Rate this book
The hunter has become the hunted.

In the bloody aftermath of the assault on Greyhaven, the once stalwart hunter finds himself ensnared in a deadly game of pursuit. As the city reels from the carnage, whispers of unsettling truths echo through the cobblestone streets, casting a sinister pall over the realm of Aladran.

Now, with the king's steely gaze fixed upon him, Soren stands at the precipice of a harrowing journey.

Joined by steadfast companions Seph and Kaile, Soren embarks upon a treacherous odyssey into uncharted territories, where ancient secrets lie buried beneath layers of forgotten lore. Yet, as their fellowship swells with unlikely allies, the stakes soar to perilous heights.

The world converges upon Soren like a ravenous beast, its hunger for vengeance matched only by the relentless pursuit of the king's hunters. Yet, amidst the encroaching darkness, whispers of hope flicker from the depths of the Silver Sparrows' clandestine network, offering a glimmer of respite in the gathering storm.

In his relentless quest for retribution, Soren grapples with the weight of his own mortality, as even the mightiest armor can buckle beneath the relentless onslaught of fate.

Amidst the chaos of war and intrigue, will Soren emerge unscathed, or will he be consumed by the very shadows he seeks to vanquish?

About the author

C.K. Rieke

C.K. Rieke, though he constantly dreams of oceans and mountains, was born and lives in Kansas. Art and storytelling were his passions, beginning with “Where the Wild Things Are” and Shel Silverstein. That grew into a love of comic books and fantasy novels. He always dreamed of creating his own worlds through the brush and keyboard.

Throughout his college years, Rieke ventured into the realm of indie comics, illustrating and co-plotting stories that hinted at the epic narratives to come. But it wasn’t until his early thirties, inspired by the works of fantasy luminaries, that he turned his hand to writing his own tales. The labor of love that was “The Road to Light,” painstakingly crafted over two years, marked his debut into the literary world under the guidance of a revered editor.

Within the pages of his novels, Rieke spins tales of daring adventure and intricate character arcs that ensnare the heart. Yet, be warned, dear reader, for his pen is not without its blade—occasionally, beloved characters meet their untimely demise, prompting fans to pen letters of both torment and anguish.

C.K. Rieke is pronounced C.K. ‘Ricky’.
