Vanessa only had three loves in life. Beauty, her dog, and the sound a man made as she drained him of his blood to create her favorite face mask. However, the knowledge that she used her victims to create her best-selling cosmetics, soaps, and candles also gave her a thrill. Now, her perfect world was threatened as two men, a vampire, and an FBI agent turned stalker, made their unhealthy obsession with her known.

They both knew her secret.

They both knew the other was watching.

Tw's for you, TW's for me, TW's for everyone! Beware, this is dark and graphic. It's the darkest I've ever read. The author posted a scene from this book in one of my book clubs, and I had to read it! The plot jumped around a bit and escalated quickly, but it is a shorter story, so I get it. The FMC is a vigilante type serial killer. She has an FBI stalker obsessed with her and a vampire who stumbles upon her and becomes obsessed as well.
Definitely 🌶🥵 and graphic 🔪💀 scenes. I knocked some points for the jumping around, or else I would have given 4 ⭐️. It won't be for everyone, but I definitely found a new genre for me.

Decent but confusing slight spoiler included

I decided to read this because it had pictures (weird, I know), so I could picture the characters better. Well, I read the book overview on amazon, and I'll start by saying the dogs name isn't beauty it's samwise, which is kinda confusing, but I continued on and I couldn't fully enjoy this book as it was very confusing example but I'm gonna make it totally unrelated to this book...one chapter the main female is at a club the next she's somewhere totally different unrelated to the club scene. Then we also have these two guy's totally into her, which that's awesome but in the end, they are kinda involved which again kinda confusing how did that happen? The girl is kinda interesting but has a very interesting hobby, to say the least. She bounces from I love these two guys to I love only one because the other betrayed me (which I don't think what he did was a betrayal but whatever) to I still love the other but I'm not going to forgive him to having fun with him like seriously that was hard to read she sounds like an immature teenager that cant decide between anything. In the end I think this book has potential, but the ideas and scenes bounce around way too much for me to follow correctly, but I did read the entire book as I can't seem to put down anything once I start. If what I said would bother you then I wouldn't suggest reading it but if not give it a read as you might like it.

I was caught in by the premise of the story and therefore, it felt promising to me. I will not say, everything was bad and I didn't like it. Because it's not entirely true.

So, in general, I have a thing for unhinged and crazy characters. I do love stories with a possessive vibe and obsession (aka stalkers). So, this story checked a lot of those boxes. Vanessa became a crazy individual due to her horrible experiences. Hadrian was the totally obsessive and possessive stalker. And over the top in general. But I liked it. And Orpheus was a cultivated, enigmatic, but not less obsessive and possessive vampire.

And yes, the story is pretty dark, which I don't really mind. But I don't have triggers, so no one should take me as a role model for that. And all the mentioned triggers were generally things I have read in one or another variation in other books.

So, the mix here and how everything came together was unique. So, that is a lot of good points for me. And the side characters were not bad either. I liked Saul too, though I was sad how it all ended. And Samwise was a dog, while not really a main point in the story, that gave a bit of a playful cute note. I like animals in general.

As I said, the main reason, why I don't give a better rating is, that I didn't like the way the ending was written. In general, after half of the book was over, it declined for me rapidly. Everything was rushed. I found myself skipping pages, because there was so much repeated. Things didn't really get addressed properly so that everything got full circle and gave me a good conclusion.

And I didn't like it, that Orpheus was punished for something, he couldn't have known. Again, that part and afterwards was really rushed and not fully shown. So, I found myself frustrated with it.

Furthermore, I didn't get an explanation how life is for them now and what they plan on doing? I mean, initially, Orpheus wanted to turn Vanessa and gave her a purpose without any repercussions for her doings. What happened with that? Not to forget, what is with Hadrian being an FBI agent? That was why he didn't show himself sooner and how he worked was not mentioned either. Or was Saul her real father, since he called himself that, or did he just feel that way for her? And how did he know about Hadrian? He abducted him too, and I don't really get the reasoning? I get, that he wanted to protect Vanessa. But Saul didn't check in with her to see, if there were feelings involved or anything. So, that was a bit wild to comprehend without any clear explanations.

And because of all of that, I just couldn't give a better rating. It felt incomplete in the end and didn't leave me satisfied, because I couldn't truly enjoy it with the way it was rushed.

Still, I didn't regret reading it.

I struggled on whether to rate this 2 or 3 stars.

The smut is incredible - especially the earlier scenes between Hadrian and Vanessa: somno, breeding kink, birth control tampering, non con/dub con.

But the story fell flat. There was so much potential. Both male leads would have been a forbidden romance with the female lead. Both were possessive of the female lead after finding out about the other’s existence. Hadrian especially was obsessed to the extent he’s unhinged which I liked. But the forbidden romance part wasn’t explored at all - the vampire side or fbi side. All the unhinged things that Hadrian did to the FMC were what made him the best character as well and in the second half he apologises and regrets how he treated the female lead? That was the only good part of the book

The male leads were so accepting of each other out of the blue and we even got MM scenes? And the MM scenes were even before the second male lead got together with the female lead.

Orpheus’s romance with Vanessa was really underdeveloped. Real slow burn.

The time jumps in the second half also threw me off.

And the arc with Saul being so protective of the female lead he kidnaps Hadrian also came out of nowhere. How did he even find out about Hadrian? His mafia background isn’t explored at all nor him being a parent to the female lead. It’s just introduced then dropped. And how did Saul even know about vampires existing? Orpheus killing him off without questions was also abrupt. He didn’t have a reason at all to kill him off instead of keeping him alive, even for torture.

I really am not sure what I just read.

The first half of the book I was rooting for Vanessa. I mean she went through some stuff where her power was taken from her. Then she was able to take that power back and make a positive out of what could have been a negative again.

Then we have Hadrian an FBI agent and Orpheus a vampire. Both completely obsessed with Vanessa. Both happened upon her by chance. I at this point am totally there for it.

However, this is kind of where I get lost. Much of the story started to repeat and skip around to the point I was like “wait what”. I felt as much as I liked the first half of the book the second half could have been much better. It never explained anything about Hadrian being an FBI agent and how his obsession with Venessa could affect is job. Also when Orpheus killed Saul to save Hadrian why did they never tell Venessa? Why did Venessa take all her anger out on Orpheus and not Hadrian for what he did to her? So many questions and nothing in the end made sense.

All in all the beginning was good the end not so much but glad I finished it even with being left with so many questions.

I don’t even know where to start with this. I don’t like leaving bad reviews but I genuinely did not like this book. So many parts were rushed over and the main character is literally raped in the first chapter then it’s just glossed over as if it were normal. The writing style just felt off, immature and annoying to read.

I didn’t like this book to be honest. I still gave two stars because I didn’t completely hate it of DNF.
Silly, is the word I would use to describe this book.
The book started out interesting, then the story just got all over the place. It was rushed and I felt like half of the story was left out and the reader was just supposed to know why something has happened or was happening.
Like the FMC falling in love with the two MMC’s just like that? When did that happen? Why does she love them?
Then also the MMC’s staring to like each other out of the blue. Also I felt like both of the MMC’s personalities changed constantly. I felt like I was reading about five different main characters.
Everything was just left for the reader to guess and assume. The writing was a bit off, I felt like there were a lot of repeating. Was there any editing done? Felt like there was not.

This is the first book that I have read from Quinn. I have to say it was an interesting book. It has 3 great characters who are unique in their own way. But when they come together hold on because it is spicy. Vanessa is just trying to survive from day to day. She wants to make something out of her business but doesnt know where to go with it. She soon learns the one thing and can make things more interesting for her. Hadrian is trying to find out the truth about Vanessa. But along the way he finds and feels so much more. Orpheus feels that Vanessa is his chosen one. But little does he know it is so much more than that. Will the three of them survive and be able to make something of their feelings? Will Vanessa continue down the path she has chosen? This was a very interesting page turning storyline. I am hoping that Quinn writes more books just like this one.

I actually read this back in March 2024 but completely forgot to leave a review until now!

This was my first real dive into this genre, and now it’s become one of my absolute favorites. I adored this book, it was such an incredible read from start to finish. The main character completely drew me in, and I’ll admit, Mr. Vampire quickly became another favorite of mine. I’m still a bit unsure about Hadrian, he frustrated me at times, but he definitely played an important role in the story. The ending left me a little angry (in that emotional, “how could this happen” kind of way), which just shows how invested I was. While I did have a few small pieces of constructive feedback in mind, as a first experience with this genre, it completely exceeded my expectations. An amazing start that set the bar very high!

Well, mark off serial unaliver FMC on my bingo card! Vanessa only grabs the bad guys, and then she repurposes them... into candles and face masks. All in an honest day's work. Orpheus and Hadrian, the vampire and the FBI agent, were a unique combo I didn't see coming. They both are ✨️obsessed✨️ and we love it. There's lots of darkness in this story, so don't be expecting flowers and candy. Lots of the red stuff 🩸, lots of forced acts, and our girl gets to tie others up and also be tied up. Balance. If you can get past the pitch black, this was a good read! Put me down as scared and h0rny.

"Thirst Trap" by Quinn Hawthorne is a wild ride into the twisted world of Vanessa, who's all about beauty, her dog Samwise, and draining dudes for her cosmetics. Things get seriously messy when a vampire named Orpheus and an FBI agent named Hadrian start sniffing around her secrets. Oh, and Vanessa's got this side hustle called Somefans, like a twisted version of OnlyFans. It's a gripping mix of horror, romance, and suspense that'll keep you hooked from start to finish. Trust me, if you're into dark fantasy and psychological thrillers, "Thirst Trap" is a must-read.

I saw a graphic that gave a sneak peek of this book and it caught my interest however this book was dark and graphic, beyond what I expected. Plus it's the first time I read about a female serial killer which is different.

Unfortunately, this book wasn't for me, it was just a little too much. It wasn't bad but there were a few things that didn't seem to fit the story. Nonetheless, I was interested enough to skim the story to see where it was all going. Not every book is for everyone, I wasn't the right person for this book you still could be.

This book is dark. Truly heed the content warning. The things that happen in this book are very very dark and not for the faint of heart. I understand it’s fantasy, but the book goes from one dark side to a complete character personality switch (in all three main characters) and gives a lovey dovey trio ending. Not sure if it was just my kindle version, but there were so many spelling/grammar errors, repeated sentences and paragraphs that I felt like it was written by a bad AI. Spicy romance? It’s definitely descriptive, but the story line was a little too loose for me.

Wow! Intriguing page turner

This was a new genre adventure for me, wasn’t sure how this would go for me . Another 5 stars for sure! So many details , scenes, plot was really interesting and kept me turning pages. The more I read the more I couldn’t stop reading! Well written and the way the story unfolded incredible details ! I am hooked and honestly didn’t expect to be drawn into a book like this. One is never too old to try reading something totally different!! Looking forward to more books can’t wait to read mote of them!

Honestly, I could tolerate the lack of editing, but when you hit approx page 170, the flip of character personality with no context gets atrocious. I'm left with confusion and no answers. This quite clearly had very little in any editing at all. There is also clearly missing plot and character arc apperant by some massive leaps that happen from what seems like out of nowhere. Frankly, I now understand why this was free on Kindle.

A vampire, a serial killer and an FBI agent walk into a bar. They’re each as crazy as one another, and the vampire is the bleeding-heart nice guy. Good grief this book hits a lot of taboo kinks—mind the TWs. It was crazy weird and messy. I certainly wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who I want to think well of me. I’m a nice girl. 😇 Time to go back to my kindle rabbithole of monster 🍆 and depravity!

This is one of the darkest books I’ve read. Pick a dark trope and it’s there but in a very surprising way. There are no innocents in this book. Every character is dark and damaged and incredibly well written. It’s one heck of a ride down a very dark hole.

Really dark, twisted and dirty!
A story with lots of triggers about a Fmc that after being raped and abused turns into a serial killer.
In her path she runs into a FBI agent and a vampire and their twisted story begins....
A why choose MMF with explicit hot scenes, with stalking, forced breeding, somnophilia and other dark themes.
If you like dark and twisted this is the book for you!

I wanted to like it and it wasn't the worst thing ever but I found myself skimming it the longer I was reading. I saw an add for this book that peaked my interest so I decided to give it a shot and while I did enjoy some bits. The writing just seemed a little lost or almost unedited. I think there was definitely room for improvement but some of the tropes were fun.

I loved it! The FMC is taking back her life! Definitely read the TW’s because damn! I loved every little detail. The only reason I give it 4/5 is because something’s being repeated several times in a short period of time and because the guys “fell” fast for each other and that made little sense to me.

So I'm a fan of dark romance the darker the better. At this started out with such good potential. But then it got so confusing. And things just didn't make sense story lines seemed muddled. I gave it three stars because the dark parts were juicy.

This is a solid middle rating kinda book. The storyline had promise and starts off right; then it takes off like a bottle rocket too fast to make sense. This paranormal read has some interesting and intriguing spots but it just went too fast and created too many plot holes.

Quinn Hawthorne writes a great story and had a great overall feel for the genre. The author does a great job in dealing with the dark topics of this world, and had a story that worked well overall. The characters felt like they were supposed to and worked overall.

A short read

Thirst Trap is a very short read. This book does have some dark themes so make sure to check the triggers. I do wish we got to know more about the MMC’s or even more of the relationship between them all. I would suggest reading this if you’re looking for something in between books.

I don't know what I got myself into with this book, and I can't remember how I found it.

I didn't enjoy the book, but I finished against my better judgment. I ended up skimming about halfway through to finish it.

There were parts of the book that flip-flopped, one in particular was the father figure, who claimed he was the FMC's father, but that was never discussed again.

Added it to my TBT because of TikTok and had time to forget what it was about. Bad, just bad. The beginning was promising and it would’ve been good with just that, but the end I just couldn’t stop thinking « what the fuck? ». The plot is really meh, the spice is ok but again, meh there’s just no fun in spice without plot for me.

Why choose, Love triangle, Vampire

Great premise!

I really enjoyed the premise of this and the characters were super! There were a few times though where I had to re-read section as it seemed to miss something - not sure if intentional but I did find it quite tricky at times.
Overall, great story, well written (apart from the above) by one of the indie authors I will always enjoy!

A dark and dirty paranormal romance

This book was deliciously dark and tantalizing, and extremely dirty. I couldn’t put it down until the end! Definitely check the trigger warnings, because there are many. Highly recommend ! I can't wait to read another book by this author.
