"I'm not always right, but I am never wrong"

Book 5 in the Cooper Harrington Series does not disappoint. I am really enjoying this series. The reason I began reading it in the first place was that it is set in Nashville, TN. It references places I am familiar with, so it's easy to visualize being there. That's not far from me, and I visit there often, so I was intrigued.

Cooper and AB are at a secluded estate for a fundraiser gala that features a staged murder mystery. While looking for clues to the staged murder, Coop and AB stumble upon a real murder. The victim is a prominent politician who is currently running for office. The event organizers are concerned that this may damage the gala's reputation, so they hire Coop to investigate and find the person who could have committed this crime. With the attendants of this gala being politicians and the rich and famous this will not be an easy task.

Until the murderer is found, this book immerses the reader in the political realm and the private lives of the elite through deceit and intrigue. If you are a fan of a great mystery with a lot of suspects, twists & turns and a surprise ending, you will love this series.

Since the first book, I have adored Coop. The reader is captivated by the eccentric characters' unique characteristics and is eager to learn more about them. And then there's Coop's faithful friend Gus! It's impossible to resist falling in love with the golden retriever.

The newest addition to the Cooper Harrington Detective Novels Series by Tammy L. Grace does not disappoint. I am a huge fan of this series. I even reread all the previous books in preparation for this new book. It was so wonderful to go back and visit with Coop, AB, Aunt Camille and Charlie, Cooper’s dad and, of course, Gus.

Set in Nashville Tennessee, the story opens with the group attending a gala at a fabulous mansion. When a politician is found dead in the library the mystery begins. This book brings together high society, political figures, those involved in the music industry and our engaging crew of sleuths.

The story is intricate and weaves through many possible suspects. The ending, at least to me, led to a killer who was a total surprise to me as a reader.

I highly recommend this book. If you know Nashville Tennessee you will recognize many of the locations mentioned as part of the mystery. But to really enjoy the setting, stories, and the characters I recommend you read the entire five book series.

I thoroughly enjoy this series. I’ve read all the books in the series! All the characters are enjoyable and believable. i’m a dog person so I especially like Gus. in this book, Coop’s Dad, Charlie is still in town. I like the fact that he gets along with aunt Camille and they enjoy each other’s company.
In this book, a murder occurs at a fundraising gala. Coop and AB are in attendance and are puzzled by the incident too. The event is at the home of the sponsors who hold the event yearly. They feel this murder will give the fundraiser a bad name so they ask Coop to help the police in solving the murder.
Making a list of suspects and interviewing them all becomes an undaunting task. The book from the murder on tells how Coop and AB dwindle the list but become stuck when trying to find the killer.
The killer is a surprise suspect. I didn’t suspect the killer and that keeps up the suspense. Who did it?
I can’t wait for book #6 to come out!

I am 100% LOVING this series!

Nashville's elite are gathered at a glamorous gala at a ritzy Chateau. Where there are politicians and money, there is greed and criminal activity. While a staged murder is at the forefront of the evenings planned events, a real crime is taking place behind the scenes.
This mystery, with all the suspects and possible motives, was intense !
There were some sleazebags and I had my suspicions, but the ending was still a surprise. I couldn't wait to get to it, then once I realized the end was coming, I was sad to think it was almost over. Seems like there is just no pleasing me!
Please, hurry up with the next book - I can't wait to see what happens next. A trip back to Florida sounds nice with maybe a kidnapping thrown in? No matter what Ms. Grace has planned, I am certain it will be another gripping page-turner.

I really love this series by Tammy Grace. In Deadly Deception, Coop and AB have their hands full in trying to discover who killed a prominent candidate at a murder mystery gala fundraiser at a private estate. Coop and AB accompany his father Charlie and his Aunt Camille to the gala, looking forward to having a great meal and fun evening. But not long after they begin looking for clues in the murder mystery game, a real murder is discovered. The Sullivans, who were the hosts for the fundraiser, hire Coop to work to uncover the murderer and to help restore their good reputation. Because there were so many prominent members of society and politicians, this will not be an easy task. So many twists and turns, always keeping you guessing until the very end. I was not expecting the ending at all. Such a great read, and looking forward to Coop’s next case in Book #6.

Thank you to the author for the ARC. This review is my own opinion. Coop and AB find a politician dead at a fund raiser. Michelle was a candidate for Congress. She had a lot of enemies and therefore, a lot of possible killers. Coop is hired by the fund raiser couple because Michelle was killed in their home. There was a surprise ending that I didn’t see coming. This is a great series and although each book stands alone, the series is much more enjoyable if you start at the beginning as the characters carry over. You meet Coop’s right-hand assistant, AB, his dog, Gus, his Aunt Camille and his dad. There’s also his very annoying mother, Marlene, who keeps calling him collect from jail!

Nicely Twisted Murder Mystery
This is the fifth book in a series that would best be enjoyed by reading in order. Each book is a complete mystery, but the back story is continually growing, just like real life. This is a clean mystery with no foul language, no gore, no violence, and no bedroom scenes. There is a nice amount of humor which lightens up the dark subject matter. The ending is an unexpected twist that is a nicely satisfying ending. I have read these first five books of the series straight through and have really enjoyed them. I now need to wait for the author to write another one for me to read!

The Coop Harrington series is an even paced read with comfortable characters laced with humor and drama. I look forward to the next case that Coop and A.B. Are called on to solve. There’s just enough friendship between them that while you want them to become romantic you are satisfied with their friendship. The conveyance of love between Coop and his family and his dog, Gus, is just enough to keep you in your feels. I drool over Coop and Policeman Ben’s Friday breakfasts and the meals Aunt Camille makes. Hope other readers enjoy this series as much as I have.

Great to catch up with the wonderful characters in the Cooper Harrington mysteries. As usual this was a page turner and kept me guessing from the beginning with numerous suspects and a very unexpected twist. With a medical background in the OR I was constantly trying to make connections with the character backgrounds and the drug used in the murder. Tammy has done another wonderful job and the characters in these books are so remarkable and likable that it really is hard to put the book down.

Wow what a twisted and heart breaking finale. This was a page turner that kept me guessing who done it. This book made me both sad and angry at the same time. In my opinion this was one of the best written mystery s I've had the pleasure to read! I really enjoyed the reference to a hometown favorite, "The Pickle Barrel". Lots of fond memories eating there. I highly recommend the Cooper Harrington Detective Novels series.

Really good! The characters really mesh well. The book is interesting, held my interest and had a good twist. The main character’s ring tone is the Perry Mason theme song. Since I am in the era of watching the Perry Mason series, I feel that the writer does a great job portraying her character as a sophisticated private investigator, with a soft heart for his relationships and of course his exceptional dog, Gus.

Great story

This one was a real twister and the ending was legally adequate but it wasn't very satisfying. I wanted more!
I love Cooper's sarcastic one line tee shirts! We learn more about him with each one.
I've enjoyed Coop's dad being around recently. I enjoy the relationship between Mr. Harrington and Aunt Camille.
I've never been one to want everyone in my book paired off but we have TWO couples just marking time!

Readers, you are in for a treat. I was fortunate to be an early reader on this latest addition to the series. Coop had got to be one of my all-time favorite detective characters, so I totally enjoyed this return to Nashville and catching up with him, Gus, AB, and the other regulars.

Coop and AB are on the case and there are many turns and plot twists. It will keep you on the edge of your seat until you reach the end. Loved it!

Deadly deception! Apt title

This is my first review of this series. I have read them all and really enjoyed them. I love the main characters and enjoy the mystery aspects of these books. Like I said in the title above this was a very deadly deception that kept me guessing the whole way.

Deadly Deception

Deadly Deception is book 5 of Tammy Grace’s series about Cooper Harrington, Detective. It was as much fun to read as her first 4 books. The characters are mostly the same but the adventures are different. It’s well worth the read.

Deadly Deception is book five and the newest installment of the Cooper Harrington Detective Novels written by Tammy L. Grace. I particularly love this series because it takes place in Nashville, Tennessee near where I reside. It is fun to try to figure out all the places Cooper visits as some of the names have been changed to protect the innocent. It is always fun to read a book that takes place in your area.

I enjoy each visit with Cooper and his family and friends. I think you will too if you haven’t had a chance to meet them yet. There is Cooper who is a down to earth guy and his lovable Golden Retriever named Gus. Tammy always delights me with at least one dog in her books. We also get to know Aunt Camille, Coop’s Dad Charlie, his assistant and good friend AB who I’m always hoping turns into more than a friend and another friend is Ben who is a detective on the police force. Oh! Let’s not forget his mother who is always getting in trouble and expecting Coop to bail her out. These are some of the most lovable and entertaining characters you will ever meet. I’m always excited when a new book is coming out in the series

The case to solve in this book is a woman who is murdered during a murder mystery gala event. There are many people there who had the opportunity and motive to kill a female politician. It is beginning to look like they might not solve the case and it’s going to be one of those cold cases. It is a near perfect crime and I will let you read the book and find out if Coop was able to solve the case or not. There are a lot of good twists and turns in this book which makes for the perfect mystery that we all love!

If you love a good murder story and like trying to figure out the culprit along with the detectives, then this book will be right up your alley. These books are all stand alone novels but, you will get better background information on the characters if you go back and read them from the beginning. Tammy L.
