Silent Victims: Iran and Militarization of Children in the Middle East

Rate this book
The book is in memory of the countless children who have suffered untold horrors in conflict zones. The Children who were robbed of their childhoods, used as weapons of war, and who were denied their very basic rights. To those Children who had no option but to succumb to the inhumane bloodthirst of the warlords.
To the Silent Victims.
Through sharing the harrowing testimonies of children recruited to the frontlines across the Middle East and highlighting international efforts to combat the practice of child recruitment in conflict zones, this book hopes, to some extent, to give a voice to the vulnerable, to ensure that their plight is never erased from the official narrative of the region's ravaging conflicts.

my favorite book of the year so far, I loved how each country had a chapter of its own with a lot of depth and details. Also, mentioning the names of the young victims (who were no younger than 8) and describing the long-term psychological, physical, educational and socioeconomic effects of being recruited at such a young age. I believe at this day and age everyone should be aware of this ongoing event and this book is a good head start.
