on a motorcycle.
An avid animal lover, she lives in Portland, Maine with her kind of mean cat, derpy lab-pitt mix, mellow chihuahua, and very not mellow cairn terrier puppy. Oh, yeah… there’s a husband somewhere in that mix, too.
She can usually be found in a coffee shop with her nose buried in a laptop wearing fabulous (albeit sometimes impractical) shoes.
She loves connecting with book lovers like herself, and fellow sassy storytellers, so feel free to drop her an email, visit her on her website. She also loves connecting on Instagram, Facebook or in her reader group, Kat’s Kittens!

It was romantic and had great jokes, especially Star Wars Ones! 😂. I felt like I was watching a Romcom movie with this book. I loved the story so much and the ending was perfection. I’d recommend it for anyone who loves a short and sweet romance!
Aside from the clever book puns and corny Star Wars jokes, the thing I love about this one is the emphasis on rare books. So many people these days place little value on old things or preserving them, but think of the history just one old copy of a classic must have. If books could talk…
Harper Meyers and Adam Stone were in love as teenagers. Then something happened and she ran away. Seven years later, thanks to too much alcohol and a rare book shopping spree, Harper is leaving England and headed to Dartmouth College, where Adam works, to restore some of their rare books that were damaged.
I adore a good second-chance romance, and this one is sweet and funny, with a side of steam and a nice dose of heart. I was intrigued by rare book restoration and loved the glimpses of it included here. Harper and Adam are so cute together and perfect for each other and I cheered for them throughout this quick, lighthearted read. Charming, clever, and so much fun, don’t miss this wonderful second-chance romance!
ARC REVIEW ✨I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.✨
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️
“Bookworm” by Katana Collins was a fun and quick read. The plot’s fast paced and got me reading the book in less than a day. Harper and Adam’s chemistry was through the roof. Their Star Wars puns were adorable. I also loved reading about Harper’s job on rare book restoration. It was interesting learning about the process of restoring a book back to it’s original form.
Harper and Adam’s romance also got me crying. Reading about how they felt when they broke up in high school and also about their lives before they got to see each other again made me shed some tears. After all that happened to them, it was heartwarming when they finally got their HEA 💜.
4.5⭐️ Medium burn✔️ Second chance romance ✔️ Star Wars puns for days ✔️ This was the cutest little story! Thank you Literally Yours PR and Katana Collins for letting me be part of the ARC team for Bookworm. I adored everything about Harper and Adam’s story. I felt their heartbreak and then I felt the rekindling and the feelings that never fully went away. I socked .5 star because for me personally, I need some Spice with how hot and heavy the relationship between these two is. But still, This is definitely in my top 5 favourite ARCs, and i can’t wait to read more from this author.

This book was literally a breathe of fresh air! As a clumsy book girlie, this book gave me life!
Harper has just graduated high school and doesn't really know what she wants to do with her life. All she knows is that she loves Adam her boyfriend. On the night they first slept together, she overhears a conversation between Adam and his father. Seeing that Adam planned to break up with her when going to college and him not standing up for her to his father, Harper distances herself from Adam with no explain and leaves to explore the world.
Now 7 years later Harper has graduated with her masters from Oxford in librarian sciences. To celebrate said master she gets black out drunk & with the liquid courage buys a first edition Pride & Prejudice, which she sold to Dartmouth University and secured a job restoring some of their rare books. The downside, she doesn't remember any of it and her cat might have peed on the first edition book she just sold. To make matters worse she now has to work with her ex Adam in restoring the rare books at Dartmouth.
This book had me laughing multiple times. Like this girl's clumsiness just kept digging her into a bigger whole, but Harper is smart and when her mind is set on something she will do it!
I've been seeing more books that show how the MMC was just as hurt by break ups and I love it! Both Harper and Adam were now mature enough to get past their misunderstandings of 7 years ago. They both realize their mistakes and how they were young idiots. They didn't keep their grudges from keeping them from a HEA. Harper also knew that in order to push herself to do better she did need to deattach herself from Adam. In the end they were always meant to be!
I honestly hated Adam's dad, but Harper handled him with such maturity and got him on their side as well. The way they were such a huge family in the end🥺🥺
I've never watched Star wars, but I absolutely loved all the Star Wars puns🤣🤣

📌Review: Books? Romance? Ivy League University? You have checked all my boxes. I literally inhaled the book. When i read a book about books i just go crazy. I loved the story, and the romance. The characters had such a great chemistry and the plot was engaging.
📌Thoughts: If you love book, you should definitely read this one.
I would like to thank @literallyyourspr and @katanacollins for the free copy.
This novel is the sweetest little treat I needed in my life during these past few weeks and I was so thrilled to receive an ARC for this!
This novel follows Harper Meyer, a book restorer, as she navigates life from being with her high school sweetheart Adam, to never seeing him again for another 7 years due to a on a drunken purchase of a rare first edition of Pride & Prejudice and a certain phone call to a Dartmouth University where Adam just so happened to graduate from.
From the moment Harper arrived back in the states, she was awestruck and giddy with love all over again with Adam and it seemed as their love had never gone away.
Harper and Adam both worked together to restore rare novels and to also restore the love they shared back in high school. Though their newfound love had the complications of adulthood and simply, life, the universe had its way of working its magic and everything fell happily into place.
With their bond of never-ending love of the Star Wars franchise, it melted my heart into a huge puddle to see the novel end the way it did. Absolute perfection 👩🏼🍳 🤌🏻
Thank you so much Literally Yours PR and Katana Collins for this amazing opportunity, I will now devour every novel you write 😅
Now to continue reading on my other arc of steamy cowboy romance… 🤠🫶🏻
Oh man! This book is so good. I absolutely adored it. Bookworm made me laugh out loud so many times and in literal tears other times. U seriously love when a book can give you all the feels.
This is a second chance romance about Harper and Adam. They dated when they were younger and something happened to cause them to break up when they were eighteen. Need to read to find out what caused this.
Seven years later, Harper finished school at Oxford studying to restore classic books. On a black out drunk night with her best friend, not only did she buy an expensive hard to get book, but she called and talked to many Universities about said book and coming to restore them. She sees she had an over an hour conversation with someone from Dartmouth and agreed to bring book.
When Harper gets to Dartmouth, she finds Adam there waiting for her since he's the one working there and who she talked to.
Adam is nervous and also glad to see Harper. He missed her but they have lots to talk about. Will Harper and Adam be able to have the talk they should have had years ago? Or will it all go bad and Harper head back to London? You need to read this amazingly fun book to find out!
As a fellow bookworm, this cover and book caught my attention, books about books are my jam. Bookworm by Katana Collins begins with Harper and Adam as high school sweethearts and the pair of them losing their v-card. That night though, which should have been the height of their relationship was also the worst as that night the pair of them also broke up. Adam went to Dartmouth to study and Harper ended up at Oxford University. Now seven years later, the pair of them are back in the same place at Dartmouth as Harper has been hired to restore some rare books after a small fire broke out in their rare book room. We can see the sparks still fly between Adam and Harper and of course, we can see how things end up. The thing though is that there is someone beautiful and approved by Adam's father Elijah vying for Adam's attention. Can Harper and Adam work out their history and move forward together? This book was exciting as I would have loved to study book restoration as it has always sounded exciting, I also loved the fact that Harper had studied her Masters of Library Science as I too studied it and got my Diploma in Library and Information Services. Bookworm by Katana Collins is the perfect read for any romance reader who loves books and books and geeky quirky characters.
Now that Harper has finished school, she is planning on putting her love of books to good use. To celebrate the happy event, she enjoys a few drinks too many and then reaches out to the University in her hometown letting them know about the priceless book that is in her possession, even if it may now be a little tainted, and secures a job even if she isn’t sure how.
It’s been seven years since Adam has heard from Harper but speaking to her and seeing her again brings up all the dormant feelings from the past. When she arrives, he is disappointed when he realizes she hasn’t only forgotten their conversation but the fact that they are working together and that is when the hijinks begins to amp up.
The way that Harper and Adam interact is entertaining as they both still feel the emotional impact of the past. They have both matured and grown while they have been separated but they will also have to deal with what drove them apart in the first place.
The joy and frustration felt by Harper over spending her entire savings on a 1st edition Pride and Prejudice was portrayed such that I thought my savings were gone!
Adam is about to lose his job from the mistakes of others, and his response to said actions. Getting an email offering the rare book and finding out the seller restores books might just save him. Oh, and the seller, his high school girlfriend. But that won't cause complications, it never does....
Harper doesn't remember the conversation with Adam when the deal was struck, she doesn't even remember that it was Adam she spoke to, so seeing him at the airport picking her up, a shock to her system.
Working with the one who got away is never sunshine and rainbows, but if both feel that way, the sexual tension is felt through the pages.
What a delightful, fun and heartwarming story. I loved that this story was about historical book preservation…I learned so much as I read.
The phone call that changed everything…lol
Harper’s so funny, clumsy, sweet and a bit sassy. She is determined to prove she is smart, successful and good at her craft.
Adam is a kind man who’s trying to right the wrongs of his past with Harper. He’s dealing with some family baggage that had impacted his relationship with Harper in the past…will it affect their future?
This second chance romance has its bumps in the road but these two are a great pair, have many laughs and great banter. They work so well together…even though they have some crazy accidents. Lol
This is Adam and Harper’s story. After too much alcohol, and a shopping spree of rare books, Harper reaches out to Dartmouth College, and secures a job to restore some of their rare books which are a little damaged, only to find out that he ex-boyfriend Adam, is the English Literary Professor, whom is her first love, first kiss, and the man she ran from 7-years previously. This is a well-paced easy to read story, which has humor, witty banter, second chances, emotions, romance, and love, which leads to an entertaining, fun, sweet, and light-hearted page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
This is another strong, short and quick read romantic comedy that will delight your inner sci-fi fan. Filled with fun references to Star Wars and other classic science fiction that I grew up with. You will be rooting for Harper and Adam to get together and cheering during their snarky banter for these two to just get together again. I loved that Collins made me feel the awkwardness of Theo story and made that feel part of her writing. Equal parts frustrating and swoony. You will be rooting for Harper And Adam to get their second chance romance and prove that love really is worth all the awkwardness. This book was a fun And delightful Weekend read
This is another easy-to-read story that I recommend. It centers around antique books and their restorations. Thrown in is a second chance story, full of Sci-Fi references and puns.
Both Adam and Harper have a love for antique books. One disastrous event (thank you, Jules), and Harper has a huge task ahead of her. It certainly doesn't help her concentration when her ex works at the college she's now working from.
This couple is fun, has cute banter and good chemistry. I was frustrated with both of them throughout this read, for different reasons, but I enjoyed their journey to their HEA.
I adored this book. I love the emphasis it put on rare books. I feel there is not enough appreciation for rare books and antiques. This book was sweet, heartfelt, and hilarious. It is a very quick and lighthearted read with some spice. The plot had me very intrigued.
Harper and Adam are perfect for each other. They are both bookworms but also compliment each other in other ways. Harper and I would probably be best friends.
If you like second-chance romances, that is clever with the book puns and bad star wars jokes this is for you.
In all honestly, I enjoyed the fact that she restored old books more than I enjoyed the romance. I found their relationship abrupt and got a bit tired of the misunderstandings and the way they handled those misunderstandings.
I enjoyed their banter and thought they were a great couple barring the aforementioned misunderstandings. I also loved the familial love and the closeness of her and her stepmom. This book had some really great relationships in it!
It was a fun, quick read and I am definitely going to be reading more books from this author.
ARC Review ✨️ ☆The cutest bookworm♡ Harper is a total bookworm that specializes in fixing old, antique books. Adam is her love from the past. When they reunite on a fluke, they have another chance at love. Of course, if Adam's father stays out of the way. I adored this story so much! I really loved the restoration of the antique books. That's such a uniquely beautiful job to have. Harper and Adam were amazing. Harper's personality is bubbly, and she's a total sweetheart. Adam needs to take a lot of reflection on his part and his father's part, but he is still a great character. One of my favorite parts was the Star wars references 😍 Also Harper's bestfriend 🙌 the bond they formed with their friendship, was beautiful. The author did a wonderful job writing this book, and I can't wait to read more from her!
Thanks for the ARC opportunity for the author. As always, this is an honest, voluntary review.
This was a full 5 stars for me. Really, this was such a fun read. The characters and the story were adorable. I love a good second chance romance as any other girl and this served big time. This was sweet and funny. I mean, the book puns? Corny Star Wars jokes? Sign me up.
Harper and Adam were both characters I couldn't not love and I rooted for them so much.
Really, if you want something light and fun what is also clever and gives a bit of a glimpse of rare books, too, this is for you.
Book worm is the newest standalone by Katana Collins, and the first book by this author that I have read. I loved reading and following Harper and Adam's second chance humorous romance. After graduating with her Masters, she get drunk to celebrate, then purchases a rare book, and then sells it and gets her dream job. Only this job comes complete with an ex boyfriend with humorous results. I fond this book a joy to read and highly recommend it to anyone who loves romantic comedies.
I fell in love with these two in shortcake. 🍰 it’s so sad that they broke up or had those gap years without each other. This is the sweetest second chance romance. To see them grow from teenagers running from communicating with each other to young adults talking to each other. They have a timeless love. Oh and those Star Wars puns 😂 these two are just the cuties can’t express it enough!
This is such a cute, lighthearted read. Harper and Adam reuniting was so sweet and I LOVED watching Harper’s passion for restoring books take center stage. The evolution of that passion and the opportunities it brings her makes my heart happy. There are so many Star Wars puns and although I know just the basics, all of the puns were kept surface level enough for even me to appreciate.
This book was cute. I love all the earlier books in this series but this one was only ok. It could’ve used another read through because there’s some errors that make it confusing. The conflict is weak and resolves so suddenly it gives you whiplash. I love an academia romance novel tho so I can’t complain too much.
Bookworm by Katana Collins was a surprising delightful read. This quick cozy romance was a great read. Lighthearted and fun. The star wars puns were great. Loved this second chance romance focused on bookworms absolutely fantastic!
It was a pretty cute book! A nice quick read. It had the cliche second chance romance, but I think it was written well! A great way to get people interested in book restoration as well!
This book had so many laugh out loud moments, plus the great chemistry I give this book a ten. The characters were written very well, the different innuendos was great, just an all around great book.
A quick fun read that sees the hero and heroine reunited in a kind of meet cute second chance romance. Harper and Adam had been high school sweethearts but with Adam off to Dartmouth and Harper about to embark on a gap year until she decided the direction she wanted her life to take, life was about to change just not in way she expected. Fast forward seven years and Harper, now a graduate of Oxford University is about to embark on her new career as a book restorer. It’s just a pity copious amounts of alcohol means she doesn’t remember she didn’t remember her frantic job search which in turn means that when she arrives at the airport in New Hampshire, the last person she expects to greet her is a certain professor from Dartmouth named Adam.
With likeable characters in both the hero and heroine and an engaging story I loved Harper and Adam in Bookworm. They had so much history together in all the ways that matter. From the Star Wars puns, some of which were dire to their bickering over the best Jules Verne novel, there was just something so heart-warmingly nerdy about them for me. With the animosity between their respective fathers, they were like a modern-day Romeo and Juliet although Harper would argue theirs wasn’t really a romance. Perhaps Adam was just a little too nice but then again not every hero has to be a bad boy and I did feel a twinge for Adam when he learnt that Harper had totally forgotten her call to him. I had visions of him spending hours agonising over what to wear/say/do at their reunion only for her to have forgotten he’d even be there. The only thing that I’m missing and would’ve loved to read in this book would’ve been to know what was said during the infamous phone call.
Harper is a certified bookworm. She goes back to her hometown after getting a job to restored old valuable books at a prestige university. It’s her dream come true, the only problem is that she is met with her ex boyfriend (her first love). Things didnt go so well for them when they were eighteen. Now, seven years later, will it be different ?
This book made me laugh so much especially the part where Harper and Adam were nervous around each other. My favorite part was “sir strokes a lot”. This book made me tear up with sadness, laughter, and of course tears of happiness. The book troupes were miscommunication, second chance, forced proximity, and high school sweethearts.
This was an enjoyable read that I’m sure any bookworm would love to read especially if they are in a mood for a cute romance book. Appreciate the Star Wars jokes as well!! 10/10 would recommend ❤️❤️
