I can’t believe this book hasn’t gotten more attention! This book had some of the same things I liked about the New Species books but with young adults and a government controlled cadre of super soldiers involved. We got to see Jaycee and crew learn how to navigate the world after having been raised in a government lab, and we got a glimpse of a small portion of the powers behind the scenes, but there was so much that remains a mystery, including the fate of their team and mission. Hoping the author is going to continue the series.

Regulators is that coming of age story we all know and love but with a secret twist.
We all go through that weird teenage stage of figuring ourselves out but what happens if you had never known anything about yourself or the outside world? What happens when teens/young adults, who are nothing more than trained soldiers, are thrown into the world they have never known or experiences? They are soldiers, trained to take out the enemy but now, they have….. feelings.
That’s what you’re here to find out!
Regulators is a fun and funny read. Perfect for the spring and summer seasons with this light read. Reading what these young adults are just figuring out for the first time made me think back to my teen years(I’m currently 33). It had me laughing and saying “oh no🤦🏻♀️”. Young adults get themselves into a lot of trouble or they can. So imagine teen soldiers, who have never experienced anything. Lots of fumbling and mishaps but with a cute and quirky bunch. I did say it’s a light and breezy read but it does touch on some topics that aren’t so light and fun, even if it’s only briefly. However, it’s easy to get sucked into this book and into the world of the Regs, Gens, and Coms. The ending will have you on the edge of your seat and wanting more like it did me. I ordered book 2 before I even finished this one. It was that good. Each of the 5 characters has something about them that makes you want to know more about them and feel more right along with them. Regulators transports you back to those teenage feelings but in a good way( if you’ve already lived those years 😆). If you’re a younger reader you will probably understand how they feel as you are living it right now. This book can bring generations together because we all understand how they feel besides being super soldiers.
Like every book C.Miller has written there is a lesson to learn. Everyone is different. Everyone’s brains work differently, even genetically modified super soldiers. What works for one person might not work for the person right next to them. We need to learn to take time to understand and have compassion for others.

A twist on the dystopian story line that will have you entangled in the story from the beginning.
Imagine being raised in a lab, by people who don't promote feelings, attachments or family. Imagine being born and raised for the sole purpose of killing, a programed soldier meant to do one job and one job only - regulate the enemies, take them out. Follow commands without emotion.
But what happens when these teen soldiers are suddenly in the world - a world they have never known, have never experienced? How do you navigate something that you didn't know existed and how, how in the world do you navigate the emotions that come with living in the real world with other people who have feelings and friendships?
This book is so unique and such a fun short read! I am so surprised that it has not gained more attention. Although, the writing is the same in most of Miller's books (always deep and thoughtful) this one has a fun edge that makes you question just how our conditioning effects us - the whole nature versus nurture argument, Pavlov's Dogs and so on and so forth.
Simply a delight.

Regulators is a moving exploration of discovering emotions and connections for the first time after growing up in a laboratory that creates soldiers and then being sent out on a mission to experience life in the real world.
It's a heartfelt portrayal of what it means to feel truly alive for the first time. I am looking forward to continuing Jaycee's story in Book 2

It was absolutely amazing to see how Jaycee sees the world for the first time. Seeing through the eyes of a new born adult is one of the most unique pov I've read! Different in a way I have not read, if you pick up a copy you will love it as much as I did!

This was so good. I hate books that end on cliffhangers but for once I am actually excited to see what happens next. The characters were intriguing. The way they started to figure things out was so good.

This was an interesting read and overall I enjoyed it. The characters were raised with very limited knowledge or exposure to real life and reading their experiences was like seeing the world through children’s eyes for the first time. Although I enjoyed the interactions of the characters and the growth of their relationships as they navigated through their new exposures I’m still a bit confused as to the why. Why were they made and why are they on a mission? What is the mission? There is a lot of talk of sexual natures, but nothing beyond kissing is ever done. The ending leaves a lot of questions and I hope there will be another book that will fill in the blanks.

JCE-286 has spent every day almost the same as the last in her life as a genetically modified soldier. Her selected best friend informs her of any deviance, even the difference of 1 minute and 37 seconds, and they attend specialized, segregated classes. So, when she is called to the office and told that she will be grouped with 3 other Regs to be sent out to the real world, she has no idea what to expect. JCE-286 is passable as a Reg, but how will she fair as Jaycee in the real world?
Once outside the walls of the training facility that has been her home all her life, Jaycee discovers just how much she has missed in her life. Regs are not allowed to see the sunlight, feel the grass, or even cook. Literally everything is a new experience to understand and overcome, with a deadline of just 2 months to assimilate and protect the secret of the Regulators.
C Miller has yet another hit series in the works here! Despite discovering the world and all its many wonders, Jaycee is still reminded constantly that she is property, not a person. The way that Miller writes her protagonist, there is a clear struggle within Jaycee to decide if life is worth living knowing that she was only created to serve a purpose. Should the fear of death keep a person from really living?
Miller illustrates an uncanny representation of how it would be to be a stranger to the world. The description of many of everyday items is so unusual, it takes a minute to figure out what she is describing. While this may pose some frustration, it's as if someone placed common items like a phone and a wallet in front of a caveman and asked him to describe them. It makes the whole narration seem incredibly authentic. Miller's way of diving into her characters and writing with the protagonist's eyes is what I love about her writing!

I loved everything!
This incredible story kept me in suspense until the end!
The main character of Jaycee, the way she expresses herself, feels and sees things is totally moving and addictive.
The suspenseful ending is incredible!
