Spirou und Fantasio auf Kuba!

Fidel Castro ist fuchsteufelswild! Überall um ihn herum wird intrigiert, um ihn aus dem politischen Spiel zu nehmen. Sogar seine eigenen Leute bieten ihm Zigarrenbomben an! Auf seiner Reise nach New York, wo er eine Rede halten soll, ist Castro völlig paranoid und auf der Hut. Im Gegensatz zu Spirou, der als Reporter über das Ereignis berichten möchte. Doch unser Page weiß noch nicht, dass er wegen eines Attentats auf Castro angeklagt und nach Kuba gebracht werden soll! Seine letzte Hoffnung ruht auf Fantasio und Steffani. Letztere ist bereits für eine Reportage vor Ort – und darf sich nur nicht vom charismatischen Che Guevara ablenken lassen...

Oletko koskaan halunnut lukea sarjakuvaa, jossa seikkailevat sekä Che Guevara että Marsupilami? Hyvä! Tässä sinulle on sellainen!

Vuoteen 1961 sijoittuvassa tarinassa Piko ja Fantasio päätyvät Kuubaan, jossa vallankumous on nostanut valtaan Fidel Castron ja kumppanit. Valitettavasti seikkailu on melko vaisunpuoleinen ja juonen huikea potentiaali hukataan melko jonninjoutavaan kohellukseen.

On sait pas trop à quoi sert ce nouvel album. L’intrigue en soi n’est pas inintéressante, mais les détours pour la raconter sont super plates. Il y a des longues séquences où il se passe rien et où les dialogues sont même pas drôles. Après trois pages inutiles de suite, tu te demandes quand même pourquoi ils ont imprimé ça. Visuellement c’est générique et sans vie. Le clin d’œil à l’époque Franquin-Greg, ce n’est que ça; un clin d’œil. Et encore, c’est fait à moitié, ce qui veut dire que l’œil reste fermé et qu’on s’endort d’ennui, cette banale entreprise aussitôt oubliée. Quel dommage.

J’ai souri devant les jeux de mots et d’esprits qui parsèment les pages. Je ne me rappelais pas qu’il y en avait, ma lecture du dernier Spirou remontant à facilement plusieurs années mais c’était sympa.
Le coup de crayon, pour certains personnages, m’a rendu nostalgique. J’ai eu l’impression de croiser Lucky Luke au détour de quelques pages et là, le label « Spirou et Fantasio Classique » a pris son sens. J’ai adoré les fulgurances qui ont pu se faire. Je ne m’y attendais pas alors c’était comme croiser un vieil ami dans un lieu totalement improbable.

L’action suit un rythme effréné. On ne s’ennuie pas et même si je n’ai pas compris les enjeux de l’Histoire qui se déroulait devant moi, j’ai tout de même été prise. C’était très agréable.

There’s a certain charm in seeing Spirou and his companions tangled up in the events surrounding the Bay of Pigs invasion. The album leans heavily into nostalgia, with an art style that lovingly evokes the Franquin era - a visual treat for long-time fans.

And yes, we’ve seen far worse Spirou stories in recent years. This one at least looks the part and flows well enough. But ultimately, it feels a bit too lightweight and inconsequential. The historical setting provides rich material, but the story doesn’t fully capitalize on it.

Pleasant, familiar, but also a little forgettable. A nostalgic nod rather than a bold new entry.

Fühlt sich mal wieder an wie ein klassisches Spirou Abenteuer, ohne dabei jedoch die Qualität der ersten Bücher zu erreichen.
Sollte das aber ein Weg sein, der so fortgesetzt wird freue ich mich auf jeden Fall auf mehr!

After quite some time it feels like a classic Spirou adventure, but without reaching the quality of the first books.
But if this is the way they are following now, I'm definitely looking forward to more!

Må innrømme at jeg alltid er litt skeptisk når jeg plukker opp nye Sprint-album. Det kan ofte gå begge veier. Noen ganger treffer man blink (Hei "Pacific Palace") andre ganger går det rett i dass (Hei "Sprint i Knipe"). Men heldigvis synes jeg denne leverte ganske godt. Var i bunn og grunn som å lese et Franquin-album med de klassiske tegningene. Mye moro og kos med Sprint og co.

Näyttää hyvältä, mutta jätti kylmäksi. Paljon hyviä aineksia, mutta niistä saatiin lopulta irti harmillisen vähän. Ei tästä nyt paha mieli tullut, mutta ei tarvitse lukea toiseen kertaan. Makuuhuonekatseinen Che Guevara oli parasta.
