New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cathryn Fox is a wife, mom, sister, daughter, aunt and friend. She loves dogs, sunny weather, anything chocolate (she never says no to a brownie) pizza and red wine. Cathryn lives in beautiful Nova Scotia with her husband, who is convinced he can turn her into a mixed martial arts fan. When not writing, Cathryn can be found Skyping with her son living in Seattle (could he have moved any farther away?) shopping with her daughter in the city, watching a big action flick with her husband, or hanging out and laughing with friends.
These two had some baggage to unpack! And no matter how much they said it was all in the past, it made its’ marks on their psyche. But while they were ignoring everything, they built a beautiful relationship and love story, full of heat, fun, and sweet moments. They got a bit lost when dealing with said past, but it didn’t take them long to realize all they had experienced while together, and that made their HEA beautiful and perfect for them <3
Hmm nee haha.
A new series with a ton of heart and the cutest little girl that will win over hearts with her lumpy pancake wishes.
Brighton White needs help with her failing resort and Noah Jones he needs help with his four year old daughter, Camryn. While these two people have known each other since childhood they did not hang out in the same social circles. Brighton was in the popular group, while Noah...I'll just say, wasn't. And while Noah did grow into his body and become a famous NHL player he still has his humility and is pretty down to earth. So while Brighton was actually a popular girl and ran with the crowd that used to pick on Noah before he grew into his body and looks, she's a woman who is more humbled from her life's experiences and now appreciates what life has given her. Is she a bit leery of Noah when he first arrives on the scene...for sure, but Noah is the same given his past around her. However, there is a lot of great banter and growing pains between the two of them as they figure out their new world.
"I'm not sure you heard, but I'm his nanny now." "Oh, really. does that mean you get to spank him when he's naughty."
On top of the new dynamic, there are also a lot of sweet daddy-daughter moments which also roll into a lot of sweet nanny-little girl moments too. Camryn Jones is big part of the plot, really a big reason and motivation for why Noah does a lot of what he does in this book, I mean who wouldn't want to do everything they can for their sweet little girl, but the other huge motivator in Noah's life is Brighton. At Noah's core he's a protector, a nurturer, and he wants to help her, so it's hard not to like him. Not one little bit.
Once Brighton eases into what's happening to her family resort, she is a much more engaging character and very easy to like as well. The grass isn't always greener when someone grew up with privilege and Brighton eases us into that view of loneliness to which gives Noah the opening he needs to view her with new eyes.
This is a mature hockey series, where the men are established in their careers and all of the stakes are higher. Cathryn Fox did an excellent job of beginning a new hockey series that covers topics like family, careers, living arrangements, you know...all of those adulting things...like bills-yuck, LOL - basically everything carries more weight and it shows.
What a great story! Brighton & Noah and his amazing daughter Camryn will steal your heart in this one! 5 hot hockey stars! Brighton was left her family's failing resort, and she needs a buyer who won't knock it down and put up a development. When her realtor let's her know he's found someone, and see's it's Noah. He's an NHL star who her group of friends growing up teased, and she's always wished she had stood up to them for that. When she finds out he wants to keep the resort as a resort, and wants her to become his nanny for his daughter Camryn, she's disappointed, but agrees. These two have a chemistry that is off the charts! They have a lot of healing to do from their pasts, but with each other, and Camryn, hopefully they can heal and move forward! Loved this story so much, grab it asap!
A definite five star must read! So beautifully written can't help but love Noah and Brighton he was bullied in high school she was part of the crowd but deep down she didn't want that to happen,he becomes a famous hockey star she his nanny but the sparks fly and past hurt is resolved and love blossoms! And is little girl Camryn is so sweet and the lumpy pancakes got to love that part of the story! You rock Cathryn Fox!!!
Taylor and Elias—he’s her brother’s best friend and hockey teammate and he stayed with them while he found his own house. She agreed to visit his family as his girlfriend to keep them from setting him up with someone else. How they get from a fake relationship to HEA is a challenge but they definitely make it. The story has some good humor in it and is engaging, though at times predictable. Some editing issues.
With a sense of humor that refuses to quit and a temptation of heart that reels you in, Stick Move is keeper. Spicy with a sweet center, Fox dares to push emotions to the edge. A seductive, heartwarmer with more than enough personality to spare.
It probably would have been 4 stars if not for the ridiculous break up and for the lack of proofreading (so many grammatical errors!) which took me right out of the story too many times. Also, for a series about hockey players, this first book was lacking....hockey!
Thought I'd give this one a go on audio, but could barely get passed the first chapter because the narrator was horrible. Sounded like it was just a guy reading the book. Might be better to read it than listen.
Just reread this book and it’s a good story with very little sport in it. Lined them as a couple but not the issues either exes and ex school Nate’s who are women that should have been dealt with by both Noah and Camryn.
Another enjoyable enemy to lovers, hockey-romance by Cathryn Fox. Stick Move is a great way to escape reality for a few hours. I look forward to reading any-and-all books by Cathryn. Thanks
