Lily has been jilted by her fiance and wishes she had a fake boyfriend to escort her to business functions and family gatherings since her former fiance is still moving within her personal and professional life. Ethan is Lily’s best friend’s brother, a billionaire entrepreneur who’s agreed to be that fake boyfriend. Over their time together, what was fake turns real. This book is novella length, but I had difficulty getting through it due to the writing style: it relies on telling rather than showing, and the dialogue is that of adolescents. In fact it reads as though written by an adolescent or a young teenager. I received an advance reader copy and I’m sharing my honest opinion.
My No So Fake Relationship has an interesting storyline with added drama from an ex who won't let go of what he has lost causing issues in Lily and Ethan's relationship.
The way the characters relationship developed was nice to read with you wishing they would communicate better and then they could avoid most of the issues between them. The way the book has been written makes you feel like you know them and want to see them happy together and you can feel their emotions.
This is the first book i have read of Skye Rose and i really enjoyed the writing style and pace of the book. It was written well and keeps you engaged, not wanting to put the book down.
I found myself with a really BIG smile on my face because how this story starts off is the BEST. When Lily needs a solution to her love life after dealing with her break up with her ex-Mark her best friend Schelley suggests a fake relationship with her brother Ethan. Then when Ethan agrees to help Lily out. I didn't see that happening so quickly. But look out because this book is just starting to take off and its way better than any roller coaster ride you can imagine riding. So, sit back and ENJOY seeing what happens when two people decide to help each other out because SPARKS are going to FLY and it's not because it's the Fourth of July either.
This is the first time I have read a book by Skye Rose. It was a good book with a descent story line. You have Ethan MMC, Mark the manipulative ex and Lily the FMC. Mark and Lily separate due to his cheating. In my opinion he thought that Lily would ever move on. Ethan and Lily start a fake relationship due to family peer pressure. They start as friends and everything escalated from there. Mark does some very manipulative things to get between Ethan and Lily. They end up separating for a little while and miss each other terribly. Lily's best friend and Ethan's sister does damage control between the two lovers.
No one thought that being in a date relationship would actually make a difference in their lives. The main characters showed us that true love saw no boundaries when faced with obstacles. Mark really showed himself and got schooled as his manipulating efforts were no good.
I liked the story of Ethan and Lily! Their relationship didn't seem fake at all at any time. I didn't like Mark's Mark's character, but I guess there is a villain in every story! Good story!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book was a great palette cleanser! I felt every bit of angst, anger, pleasure and happiness. My only concern is that it was almost predictable, but that is also what makes it a good palette cleanser.
