Another powerful book which tells the autobiographical tale of drug addiction. Again, the very ordinariness of the women telling her story is what is disturbing. Nice kid at a nice school with what seems to be a nice boyfriend and a good future gets derailed by the dragon.
What is interesting about this book is all of the processes of denial she puts into place in order to not face her problem. What is scary about it is how easy it is to read and understand her slide into real addiction.
The book is written as a story may be told and this works quite well. Sadly, the book needs a good edit and something of a proofread.
A readable book but only worth reading if you have a specific interest in drug addiction.
(Chasing the dragon is a drug term used to describe, initially the process of heating heroin or opium and then inhaling the line of smoke. It ultimately also means chasing the high.)
Interesting book, quite an easy book to read. Gave me a bit on insight into how much denial goes on with addiction, both the addict and the family and friends around the addict. I also thought her relationships with men, that supported her addiction, was very depressing espially since they were not addicts themselves.
Another interesting fact was that she constantly had funds to support her addiction.
