Just beyond human perception, divinity and evil bear witness to both good and bad events in the mortal world. Transcendental law demands the separation of these dark forces and they are forbidden to communicate with one another. Sarenah is a devoted and strong Warrior Angel who, while obediently watching over a human incident, meets an evil presence she is inexplicably drawn to. She knows he is a demon and is well aware of the rules, but something about him causes her allegiance to waver and the strength of a warrior angel is no match to the pull of love … or is it lust? Draco is her opposite, a Warrior Demon and highly regarded in Hell. He, too, feels the pull toward Sarenah and desires her without any clue as to why. He mistakes her true identity because of her appearance—dark hair and black wings—and unbeknownst to him at the time, he falls for an Angel. During their brief meeting they share a passionate kiss and, the instant they connect, everything changes. Heaven and Hell will stop at nothing to keep them apart, which raises more questions than the two have answers for. Draco is thrown into prison and Sarenah undertakes a relentless search for him which leads her to a realm she doesn’t belong. With the protection of the light about to cease, her heart and mind repeat one word incessantly, one she cannot ignore … Draco. Will the truth about their mysterious pasts be revealed in time for her to rescue him? Or will outside powers intervene and destroy her in the process?

HOLY CRAP! WHAT DID I JUST READ? I honestly had no idea what I was diving into when I opened this book. I read a snippet on Sara's page about a month ago and I was in love. I just knew I had to have this book. A friend of mine gifted it to me(THANK YOU SO MUCH!), and now Sara and Wendy have a new fan. Oh. My. Sweet. Merciful. Lord.

You don't expect it. You don't even have the slightest impression that what you're about to embark on will end as this book did. HOLY. FLIPPING. NUGGETS. I just don't have words, okay? I love angel and demon stories, but this book is on an entirely different level. It's out of this world. Sure, it might seem like your typical good falls in love with evil song....but trust me. TRUST. ME. This isn't like anything you've ever read before.

I adored the character of Saint. He made my heart pitter patter. I loved the MF and MM as well, but Saint won my affections by simply being the amazing fellow he was. I highly recommend this book and I give it five massively, heavenly, devilishly wicked, brilliant stars. I'm officially a fangirl!

Wow, was this book ever good!

I absolutely loved this story. Demons. Angels. Witches. The insta-connection between Draco and Sarenah... the world being created around you... the surprise fantastical ending. Amazing! Heaven and Hell literally could not keep them apart.

There are so many characters introduced in this story. As a reader, you get to delve inside each of their heads and not once did I grow bored with it. Each character had a distinct appearance and temperament that made it easy to keep track of everyone. Sara has done an amazing job describing horridly memorable demons and their vivid surroundings in Hell.

Side note: Was Eric Satan? I need to know. :-P

I couldn't put this book down. In fact, I only put it down once... in the wee morning hours. Even sleep deprivation couldn't stop me from finishing this story the next day. I read it in less than 24 hours and I worked all day! I think that's my new record.

This is a five star read, if you ask me!

I was gifted a copy of this book, and I am glad to have received it! I’m always looking for a new book to read by a new-to-me author. I read almost any type of book that catches my eye. This book was no exception to that. Zook took me to a whole different place in the first book of her Sempiternal series, Evanescent.

The book is about two main characters that are being kept from one another by Heaven and Hell. Sarenah is an angel, but her wings are black, which she has no explanation for. Draco is a very strong, warrior demon who is in top standing in Hell. Angels and demons are not supposed to interact with each other in any way. EVER! But for some reason unknown to them, they are instantly and deeply attracted to one another as soon as they see each other…..

Instant, intense passion at first sight? Yes, please! People plotting to keep them apart? Sounds familiar, right?! Yes, it does. But it’s not. There are so many things that you are not told in this book that will eventually come out in later books. Instead of making that a bad thing, Sara has a way of making you want more, instead of not reading anymore. That is a gift that’s hard to come by in a good book these days. I am anxious to see how the chemistry between Sarenah and Draco expands in future books in the series!

Having said that, since saying much more will spoil things for you, I can tell you that I am glad to have this book, and I can’t wait to read the next book! Zook sets up the next book very nicely! If you like paranormal/fantasy/romance this is one book you will love!

So, I might have read the entire book while waiting to get into a restaurant for my dad's birthday. Yes, the wait was two hours, but STILL! This book was SO good! I started reading it, finished it at the dinner table, and was done before our food arrived. The characters drew me in, and while I want a tad more detail, otherwise, the book couldn't have been more perfect!

While the book was told from many points of view, the main character was Sarenah. Sarenah knew from page one that she wasn't human, heck, she'd been an angel, and a special one at that, for a few thousand years! That's right, Sarenah's an angel, and a kick-butt one at that! She's always done what she's told, but after the events at the beginning of the story, she starts to step out of the carefully lined box that she's lived in all her life. Sarenah was definitely a fun main character, and even though she had years of being supernatural under her belt, it still felt as if she was discovering herself.

The plot of this book was FAST! Something new was always happening, and I couldn't stop turning pages. The backstory of the characters was really interesting, and I honestly did not see it coming. The writing was superb! I loved being immersed in this story and can't wait for the next book. The surprises kept coming and coming, and by the end, my jaw was nearly on the floor in shock. Plus, the male protagonist Draco? Complete and utter swoon! Definitely check out this book, it is worth the read! I can't not give this book five stars!

This book has everything...Heaven vs. Hell, witches, dragons.......Sarenah is one of Heaven's warrior angels. Yet she also watches over humans. While waiting to help at a house fire, she sees evil lurking. As she keeps watch, she is drawn to the demon that is there. Draco, the demon, doesnt know what it is but he wants to get closer to the other immortal there. Because Sarenah has dark hair and black wings, Draco doesnt know she is a holy angel. The draw between them ends up in a kiss..forbidden on both sides. Draco is pulled back to Hell and thrown in a cage because of the kiss, Sarenah is being watch closely. Neither Heaven or Hell want the two together. Sarenah, cant get him out of her head, and cant find him. So she does what she has to...enter Hell!!

I WANT MORE!

I was given Evanescent in exchange for an honest review. It’s been awhile since I first read this book, and I forgot to write my review. So, I decided to read it again… and I remembered how much I loved it!

I didn’t expect to fall so hard for this book. I’ve read many demons versus angels books before, but NEVER like this. Sarenah and Draco’s story is intense. Full of hidden love, secrets & betrayal, and their story has only just begun!

Sara & Wendy did a great job creating a story that makes you want more! I will be definitely be grabbing the second book, and hopefully more after that:)

I highly recommend Evanescent to anyone searching for something old with a new twist.

I was given this book as an ARC for an honest review.
I gave this book 5 Angelic Stars.

This is Sarenah and Draco's story.
And what a story it is.
This is a little on the short side, but was still amazing read and did not feel rushed at all.

Sarenah is an Angel, she is different then most angels she has black wings and black hair. She keeps to herself and does the jobs that she is assigned to do. At one job in particular she runs into Draco. Draco is a warrior for Hell, and he does his job well. One of the rules though is to never mix with the light. AND never mix with the dark. But Sarenah and Draco are drawn to each other like magnets. He does not realize that she is an Angel of the light. They come together and share a moment between each other, and from that moment nothing will be the same. What will happen to Draco for crossing a line he didn't know he was crossing? And the question is what will happen to them as a couple? Will they be able to be together when there is a clear line between Heaven and Hell?

This book is so much more then what you think it is. There is a clear story line here, and it is packed full of surprises. It is not a sappy love story that will make you feel all warm and fluffy. This is about war and lost lives. And second chances. Yes Draco is from Hell, But I can guarantee that you will be rooting for him by the time this book ends. Not only is he mysterious and a bad boy. He is something beyond unique. No spoilers for you! Gotta read it!!

I look forward to reading what is next for these two, and also for the two angels, and Rebecca. You will not be disappointed in this book give it a shot. Thank you for a wonderful book..

Let me start by saying, "who doesn't like angel and demons"? There is a significant draw to heaven and hell, light and dark. Evanescent was captivating and intriguing, leaving the reader to wonder what would come next and who exactly Sarenah and Draco were. I even loved the supporting characters like Tabian and Saint. Their points of view were insightful and a bit sad. To see that both of them had powerful feelings for Sarenah and know they weren't returned like that at all was tough. Just goes to show you that relationships of any kind are hard to navigate. I am totally in love with this series already! I absolutely need to know what happens next!

I received this book as a gift and I'm so glad that I read it. You will be too! Sara and Wendy have a new and devoted fan! Thanks, ladies and I'm looking forward to what comes next!

Sarenah and Draco spend just a few minutes together but are instantly drawn to one another and can't stop thinking about it afterward and they're not sure why. She is from the light and he is from the dark and they are supposed to have nothing to do with one another. I was intrigued by this story. Something is going on and they have to figure out what it is. I liked the differing points of view so we could see different sides of the story. I would have like to see more of Sarenah and Draco together, but that just makes me look forward to the next book. I can't wait to see where the series goes from here.

Sometimes, when you feel a pull towards someone, and your eyes lock with theirs, you feel comfortable, at home, safe.
Sometimes, you can't help but run into their arms. And sometimes, you know that you belong.

Evanscent is the first book I have read of Sara and Wendy's. I couldn't put it down once I started reading it. I'm a sucker for love, adventure, and paranormal beings. I found it all right here, in this book, along with a hatred for a demon.

You will love Draco and Sarenah's story. I can't wait for more!

I was gifted this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Sarenah is an warrior angel from heaven. She isn't like the other angels. She has black wings and keeps to herself. One night she meets a demon named Draco. They are instantly drawn towards one another. Sarenah can't explain these feelings she is having from touching and being near Draco. Angels aren't supposed to feel any emotions so why does she Their meeting sets a series of events to keep them apart. This story had a unique twist on angels and demons. I was pleasantly surprised and I look forward to the next book!

This book will not allow you to put it down. I love that each chapter is written from a different character's perspective. I feel like I know every character-I saw what they saw and I felt what they felt. Evanescent is not predictable and will grasp a hold of your imagination until the very end. You will not regret purchasing this book. It is certainly a refreshing addition to the paranormal/fantasy genre. I can't wait for the second installment of the series!
