Wilf is convinced his parents want nothing to do with him. When he isn't in school, he is left to his own devices or shipped away to camp. But at fifteen, Wilf is adamant that he is too old for summer camp. When his parents ignore his protests and ship him off anyway, he knows how he will get their attention: He will escape from camp by canoe and spend the rest of his vacation alone in the woods, proving to his parents he deserves his independence. His plan begins to unravel when his cabin mate forces Wilf to take him along. Things go from bad to worse when a younger camper follows them and they all end up in a fight for their lives against the unforgiving river.

I liked this story and would recommend it to anyone who likes adventure and quick read stories. Once I got into this book I couldn't put it down. This book is about a boy who is forced to go away to summer camp. He feels as if his parents are trying to get rid of him and he gets mad and rebellious. He creates a plan to ditch camp and have his own fun but things don't exactly go as planned.
Ce roman peut être très intéressant pour nos élèves qui n’aiment pas lire ou qui éprouvent des difficultés en lecture. L’histoire est captivante, brève et efficace … même si on voit la fin arriver très rapidement.
This book was pretty good. It had some boring parts, but overall it was a pretty good book.
This book had some very intense moments. One of them was when Wilf set out on his journey to escape camp wild. One part they Could fix is when Wilf gets to camp wild, the author gives too much detail.
Wilf in the beginning was being non great full for going to summer camp. At the end he realized he should of toughened through it, and waited for his parents to pick him up. The authors message is that if you don't want to do something, then don't just run away from it. I learned to never be selfish, and don't do something my parents wouldn't be happy about.

Wilf, 15, does not want to be sent off for summer camp. He's convinced his parents want nothing to do with him, and they just don't understand that he's way too old for Camp Wild, where's he's spent several summers as a kid. His plan from day one: run away. While he's making preparations in the first few days, he doesn't notice that two other campers know what he's been up to. When he winds up with two tagalongs to his escape, he can't control what might happen to them in the raging river they have to ride in order to get away.
Impossible to put down, I read this book from cover to cover in one sitting! I had some laughs getting to know the characters and by the middle of the book, I just HAD to know what they were going to get themselves into next. This is a little bit teen issues and a little bit adventure/survival.
the theme of this book was to make your life fun but always be safe and aware of others safety. In the book the main character goes to a boring camp with a lot of younger kids and when he finds out the he can make the camp fun for himself and one other by steeling boats and going down rapids to a camping spot unsupervised he decides to go for it. He later finds out that a young child has come along without him knowing. After he nearly drowns and the characters starve to death they are rescued. At the beggining of the book the main character would do anything to have fun but later realizes that he must be aware of himself and others safety.
This book is about a boy who thinks his parents send him to camp because his parents are too busy and he thinks they want to get away from him.By reading this book i have learned not to over react and never leave camp unless you have a supervisor.
This book is basically about a trip gone all wrong! have you ever been on a trip when you think it's the best but the trip really goes wrong and you could feel it happening.
Good story with lots of action once they left the camp. Would have been a good idea to explain some of the terms such as portage and eddy for those not familiar with them.
