Confessions of the highest bidder: Poems and songwords, 1982-1996

Rate this book
"Poetry can be saved by rock music" , says Chris Connelly, and any fan of his music would agree. Chris is a true songwriter, crafting beautiful music to accompany lyrical images. His first book, Confessions of the Highest Bidder , allows his songwords to stand alone and shine for themselves. To prove that Chris is not only a great musician but also a true poet, additional unreleased songwords and poems are included in this book.
The idea for publishing Chris's song lyrics and poetry surfaced in 1996, during an online chat. Multiple fans urged Chris to make his work available in print, and shortly after, Chris began compiling. The final result was released in 1999.

I bought this book early on as a fan of Chris Connelly's work with bands such as Ministry and The Revolting Cocks. Later, I became an even bigger fan of his amazing solo material. Regardless of whether you're a fan of Connelly's work or not this is some very impressive material and shows his talent as a song writer and a poet. If you like modern poetry or need some that's good you definitely need to look into this fantastic book!
