was this cute? yes! will i ever read this or think about these characters ever again? no, not really.

i still felt very meh about this whole thing even if i did enjoy this volume/season more than the first. it’s quite short & has under 60 chapters but the whole thing felt repetitive. overall? this wasn’t for me but it was a good low stakes brain off type of manhwa that allowed me to kill a few hours to binge all of it. do check it out if you like the fan x idol characters & you want something quick and short to binge

Las excusas de Siyeol para justificar sus acciones me parecieron una completa estupidez. Me gustó mucho que Aejoon se diera a respetar y que el otro se arrastrara por su perdón hasta las lágrimas. Me dió satisfacción porque si me le hicieron mucho daño a mi niño Aejoon 🫂 Ya luego de todo ello estuve en paz y disfruté mucho de los momentos felices 🥰 viva el amor 🙌🏻 el amor gay 🌈

Un fanfic de Wattpad dónde tienes tus fantasías con tu famoso favorito. Básicamente ha sido eso, y sí, ha sido adorable, pero no he sentido nada. No me han dado las ganas de ser yo, o el decir "jaja si soy". Solo ha sido adorable. Tal vez demasiado corto, me faltaba desarrollo para poder llegar a conectar realmente con ellos.

"—¿Estaría bien si solo fuera tu fan? Solo siendo tu fan y nada más, ¿eso es en serio lo que deseas?

—No hay manera de que eso sea todo lo que deseo. Deseo que me quieras, no, deseo que me ames.

i was promised an excellent redemption arc but this was mediocre at best. art's pretty good but everything about the story felt so anticlimactic man. and can they stop fucking every two chapters i'm BOREDDDD 🫩 also i'm not going to forget that non-con drunk part, that pissed me off so bad. this does get better later on but it's nowhere near a great story. LOVED his nephew though, he was so cute 😭🫶🏻

I was fully prepared for this volume to steer into some unpleasant territory. After all, Siyeol's true intentions had finally been revealed - to the readers, if not to the object of his extremely pointed flirting. A relationship that starts off with lies and manipulation can't wind up anywhere good, right?

But Siyeol is just...such a charmingly stupid man. In the end, the only one he was truly scamming was himself, because he almost immediately fell head over heels for his adorably earnest target. And kind of forgot the entire point of his mission in the first place.

Seven Seas split the volumes up kind of weirdly, so there's an "epilogue" partway through this book, with author's and artist's notes at the close of Season 1. This description by Nabit is so on point: "Choi Siyeol, who misunderstands everything and does pointless things."

That...really does entirely sum him up. And I can't help it, I really like him.

Some of the things I'd been kind of confused by in the first volume were cleared up here. Siyeol had indeed had a crush on their ex-group member, Jooha, who'd been in a relationship with Aejoon's idol cousin, Kyusung. Siyeol assumes that Aejoon had been aware of this relationship and had been partly to blame for the breakup - possibly stealing Kyusung away, or at least not caring about the pain the whole situation had caused Jooha.

It doesn't actually seem like Siyeol was necessarily going to pursue Jooha himself (and that crush seemed to fade pretty quickly once he started up a fake-but-kind-of-serious relationship with someone else). It's mostly just that he'd disliked Kyusung all along and hated him even more after the breakup. So stealing Aejoon away from him and rubbing it in his face seemed like a great way to avenge Jooha and make himself feel better, too.

Except...Aejoon is so nice and cute and interesting and smart and capable and attentive and physically very responsive and Siyeol really likes spending time with him, and suddenly all his jealousy flips from Jooha to him. He played himself by falling in love, for a second time, with his rival's boyfriend. The big problem is that this time it really is steering into something a lot more significant (and definitely much more mutual) than his quiet crush on Jooha.

Well, no. The bigger problem is that Siyeol started off the entire thing by lying to Aejoon.

I liked that as soon as he realized those feelings were developing into something real, he started thinking of when and how he could tell Aejoon the truth. More amusingly, he quickly started making excuses for Aejoon - since it didn't seem like he'd known anything about Jooha's relationship with Kyusung, didn't that make him a victim too?

Logical except for the part where Siyeol still firmly believes that Aejoon is Kyusung's boyfriend and is cheating with him. So how would he be innocent or a victim? Siyeol is a dear, stupid man who gets easily blinded by love and doesn't think about any of the nuances of these situations.

Of course it eventually comes to a head, and while the final pages were an upsetting cliffhanger, it's honestly nothing too worrying. Siyeol and Aejoon just have to talk things out, reveal their mutual secrets, and confess their feelings without all the baggage that'd been holding them back.

This is a silly, surprisingly sweet story about a very handsome idiot and the level-headed and very adoring man he was lucky to find. Looking forward to the final volume in ~4 months.

This idol must have an absolute ton of free time on his hands! The MC proper got on my nerves the entire way through and ruined the whole thing for me. Far too many pointless sex scenes. Far too many repetitive bits. This series is shorter than your average one in the genre and yet I still felt like I’d never finish it!

Esta segunda temporada fue de lo más interesante. Disfruté especialmente la evolución que hubo en la relación entre Siyeol y Aejun. Es cierto que el malentendido que había desde la primera temporada se alargó más de lo debido, y si ambos hubiesen tenido una buena comunicación (en este caso, especialmente Siyeol), muchas cosas se habrían evitado, y Aejun no habría sufrido 🥲 por todo eso y por la supuesta venganza de Siyeol.

Lo que sí me gustó de este manhwa es que, luego de que Aejun se enterara de todo, se mantuvo firme cuando Siyeol vino como un perrito arrastrado a pedirle perdón. Así siguió durante varios capítulos, hasta que literalmente se puso a llorar para que lo perdonara 😭. Yo fui débil cuando lo vi llorar… así soy cuando veo a un hombre llorando, ¡JAJAJA! Pero al final, Aejun le dio una segunda oportunidad, y desde ese momento, Siyeol le demostró lo mucho que lo quería 😭🥹.

Tengo que destacar que me hubiese encantado tener más interacción de la pareja secundaria. Siento que ambos tenían una buena historia que contar. Ya que al inicio de la primera temporada habían terminado por ciertas situaciones, pero en la segunda temporada nos dan a entender que arreglaron sus problemas y volvieron a ser pareja 😭. ¡Eso me encantó, ya que son muy lindos juntos!

En resumen, fue una historia muy dulce, entretenida y emocional. A pesar del drama, se siente ligera y el final es de lo mas preciosa. ¡Totalmente recomendable! 💕📖

There are more answered revealed here, especially when it comes to Choi's original motivations. It's interesting though, that when he realizes Na may be innocent of his previous assumptions, he also finds himself genuinely wanting to continue their relationship and hoping Na will choose him. He seems more bothered by the idea Na may be getting played and be hurt than himself, which is a very different characterization from when he's cringing to himself and plotting his next moves. It looks like the next volume will have some fireworks as the truth comes out, at least as far as Choi's choices and Na's familial relationships go. It'll be interesting to see if the fanboying comes out as well, though that's been one of Na's biggest fears up to this point. They both came into this relationship hiding things and making some really questionable decisions, but both of them can't seem to help hoping that the other feels the same.

I wasn't as bothered by the miscommunication trope as I sometimes am (probably because it was pretty entertaining coming from both sides), but it does feel like a lot of the actual setup (idol x bias dynamic, the show filming, etc.) that should make the series unique was sidelined in this volume, which makes it somewhat...generic?
