Camilla is an engineer who left science behind to enter the whimsical realm of romantic fiction.
She writes contemporary rom-coms. Her characters have big hearts, might be a little stubborn at times, and love to banter with each other. Every story she pens has a guaranteed HEA that will make your heart beat faster. Unless you're a vampire, of course.
Camilla is a cat lover, coffee addict, and shoe hoarder. Besides writing, she loves reading—duh!—cooking, watching bad TV, and going to the movies—popcorn, please. She's a bit of a foodie, nothing too serious. A keen traveler, Camilla knows mosquitoes play a role in the ecosystem, and she doesn't want to starve all those frog princes out there, but she could really live without them.
I enjoyed this series a lot, but I was left feeling a little disappointed. As much as Haley was not the villain, I still had a hard time liking her. Most of this book and the last book was about Haley (probably about 95%). That really threw me off, especially with the third book having a picture of a blonde girl (Madison)on the cover. I connected the most with Madison, but her story was rushed through, and that made me sad. It was clear that Madison’s relationship is heading in the right direction, but I was just left feeling incomplete. Haley really did get everything: best friends that loved her, two guys that fought over her, and majority of the story written about her while Madison was left with scraps. The only way I would really feel happy is if a novella came out that was completely about Madison and her relationship later in the future to show that her guy falls in love with her (because it was clear that he only liked her by the end of this book).
I loved wrapping up this story... Over four books, I really grew attached to these characters and this was an emotional book to write for me. Hope you feel the same...
The rating of 5 Stars is for the full Just Friends series. This book gets 4.25 rating
I read this book in about half a day, with it being a working day because the suspense was driving me mad. I think in book 2 I knew who Haley was going to end up with, but book 3 made me feel a little icky given how casual the hook-ups were continuing with wrong couples and them being blase about it or attributing it to vindictive behavior. The first two books didn't have this much awkwardness probably because there were no brothers in love with same girl element. But Camilla pulls this one off, as satisfyingly enough you can do this with such a romance pairing
My grouse with this book was it continued to spend a lot of time on Haley deluding herself which led to less time for Madison. But the dialogue was biting, as biting it could get for some early twenty-somethings. Scott was more humane, not the goody-two shoes he was portrayed to be. Haley continued to be selfish and a bit thoughtless but you could feel her desperation. It was only a question of bad timing that she did not meet first, who was clearly her soulmate
David was fantastic, he almost escalated to Ethan-level good. He was kind, funny and loving. He made the pages come alive no matter whom he was interacting with, and not just Haley. He was an absolute riot to read. He was unpredictable and you almost wish that Scott wasn't his brother to delay the inevitable because otherwise he's your perfect, leading book hero.
The epilogue was a happy one to read (including that bit about Georgina and Tyler) and barring my inability to fully get over blood relation love triangles, Camilla made me care very deeply about the characters! Now I look forward to more of her 'First Comes Love' series! She is already my auto-read
Oh, how i loved this book. First of all it opens with my favorite character: DAVID! Yeas! Even if he's suffering... I loved him in every state, when he was trying to be douche because he was hurt, when he got mad, when he got impossibly gentle or impossibly hot... He's the perfect example of a three-dimensional character with flaws that make you love him only more...
Now, that scene by the fireplace. OMG, I was melting! This is a squeaky clean romance, but the way the author manages to convey such passion without revealing much... gosh it was all tension and emotions... I just couldn't put this book down!
I loved how all the other stories wrapped up, too. We get glimpses of characters from previous books and it was great to follow Jack and Alice's evolving relationship, you know, to see a couple beyond the veil of the moment they get together...
Just hated it.... Too many POVs and what the actual fuck.... Haley just got everything. She was just ugh. Didn’t like her at all and couldn’t even though I tried. 😫😤 Loved David so much but I’d have wished him to end up with someone else. 😔😒
Haley has been in a steady relationship with Scott for quite a while, but can't deny that she also feels a deep connection to his brother David. When Scott goes away for a summer internship David uses this time to get closer to Haley. Haley's best friend Madison has a crush on Scott and it devastated her when Scott and Haley got together. Because Haley is also her roommate, Madison can't escape the happy couple. Two brothers are in love with the same girl and two best are friends in love with the same guy. Who will choose whom when the summer ends?
Haley and Madison have been best friends for a long time and are very considerate towards each other. Haley knows that Madison has a crush on Scott and she tries to keep Madison away from heartache as much as possible. Haley has gotten to know David on a deeper level and he has shown her his true colors under all of his bad boy layers. Haley knows she has to make a decision. She doesn't want to cause a argument between the two brothers. It has happened before that a girl divided them and she'll do anything to prevent that from happening again. Will Haley discover which brother is supposed to be her soulmate before it's too late?
I Don't Want To Be Friends is a story about searching for your true love, best friends and loyalty. The main characters of I Don't Want To Be Friends have already been introduced in the first three books of the Just Friends series. They have started their last year in college and are all getting ready for their adult life. I always enjoy to read up on characters that I've previously been introduced to and what I liked so much about this series was to actually follow them on their journey into adulthood. Camilla Isley never disappoints with her lighthearted romantic novels that she always fills with humor. I've read every book she has ever written and I'm a big fan of her stories. I highly recommend I Don't Want To Be Friends, just like any of her other books.
Book 3 and 4 These were epic! David was my favorite character of the whole series. The super intricate love triangles here were the best, but also the strong depiction of female friendship.
It’ll be interesting to see who ends up with whom. Will Haley get together with her masked stranger? Will she stay with her boyfriend whom she loves? Will Madison get the boy she’s had her eye on for a while, or will she develop feelings for her ex-boyfriend?
Otherwise good book, but the ending was weird and rushed. Not everyone needs a happy ending. Trying not to spoil but there was this one couple that would’ve actually needed a whole book to get to the same page… And they got like couple of pages. Would’ve made more sense if this book concentrated to its main couple till the end.
I’m one of those that loves a good love triangle, so I was excited about this one. However, it fell short pretty quick. The plot and characters had a lot of potential, but their relationships never developed. From the beginning of the book, we were left out of crucial plot moments, that could’ve made this book great (ex: Jack turning down Alice, right off the bat 🤔) The book was a weird mix of time dragging, me skipping pages out of boredom, and then feeling like the author was rushing things. There weren’t sweet moments and conversations that stuck with me. The multi-view points was weird and hard to follow. I gave it 3 stars only because I feel like the author had a good idea, but in the end it was sloppy and lacked attention to details in those small moments that make a book memorable.
Start: 5/3 End: 5/14 Read time: 11 days Rating: ⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🌶️ Recommend: Review: I had to finish this one just to complete the series, but I have to say by this one I’m kind of the the repetitive love story of Hayley, Scott, David and Madison. I felt the narrative got slightly better after the accident, like the story was finally going to go somewhere, but it still took until the end of the book for everyone to get together with the right people 🙄 Alice’s character annoyed the shit out of me. Typical girl who doesn’t wanna piss off her boyfriend for being mad at her for no fucking reason within her control. DONT LET HIM OFF THE HOOK SO EASY GIRL. I’m Glad that I the end Scott and Hayley finally realized they weren’t working. Took long enough. Basically plot was predictable and boring after three books lhaha . Fave part: 1. The accident. Was hoping for a little more
Well damn. So much tension. The book starts where it left off with David at the bar waiting for Haley, and Haley and Scott reconnecting. David is way over the edge for Haley, Haley is in love with Scott and maybe in "like?" with David, and Madison is still pinning quietly for Scott while trying not to hate her best friend. The situation they're all in sucks, but is so real. None of the interactions seem faked or forced. And although everyone wants someone and is in love, they still live their lives and attend classes. I love a love story that's not full of stupid lovesick people. They are all so wonderful and I'm very happy with how it ended and I loved getting a peak back into Georgina, Tyler, Rose, and Ethan's lives. I really hope there is more for these characters.
I'm sorry but I hate this series. The bed hopping, the friend swaps, the MANY unrequited loves and stupid pining made me want to throw my phone across the room too many times to count. They were ALL so immature that I was almost constantly wanting to pull my hair out. Sometimes I hate that I feel the need to finish series, especially ones where you have to get to the very end before all the stupid storylines resolved themselves. I cannot get this time back, but I know to not pick up any books by thos author ever again. Just not for me, at all.
3.5 stars ⭐️ this series was the wildest of rides! I have a new found love for drama filled books now. My absolute favorite character was Madison… which means I was in fact let down a little bit. The last 2 books focused way too much on Haley for me. I wasn’t the biggest Haley fan so I wish she wouldn’t have just had a perfect happily ever after, while Madison’s story was just rushed through and I didn’t feel like it got the justice it deserved. Don’t get me wrong I liked all the other characters, I just wanted more Madison.
The story got repetitive, continuing the Hailey/Scott/David saga from Book 3. The story could have been wrapped up in book 3, and book 4 could have focused on Madison finding her own love interest, instead of recycling characters. Speaking of, I don't know any girl group that would be so cool with their best friend sleeping with everyones boyfriends. Book 2 was my favorite. The series had good potential, but the ending fell flat for me.

The conclusion to this series, with Haley, David, Alice, Jack, Scott & Madison. This book sees the relationship between Haley and David begin, Scott healing after his break up with Haley, and him falling in love with Madison :) Would definitely recommend to all those who love a complicated love triangle ;)
Ok, so I‘m bitter. I knew what I was getting myself into when I stared reading this book. I knew that I’d finally know who ends up with whom. And I happen to be one of the few who doesn’t like new relationship constellation. For once I‘d like for the main couple to work through their problems and not break up for good just to end up with someone else.

5 Stars At the start of this book I disliked some characters, however as this series progressed I found myself surprising myself. The guy I hoped would win the girl, was not, who I previously hoped. This is such a heart warming series that I will definitely reread.
An epic conclusion to one of my all-times favorite series... what a journey it has been. The only thing I can complain about is that there isn't more books. I loved these set of characters I'm so sorry to say goodbye.
I very much enjoyed reading all four books in the just friends books. The characters were fun and loving and crazy and more mature than you think college people can be so just a good read!!!!!
2.5 stars this series isn't for me. I don't like cheating. I don't enjoy people falling for others when they are already in love. I read the books out of order, but I won't read anymore in series. I didn't enjoy these books. Wasn't my style.
