When my daddy died, I swore I’d never want another…and then I lost my sucker.
I was one of the lucky ones. Everyone said so. I met my daddy, my true love, my always and forever, while I was a freshman at college. By the time I graduated, we had a cute little house, the cuddliest dog, and our whole lives ahead of us, together. Until it was all stolen from me one rainy night.
Three years later, I still have no idea how to move on. Daddy wouldn’t want me to be alone, but going forward without him—I’m not sure it’s possible. And then, one day, I accidentally leave my bag from the candy store in my booth at the diner and everything changes. Suddenly there is a smexy daddy wanting my number. Only thing is, he doesn’t realize he's a daddy yet.
Walker’s Lost Lollipop is a sweet age play romance featuring a little who loses his sweets and finds something sweeter, a first-time daddy, the best, yet laziest dog you ever did meet, snuggles, cuddles, stuffies, footie jams, a memorable day at Chained, new beginnings, some old friends, true love, and a guaranteed happily ever after. If you like your romances on the Hallmark side but a bit kinkier, check out Walker’s Lost Lollipop by USA Today Bestselling author Della Cain and her bestie and frequent partner in crime, Kaytea Kat.
"When my husband /"Papa" died, I swore I’d never want another…and then I lost my sucker...." -Walker The above quote from the book description pretty much sums up the story. Della Caine's "Found by Daddy" series is a collection of "Daddy /little" books that the stories are short...but every inch is filled with sweetness and loads of love.
This one is sweet in other ways as Mateo is a candymaker. Walker is a "little" that loves his sweet treats and, on his way back from making his yearly visit to his husband /Papa's grave, he stops in and buys one of Mateo's lollipops...but in his anxiety about the coming rainstorm, he lays it down and forgets it. When Mateo finds it, he remembers seeing the cute little guy that had bought it...so he runs off to find him and return it...and maybe get to talk to him...and maybe ask him to have coffee.
A sweet story, with wonderful caring characters and a sweeter than sweet ending. "If you like your romances on the "Hallmark" side but just a bit kinkier, check out Della Cain's "Found by Daddy" series. I totally agree.
Mateo is sweet, kind, and a lucid WillyWonka 🎩✨🍭 New to the “Daddy role” in Dd/Lb world that fate led to Walker who sweetly tells him about having “not chaste thoughts”, that eventually leads to “polite sex”🥰 -these two are soooo very cute, soft & adorable 💘💘💘💘💘 Be read for happy, heartwarming & heartachy tears🩵😭💙😭🩵 with HEA 🍭🍭🍭🍭🍭

This is the eighth book in this series and is quick and sweet like the rest of them. Walker lost his husband three years ago to an accident and he finally feels ready to try dating again. He feels lighter and free to indulge a little, stopping off at a candy store he's heard such great things about. He finds a unique lollipop while he's there and can't wait to try it at home but he accidentally leaves it at the diner. Mateo spots the bag and sees his opening to try and talk to the beautiful man he spotted in that diner. Mateo has always been a caregiver but he didn't realize that he was a natural Daddy. These two ease into the dynamic with Mateo being new to it and still unsure if he will be good enough for Walker. This is journey of discovery and finding love again with cuddles, candy, cute dogs, movies, and littles playtime.
I loved this book! The story of Walker and Mateo is sweet and wonderful and an absolute pleasure to read. Their journey begins with a lollipop and a lost bag of candy. It will take Mateo some time to realize that not only is he a daddy, but he’s the exact kind of daddy that Walker needs. The two men get their happily ever after that includes some friends from Collared and one adorable wiener dog!.

Walker's Lost Lollipop is the eighth book in the Found by Daddy series by Della Cain and Kaytea Kat. This is the story of Walker and Mateo. I really liked their story. It was sweet, cute, full of feels and very well written.
This one just didn't do it for me. I don't know why, i just didn't really connect with either characters. It wasn't a bad read, just not a great one. Walker is grieving and trying to move on, Mateo is trying to perfect his candy art. It just felt like the two authors didn't communicate when writing this one.
I do love these daddy/little stories and this one was so sweet. The plot flowed better than these sometimes do, though there were hiccups--as if the dual authors forgot to check what was written by the other and information conflicted.
Walker was a sweetheart but he was a mature adult who was moving through latter stages of grief for his late husband when he met Walker - a candy maker and store owner who had never been a Daddy and, in fact, needed to learn about the Daddy/little dynamic. The good news is that Walker connected with him on an adult level and knew that even if they couldn't get deep in to his "little" head space, he'd still want a relationship with Mateo.
What I'm trying to say is that Walker knew what he needed for both his adult and little sides and spent more time in his adult headspace at the beginning of the story than in his "little" persona and I think that made his slow buildup of a relationship with Mateo, who was willing to let his own caregiver side explore a D/l relationship, develop naturally. Much better than rushing into play with someone who needed the time to see if their dynamic could grow into what they both needed.
Because of that I gave the story four stars. And PS - I'd love to visit that candy shop. Unicorn truffles. Who wouldn't want to try those? 😊
This book is the 8th book in the Found by Daddy series. Each book is a standalone read. This is the story of Walker and Mateo. Walker is a little who is slowly coming to grips with the pain of losing the love of his life and his daddy. Three years later his is still lost. Slowly he is starting to live again. Walker like most littles has an enormous sweet tooth. After visiting the gravesite, he accidentally leaves his new bag of candy in the diner where he treated himself to lunch. Mateo is a candy maker who would love someone to care for. He knows that he is a caregiver. He recognizes the bag from his store so it catches his attention when Walker leaves it behind. Mateo grabs the bag and runs to catch up with Walker. This is their story. This is a sweet story. Mateo is uninitiated with daddy/little lifestyle. He is however, open to learning and trying it to see if he is comfortable with it. I liked how both of them agreed that communication would be the most important thing. I enjoyed this book. It is written well and easy to read. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Walker met his daddy, his true love, his always and forever, while he was a freshman at college. By the time he graduated, they had a cute little house, the cuddliest dog, and their whole lives ahead of them until it was all stolen from him one rainy night. After three years he still had no idea how to move on even though he knew that his daddy wouldn't want him to be alone. Then one day he accidentally left his bag from a sweet shop in a booth in a diner and his life was changed. Then sexy sweet shop owner Mateo asks for his phone number even though he doesn't know it yet.
This was a sweet story of a little trying to cope after the sudden death of his daddy/husband and how he met his new daddy. It was heartbreaking to experience him trying to cope by himself and then get hope as he met Mateo and started dating him. I loved their visit to the other club and the connection to new friends. It was easy to read and the emotions/feelings were easy to pick up from the writing. This is an MM story and a BSDM-like DDLB dynamic.
Part of the Found By Daddy series each can be read as a standalone with a daddy in need of a boy and a baby boy in need of a sweet daddy. Walker is so sweet he found love lost his love due to an accident hasn’t thought about getting back out until now three years later he feels he is able to go out trying dating again, so he heads to the candy shop that is all the rave and buys himself a lollipop goes to diner but forgets his lollipop. Mato the owner of the candy store is just as sweet, caring, tries to treat others how he wants to be treated, the moment he sees the sweet little who comes into the diner it brings out his caring daddy side and when he forgets his bag he runs over to give it to him shifting their paths. The attraction is there from the moment they meet Walker needs his loving, caring personality but Mateo isn’t sure he is a daddy or how to be one despite the fact he is doing just that and the best daddy but is it enough especially after Walker’s loss, will they find a rhythm that works for them, and find happiness again?
Walker thought he had his life set after college. The man he fell in love with and married was his perfect Daddy. However a bad rainstorm caused his daddy to have a car accident a couple of years ago and Walker is struggling with moving on. This is the first year he was able to smile on the anniversary of his Daddy's death. After a visit to his Daddy's grave, he hears a commercial for a candy store and he decides to check it out. He buys a bag of candy, including an experimental lollipop made by the store owner. He then goes to the diner next door when he sees a hot sexy guy. Walker thinks about talking to him but the day has been tiring. He is shocked that the guy chases him down after he leaves. Walker had left his bag of candy behind. Sparks fly between Walker and the sexy man Mateo. However there is one problem, even though Mateo gives off Daddy vibes, he has no clue about the Daddy/Little lifestyle.

"Walker had needs someone would have to fill to be in his life, and I wasn’t 100 percent sure I was up for the challenge."
This is book 8 in the Found by Daddy series. I love these quick little reads with so much love packed in. Any time these series books pop up on Booksprout, I jump at the chance to read and review.
In this story I found myself tearing up at the beginning and several spots throughout. The book was a bit heart wrenching while at the same time heart warming... it gave me all the feels.
If you are triggered by the loss of a spouse, off page and in the past, this one might not be for you. The death occurred 3 years prior and Walker is finally ready to live and love again. If you take a chance on this one I think you'll enjoy it.
Chance meeting, what little doesn't like candy, duckies, unicorn truffles, a lopsided lollipop, and a mystery box that will always remain a mystery.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story about Walker, who was a widower, he lost his husband three years ago on a rainy night. He’s now starting to feel that maybe he needs a daddy again, on the way home from visiting his husband’s gravesite, he stops at a candy store where he finds a lollipop that is exciting in its difference, he then goes Next Door to the diner to have his dinner, and promptly leaves his bag on the chair when he leaves. Mateo, who is the owner of the candy store, sees Walker and wants to go and talk to him but misses his chance when he gets up to leave the diner, Mateo then sees the bag of candy on Walkers chair and races after him. This is the start of a wonderful romance between the two of them and their journey in exploring their new relationship. There is a happy ending for these two. a thoroughly enjoyable story that will leave you feeling happy.

Walker has been a widower for three years and is only now starting to move beyond his grief. Not only was he dealing with loss alone, but his little side has had to make do on his own. Meeting Mateo is the beginning of a sweet relationship as they learn how to be together as a couple, both as adults and with regards to Walker being little and Mateo discovering if he can be a daddy. Mateo already has major caregiver vibes, so it doesn't take long to realize he can be a daddy. They fall in love and have a really sweet HEA. There were many sweet moments in this book, and both Walker and Mateo were likeable characters. However, there were some inconsistencies that took me out of the story, and for me, the first half was pretty dull.

I loved Walker's Lost Lollipop Book 8 of Found by Daddy. Walker’s Papa passes away a three years ago in a rainy car crash. Walker is moving on with his life but he wishes he had a Daddy. A radio commercial leads him to Mateo’s Candy shop but not Mateo, that was a stroke of luck when he forgot his candy bag at a restaurant. Mateo is not a Daddy, he’s not really familiar with the kink, but meeting Walker has changed his life. He’s a caregiver and protector he just didn’t know he was a daddy. This is a lovely story about a second chance at love for Walker and for Mateo finally finding the love of his life. It’s a sweet story and I loved the characters. I would definitely recommend this book and the series.

This is an engaging book that pulls at your heartstrings. While it stimulates your imagination and excites your naughty bits, it does address the rather somber topic of grief and loss. While different for everyone, most can relate to the grief process, and thereby Walker's turmoil over the past few years. Mateo being new to the scene gives them both a literal fresh start in this relationship.
I appreciate the limited amount of angst in Della's stories. It is less contrived and much more natural than often found elsewhere. Of course there are hiccups, its all in how these two handle the challenges presented that counts. Do yourself a favor and indulge yourself in this scrumptious treat. You won't be disappointed. I was gifted a copy of this book and volunteered my review. Happy Reading Y'all 📚
I still rock my VHS, absolutely the sweetest story! Walker lost his husband, Jim during a rain storm. He has suffered from rain anxiety ever since then. His dog, Meyer is his constant comfort and a good judge of people.. Mateo, is a self made very self aware store owner looking for a permanent relationship, where he can love and be loved. He has a loving caring nature that some of his exes found a bit much. When he met Walker, his caregiver instincts kicked in and he was charmed. Walker liked Mateo from the beginning and wondered how to tell him about his secret self. They cautiously embark on a journey of discovery of who they are individually and who they are as a couple. The journey, is at a good pace. The authors do an excellent job introducing the kink practice and identifying the most important ways to success. Nicely done. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a sweet MM Romance that I enjoyed. I love the Daddy little boy world and this was a quick easy read story with a wonderful cast of characters that I fell in love with and connected with easily. I loved being on the journey with Mateo as he found his Daddy side and became more comfortable with Walker’s little world. They were both so nervous because they knew they wanted to be together but Mateo knew that Walker’s little side needed to be cared for too. It was a beautiful ending.
I did feel that some of the storyline was glossed over in places and I was left wanting more details.
For Fellow Mood Readers and those with triggers : there is talk of offscreen death, there is age play, low spice, low angst.
I’ve enjoyed most of this series. But the last book and this one are too “formulaic” for me. Is it me or is the timeline off? I even went back and reread part of it. Walker’s POV-he goes to grave, meets Matteo, goes home, friend Sam invites him to Chained, takes a nap, goes out, texts Matteo afterward in the car. Matteo POV-meets Walker, Chapter 6 starts “day after I met Walker”, then proceeds to get a text from Walker that night. ???? I couldn’t get over this mistake. Tell me if you think I misunderstood the book timeline.
Then, for their first date, they seem like they will end it at the door, but then immediately go in and have sex quickly. There wasn’t enough story before that for me and it made me want to stop.
I already knew from previous books by this author that there was a high likelihood that I would really enjoy this book. And I absolutely did. I found it extremely heartwarming as well as heartbreaking. Walker had lost his husband to a tragic accident. Mateo was more focused on his business but contemplating dating. The way that shows I'm mad was simply wonderful. But what brought me to tears was towards the end when they went to the cemetery together. The way that both of them spoke to Jim's headstone brought me to tears. I felt like this was a well-rounded book. It also touched a lot on Grief and healing.

I really enjoyed this book. The Found by Daddy books are usually more lighthearted, but I couldn't help but feel sad for Walker after his Daddy died, leaving him alone and lonely with their dog, Meyer. Mateo running a candy store for his popular creations was fun and sweet (pun intended). Combine that with Winnie's diner and I was salivating while reading this story. I liked the way the two of them met and how their relationship developed. Both had noticed each other and the attraction was there but it wasn't all immediately lusty and heated. It felt natural- especially considering Walker having lost his husband three years prior. A sweet read, and as always I'm always looking forward to the next book. 4 stars.
This is a well written story, with excellent pacing and well developed characters. I fell in love with the two main characters! Mateo is a hard-working owner of a candy company. Walker is a widowed little, whose husband died in an accident 3 years ago. Although quickly attracted to each other, they take the time to date and get to know each other. Their building relationship is realistic and mature. Both value communicating in an honest, truthful and open way. Mateo and Walker have great chemistry, with well done spicy scenes. The caregiving and romance are beautifully expressed. This is a lovely daddy/little story and comfort read. Highly recommended!
Walker was a Little who's Daddy died 3 years ago. In a meet cute, he meets Mateo, a candy maker and the two need to see if they can be who the other person needs. This was a unique Daddy/Little story as Mateo had no background in this and they took their time working it out, both being patient but knowing they wanted to be with each other. I love the caring they still had for the deceased Daddy. It's a sweet romance, light on the burn and angst but grounded in caring. I loved the book it had me hooked it was full of emotions and the story of heartache of love lost and loved found and the characters were really captivating. Walker lost the love of his life for years he was depressed and now he is ready to find a Daddy. Mateo the new Daddy was very new to the lifestyle he has been looking on line about being a Daddy and what is expected of him to look after his little Walker.

It’s a fun read that shows the sweet side of a Little when he thinks he has found his new Daddy. The interaction between Mateo and Walker is the start of a bond that will endure time. I enjoyed the story and all of the quirks and sweet moments that the two of them share. It’s a story that is definitely worth reading. Three years after his husband's death Walker meets his new Daddy. Never being a Daddy before Mateo meets a boy who will complete him. Walker thought he would have to give up a part of his life as a boy to find a new love but he got lucky because Mateo was a caregiver that grew into becoming a Daddy.

Another chance at love...all the feels in this one. Walker and Mateo's cute meet was just too adorable. The lost lollipop for the win! Their relationship was sweet. I love how Mateo was all in on being the daddy that Walker needed without any pressure or expectations from Walker. This was just a sweet ol romance. If you are loving this series this one is a wonderful addition I highly recommend.

This was such an enjoyable and sweet read that brings out all the emotions! Walker is dealing with a devastating loss and ready to move on when he meets Mateo. They have an instant connection but have to navigate through some things that are kind of new to Mateo. These guys are just the sweetest and I love how they communicated and respected each other! Loved it!.

I loved Walker and Mateo’s book. It’s a sweet, mildly angsty, hurt/comfort story about a little who is learning to move on after the loss of his papa and a new to the lifestyle daddy. I enjoyed reading about their journey and am looking forward to the next book in the series
