The Hell Dimension #4

Dark Souls Academy: The Sacrifice

Rate this book
To Slay a Monster, I Had to Become One.

What was worse than having five mates in Hell? Fighting with those mates.

I didn't want this mating because it'd put everyone I loved in danger, but the assholes still claimed me in front of the Goddess Nyx. There was no going back from that shit.

The burning desire inside me for each of these men didn't mind the bond, but when they all ganged up against me, I left. I took all the responsibilities of protecting the Dark Souls Academy with me. There was no way these pricks were treating me like a child. My power status outranked all of them now, and they didn't like that. If we couldn't work as a team, I'd work solo. I've done it my whole life.

I had the power now. War was coming, and I needed to be ready. I just hoped I could do it without my mates because I would have to unless things changed.

There was too much at stake to show weakness, even with my mates. There was no more playing it safe. If I had to torture and unalive everyone in Hell, I would at this point. To slay a monster, I had to become one. Demons fought in blood, after all.

I wouldn't stop until Lucifer Fucking Morningstar lay at my feet. The big question was, who was going to win this upcoming war? A darkness was growing inside me, and I wasn't sure I could hold it back. Or if I even wanted to. The numbness it gifted me kept me from breaking down. I had to keep my fingers crossed so the darkness wouldn't swallow me whole.

For book 1 to 4

This series was thankfully short for me. I have never ever used my skipping and skimming skills so much. The writing style seems to be focused on repeating absolutely everything. I mean everything, in every single book.

It's as though the author kept forgetting what had already been written. Funnily enough the 2 chapter long smut scenes had more focus. The one I actually read anyway.

The series desperately needs an editor. At the most, this should have been 2 books.

I was intrigued by the plot in book one, didn't care much for Ivy (heroine) but I did want to know where the plot was going. I realised my mistake after blazing through book 2 and starting book 3, the writing was getting worse.

******Spoiler******

But like a silly moo I was invested. The dismal 2* rating is because after all that, the big bad is killed in 2 chapters. I was fuming, 4 books and a lot of open plot lines and that's it???

To be honest I couldn't have "read" anymore anyway. Ivy and her power trip in book 4 put me off even more than the poor writing.

I really enjoyed this book I thought the fmc was great and having a shadow daddy is always a plus! The take down of Lucifer was great and well written. A fantastic way to end the series!

This book lost me. I found myself no longer interested in the plot or the characters.

Great

I really enjoyed this book. The summary gave me so much anxiety, I was just waiting for her to take the lotion and key and leave to the fae realm. Is in e that’s what the ending hinted at in the last book. We got to enjoy multiple point of views, just like all the last books, but I found more of the guys solrinkled in there than the previous ones. It was almost equal for all of them. We got to read her thoughts, fears, insecurities and we got to read the guys reactions and their reasons to why they acted as they did. There was a spot where I felt I missed a chapter or something. This happened in the previous books too, no amount of re reading previous chapters or key word searches in kindle unlimited shed any light on what happened previously. Just a quick mention on a subject in a way that sounded like there was previous talk on it when there wasn’t. I loved how the battle with Lucifer wasn’t a quick one. The build up of 4 books, I felt it was perfectly paced. I kinda figured Kane would show up when he was absolutely needed. The betrayal of Demarcus and Lilah shocked me, I expected something like Lucifer kidnapping them to force her to submit but instead they stood with him. I had hoped that she would change her mind on betraying Ivy and I’m so glad that she did or else Ivy wouldn’t be alive and Lucifer would probably still be sitting on a throne.
I’m just really glad she didn’t run from her mates, I hate books and series where there’s a separation of fated mates, whether forced or willingly. It gives me anxiety just thinking on it. Reading their thoughts and fears on both sides just makes me want to yell at the characters, or better yet lock them in a room that blocks all magic. The whole anxiety over Ivys avoidance of her mates was an alive and well but it wasn’t as bad as it could be.
Of all her mates, Trigger is my fav. He fell for her the moment he saw her and let her know any chance he could. She was his, and although it took to the end of book 3 to make it happen, he never lost hope. Kain and Bones, were more reserved but had passion aplenty in this book. Bones opened up more, Kain allowed himself to be vulnerable to her, it was like she was their guiding light and they Finally were able to show their emotions on how obsessed they were with her. It was a great series. I really enjoyed it.

The final installment in Tosha Y. Millers Dark souls academy series was everything I could have hoped for. Tosha is amazing at world building that is not to complicated and doesn’t feel like work to understand while your reading it. Ivy is the ultimate badas* FMC and her 5 mates are all obsessive and strong, they have to be reminded that she does not need hero’s she needs partners but once they all remember who they are they are each the perfect compliment to each other. This is a dark fantasy romance in hell so expect blood and death and battles for power, don’t let the academic setting fool you all of main characters are at least in their 20’s and there is no age gap power balance issues in the group. This book get 5⭐️ and 3 🌶️ the series gets 5 ⭐️ and 4 🌶️. This book had less spicy scenes but the spice we get be spicing!

Let me start off by saying that I absolutely loved the fact that this is no “save me” FMC. Ivy is a bad@ss rockstar of an FMC. I could not get enough of her strong character.
This is a whychoose, paranormal with several different aspects of the paranormal settings. Besides having the extra “mates”, this story actually has a storyline to it also.
Characters were great, the story was great and the writing was spot on. I think Ms. Miller will do great things in her writing and I hope to see this story keep going with the characters within the story.

The end...for now I hope

I absolutely loved the series however I still have some unanswered questions like: What happened to Kain when he was in a coma? What happened to the academy after the battle? Are demons allowed back on Earth without being hunted by light souls? An epilogue would be awesome! I'd like to see what Hell looks like with new leadership. Also I'd like to see what happens with some of the secondary characters but maybe a few will have their own stories 😁 hopefully!

I loved reading this as an ARC. I can't get enough of a book with a hardass female lead struggling to be recognized for who she is outside of her mates, even if it means becoming a monstrosity herself. She and her mates struggle with the reversed power dynamic in this installment, and it's interesting to see how they work through it. If you like a strong female lead set in a paranormal why choose universe, pick this one up.

Worth the wait

I've been waiting for this release for a long time, and it didn't disappoint! I love the fullness of Tosha Miller's stories. She packs in the details and the action, but doesn't go overboard so as to bore you. I loved the length of the big final battle. I would love to read an extra epilogue or novella about Ivy and her mates - and I'd love it if she wrote Marnie's story also!

Well, I take back what I said about the last book in regard to her relationships. That whole argument with her mates felt forced, and easily fixed, and yet took up half the book. Not nearly enough groveling, but the fight was ridiculous to begin with, I guess. I liked that you got to see Marnie for two seconds. The ending was a nice HEA. Fair warning: Lots of errors/typos. Could have used another round of edits.

This series kept you wanting more. This final book kept me turning page after page wanting to know what happened next. You’ll love the characters and while dark and twisted if you enjoy dark fantasy you will fall in love with this series. The final battle was epic and the final book was a great conclusion to this awesome series.

I totally missed the first 3 books in series but I have quickly now gotten all 3 of them. So well written and ohhh the banter and spice wow!! You definitely want to check out this series. In this book we have a FMC with multiple mates who occasionally need reminding she can take care of herself. Definitely jump into this series after you check your trigger warnings. 🖤🖤🔥🔥🥵🥵😈😈 Happy Reading.

epic

Really enjoyed this series. The author has really grown into her story telling, which was good and is now exceptional.
Our Queen has grown and continues to shine no matter what is thrown at her. Her mates must learn to grow with her or they will lose her. The final battle will be epic!

So sad it's over!

This series was top tier!

Everything you could want in a PNR Reverse Harem does. From Enemies to lovers, Champion FMC, bloodthirsty FMC & MMCs!

It is a must read! I devoured these books and can't wait to read more from this author.

5/5 definitely recommend and a must read

Ivy, and her mates were terrific.
The ending was great, and did the series justice. The Devil got his due!

This book was very predictable and boring, the author constantly repeats stuff we already know. She also set it up for like three side characters to have separate books, but because of that we have no clue why the main group actually succeeded which just makes the story seem to have plot holes.

Felt like 300 pages of flashbacks and reminders about basic things established in each of the last three books, just drawing things out until the last 70 pages to finish the battle and epilogue. 💤
