5 Redeeming Stars!!!

Have you ever done something unforgivable? Something you can in no way justify, and because of that, you feel like you could never be redeemed? Kyle Sterling has. He doesn’t remember all of the details, but he knows he has done something horrible to the one woman he’s ever loved.
“I didn’t,” I say aloud to myself. “I wouldn’t have.”
But did I? Was it possible? Even to her?

Kyle wants to apologize, find some way to make it up to Emmy, but she’s gone. Disappeared. Now he is just trying to keep it together. He is fresh out of rehab when he sees Lily again. Lily is the opposite of Kyle. She isn’t ‘clean cut’ she has tattoo’s, piercings, and she manages Emmy’s bar. She see’s Kyle and she knows he is in a bad way. She has always found him attractive, but she would never go there. Guys like him don’t go for girls like her. But she can’t watch him self destruct, so she tries to help him. She drives him home and helps him keep it together. For some reason, Kyle opens up to Lily that night. Lily has a lot of hurt in her past, so she can relate to some of what Kyle is going through. She gives him sound advice.
“You did awful things, but no one is going to punish you more than you are going to punish yourself, but you can also redeem yourself.”

The two have a moment... a connection, but as soon as it starts, it’s over. A few years goes by before they see one another again.

Lily’s job is gone, her big plan’s for the future, gone. She is desperate. She takes a job offered by her friend Mayson at Sterling Inc. What she doesn’t know is that she will be Kyle Sterlings assistant. She can do this. Lily is a professional and she needs this job (not just for herself, she has others who depend on her as well.) Kyle is hesitant about Lily taking the job, but he lets her prove herself. And she does. He can be an ass to her at times, but thats just the way he is.
“I have asshole tendencies. I’ve been trying to work on it.”

The more time Lily and Kyle spend together, the more Kyle starts to fall for her. He doesn’t want to. He knows he doesn’t deserve her. Doesn’t deserve love period. Lily has issues too, and Kyle isn’t the one who can help her. He is too broken himself.
She needed an unselfish man to cherish her, put her on a pedestal and love her unconditionally without any real risk of ever hurting her. She was broken, and since I, too was broken, I wasn’t the one to fix her.

 photo b3a752f3-fe3d-4187-aa5e-dc9450b230ec_zpse6f15cb1.jpg

Lily is confused by Kyle’s behavior. Sometimes, he acts protective of her, like he wants her and can’t get enough. Other times, he is totally distant. It’s only a matter of time before he makes his feelings known to her.
“You are repeatedly making me love the things I don’t want to. I didn’t want to love your tattoos and piercings and style. I didn’t want to love the way you drive me fucking crazy with that obnoxious mouth of yours. I didn’t want to love you and I do.”

He won’t hide their relationship. Kyle made that mistake once, never again. He wants to be there for Lily, protect her. Even though she can handle herself pretty well, he needs to take care of her. Keep her safe. There is someone out there, someone dangerous that is a bit obsessed with Lily and he does whatever necessary to protect her. She does something for Kyle that no one, not even Emmy was able to do. She makes him feel like he is living.

 photo b78528ab-deb6-4d7e-ba16-3173edfbf47e_zps4f6a4582.jpg

I love my broken guys, and Kyle is definitely broken. He has had a terrible childhood, and most of his issues stem from that. For the first time in a long time, he is truly happy. But something happens that brings him back to his past and scares him. He can’t be with Lily. He isn’t good for her. He does the only thing he knows... he pushes her away.

“It’s only a matter of time before I completely ruin you.”

Lily hasn’t had an easy life either. She has lost almost everything and everyone who was ever important to her. She has had her fair share of tragedy and heartbreak. She won’t let Kyle go that easy. Especially once she learns . Lily was a kick ass heroine. She was so strong, and even with her tough exterior, she was kind, loving, giving and compassionate. Some of my favorite scenes in this book were when she stood up to Jess and Kyle’s mom. Bad ass. She does the only thing she knows to do. Goes to the person she thinks can fix it. And she gets some pretty sound advice.
“Fight for him and don’t ever let him go.”

The last few chapters of this book kept me on the seat of my pants... I was biting my nails waiting to see how it all turned out. Will Kyle ever be able to let go of the past???

I absolutely loved Kyle in ‘Accidentally on Purpose’. I hated some of the things he did, and how things went down, but Kyle was always my favorite. I was so happy he got his own story. And even happier that it was with someone like Lily. Lily was just the woman Kyle needed. I was so happy to see Kyle’s side of the story. To see his guilt, shame, growth and redemption. Everyone is worthy of love. Kyle’s journey is hard to read at times, it was heartbreaking, but in the end, I was happy with how everything turned out. I enjoyed this book EVEN MORE than the first.

**This is not a stand alone, I wouldn’t read it without first reading ‘Accidentally on Purpose.’**

4.5 Redeeming stars!!

I have to start off by saying that I always knew I love Kyle Sterling even his darkest hours.

This book is Kyle's book after the whole fiasco with Emmy in Accidently on Purpose.

That book was a crazy love triangle with Emmy, Kyle and Lucas.

Emmy was Kyle's drug and he loved her but sometimes that love is toxic and isn't enough.
Kyle was forced to be with Jessyca and Emmy was his secret. Living and being a drug addict didn't help Kyle either and he broke Emmy and himself in the process the night he hit her.

Now... Kyle is struggling to pick up those broken pieces of what he did to Emmy.

In comes Lily.

She's fiestly, sexy and totally opposite to what Kyle is used to in his life.
Lily puts him in his place and helps him in a way that he needs it.

"You are repeatedly making me love the things I don’t want to,” I said as I grinned down at her. “I didn’t want to love your tattoos and piercings and style. I didn’t want to love your skills at work. I didn’t want to love the way you drive me fucking crazy with that obnoxious mouth of yours. I didn’t want to love you and I do. Now I love snuggling, but if you repeat that to anyone, you’ll never get snuggles again."

Until Kyle and Lily realize they have feelings for each other.
Their chemistry is scorching hotttt!

Lily is exactly what Kyle needs...

"I love you,” he said, his voice thick with emotion. “You have revived something in me that I thought was gone and dead. You don’t just make me feel alive, but you make me feel like I am living."

But Kyle always has the demons of his past haunting him and he can't let what he did to Emmy go.

Bravo to Lily for doing what she did to give Kyle the closure with Emmy that he needed.

"Fight for him and don’t ever let him go.”

I loved this series and a definite recommendation to everyone!

"Thank you,”

"For what?”

"For believing I was worthy of redemption"

I always had a bit of a thing for Kyle ... He broke my heart in Accidentally on Purpose, Worthy picks up two years after the violent and devastating end of his relationship with Emmy. He broke Emmy and broke himself too, if I'm really honest I was a little unsure about this book, because deep down I really wanted Kyle and Emmy to have another chance at what they had had, but as soon as we are introduced to Lily I fell in love with her too.
I always knew that Kyle was Worthy of Redemption, I never doubted it, and yes Kyle being Kyle I knew he would be a dick at times and he didn't disappoint. I'm glad that Enmmy and Kyle had a chance to say things to each other that needed to be said and I still have a thing for Kyle in fact now I've got even a bigger thing for Kyle !!
Accidentally on Purpose is one of my all time favourite books but i always felt so sad at the way Emmy and Kyle's relationship ended but now I feel much more complete about their story deep down I knew they could never go back.
Thank you L.D Davis for giving me closure and some truly erotic scenes where I wished I was lily.

I'm too excited about this. I know I know but I felt bad for him (not excusing him), just thought he needed help and needed to get away from his dad!!!!!.....well that's how I felt after reading AOP, there was something about Kyle that was familiar and I knew his pain ran deep. But what I didn't know was just how broken he himself was.

I have to give it L.D. Davis, she nailed it for me in this book. I know many people hated Kyle, thought what he did was inexcusable but I felt a connection with him. Unless you yourself have been broken its hard to understand Kyle's fucked up way of thinking, it's irrational cause you're irrational. When you are told over and over again that you are nothing, worthless, and a disappointment, you believe it. When you believe it, it's easier to hear and accept the bad things about you but hard to believe the good. So that's where this story continues, Kyle's journey to redemption. But it's not about Emmy forgiving him, it's about him forgiving himself and that is the hardest forgiveness. ""No buts. Yes, you did awful things, but no one is going to punish you more than you are going to punish yourself, but you can also redeem yourself. If there was no redemption for anyone, then every criminal should just be executed because the time they'll spend in prison would be pointless. I do believe you can be redeemed, despite your stupid big mouth.".

Kyle meets Lily, a spitfire with a heart of gold. Lily has had heartache but she's tough and can put Kyle in his place "Kyle, I will hurt your balls and leave you on the floor without a second thought. Are you understanding me??. God I loved her, she understood Kyle but unfortunately she felt like she was always in the shadow of Emmy. This is a bit of a roller coaster ride. We find out about Kyle's past, which is heartbreaking, how anyone can speak and treat a child like that is disgusting. And when Lily told off Kyle's mom, well I was right behind her, "Am I still angry that you and your asshole ex husband have been verbally and physically abusing Kyle his entire life? You bet your sweet, rich ass I am angry. Am I still angry that the only way you know how to apologize to your son is by taking him to brunch? Fuck yeah, I'm angry. You have no idea the damage you have done."

This story is heartbreaking, the journey that Kyle has to go through just to believe he's worthy is frustrating. I loved how Emmy came back and forgave Kyle, tried to set him free, take some of the burden away ""Our love was one of addiction and instability. Kyle broke me........but I broke him first". Sometimes love isn't enough, and if you thought after AOP that Emmy loved Kyle more, well you will have a different opinion after AOP2. Kyle and Emmy did love each other but were both too weak for each other, they were a drug for each other, dysfunctional. Emmy realized and found her rock in Luke, her HEA, but will Kyle accept he can be forgiven, worthy and realize Lily can be his rock?? Or does he think he will always be unworthy.....this story is about real heartache and at times, it doesn't always have an HEA.....but remember forgiveness is about understanding and acceptance it's not about making excuses or saying what you did was ok, it's never ok to abuse someone, but holding on to that anger, can destroy you. So if you can't forgive, you can't move forward and forgiveness starts with yourself and that is the hardest part......and that is Kyle's journey, will he able to forgive himself and move forward with Lily or will he continue to punish himself and be stuck in the past with Emmy???

Anyone who reads my reviews KNOWS how much I hate(d) Kyle Sterling. That man aggravated every fiber of my being in Accidentally On Purpose. I hate him so much, I didn't even want him to have his own story.....

He's a piece of shit...

Pieces of shit don't deserve to have their story told....

OK...
So I'm also a woman, and women are allowed to change their mind.

*Clears throat*

I love Kyle now.

You really shouldn't judge someone until you know their story. Poor Kyle's story is a rough one. My heart ached for him throughout the entire book.

And I just love Lily and her smart ass mouth! I found myself laughing out loud repeatedly while reading. There are so much smart ass banter being thrown around in this book and it thoroughly entertained me.

We get to see some of our favorites from AOP, and get some seriously shocking situations. At first I was pissed off at some of these surprises... But... It's life, it's real.. and just like in AOP, sometimes good people do f*cked up shit. Don't get scared, it all makes for entertaining reads...

And in true L.D. Davis fashion.... BIG SURPRISES!!!

Please pick up this book! You won't regret it!

Warning: Spoilers if you have not read Accidentally on Purpose (Accidentally on Purpose #1)

If you have been a follower of mine for a long time you would know how much I freakin’ love the book Accidentally on Purpose. It was one of my top books of 2012 and a book I have read over and over again. A.O.P played with my emotions in every way and I absolutely loved it! I loved the Characters Emmy, Kyle, and Luke so much. I couldn’t wait to read Kyle’s story and understand his drug addiction more since it did not get revealed until the end of A.O.P. Worthy of Redemption is Kyle Sterling’s book…It is written in Kyle & Lily’s POV alternating between chapters. Plus a couple of chapters in Emmy’s… that was my favorite part at the end!

Kyle was left completely broken by the end of A.O.P after beating pregnant Emmy while high on drugs. He has no memory of the incident and is haunted by what he did to Emmy, the woman he loved. In W.O.R. he struggles with not knowing what happened that night and can’t move past it. He begins a relationship with Lily but pushes her away fearing he'll hurt her as well.

Kyle has always known Lily, a worker at the bar Emmy owned but never had any type of relationship with her. Lily is the complete opposite of any woman Kyle has dated. She has tattoos, piercings, and multi colored hair while he is Mr. GQ. Her personality reminded me of Emmy with her no taking B.S. from anyone, especially Kyle. Kyle is now sober and Lily is there for him not only to stay sober but helps him move on from Emmy and takes over the job of his office manager. Kyle and Lily begin a real relationship; out in the open and everyone knows they are a couple, no more hiding for Kyle. Lily feels like she is living in the shadow of Emmy. Kyle loves Lily but he pushes her away because he is worried he will relapse and hurt her like he did Emmy.

I love Kyle and all his craziness… I knew Luke and Emmy belonged together but I couldn’t help but want Emmy with Kyle too. I love Kyle AND Emmy… reading about Kyle AND Lily was different… I had a hard time connecting with their romance. I just did not feel or understand the connection between Kyle & Lily. I wanted to so badly but felt Kyle fell in love with her too quickly. This is to no fault of the author; L.D. Davis is a fantastic writer, I am just a reader who has a hard time reading about a character who has a new love interest different from before.

What I LOVED about the book was the end… there is a long chapter in Emmy’s POV and her current life married to Luke living in Chicago with two children. The chapter seemed thrown in and out of place with the rest of the book. I am hoping this means a third book will be written about Luke & Emmy’s marriage… I would completely devour it! I am not ready to say goodbye to Emmy yet. Emmy also comes back at the very end to help Lily & Kyle and give closure to her relationship with Kyle. They are finally face to face again after two years discussing their relationship. It was also one of the best parts of the book and I felt I had closure for them as well. They were finally honest with each other, no longer hiding secrets. I loved the ending for everyone, it was perfect. I still didn’t totally understand Kyle & Lily but by the end I had a better understanding of them together and was happy.

Worthy of Redemption did not have the same magic as Accidently on Purpose had but it still a wonderful story. I can’t imagine any follow up book living up to A.O.P. because it was so amazing. I loved being able to learn more about Kyle and all he has had to go through with his childhood, his parents, his relationships… he struggled with a lot and I am happy he found happiness and peace with Lily.

Worthy of Redemption is a wonderful story, I think any fan of the first book will love it and be excited to read about Kyle, Luke, and Emmy again.

I give Worthy of Redemption (Accidentally on Purpose #2) 4 Stars.

Worthy of Redemption – LD Davis

4.5 stars!!

“I know you want me, I know you love me, but you don’t need me. You still need Emmy. That’s why you cried last night,” she touched her neck with remembrance. “Because as strongly as you feel for me, you don’t need me. I’m not enough. I just wish I didn’t need you too.”

OMG, how could I fall in love with Kyle Sterling…I loathed him after Accidentally on Purpose, even though I loved him too…I felt his pain, I knew there must have been a solid reason behind how his relationship with Emmy ended but I was devastated all at the same time. He needed to get away from his “father” before any more damage could be inflicted on him, but what was his reason for staying? He seemed to be bound to the company, but why? After everything his “father” put him through, why stay?? Well, all is revealed and so much more. But LD Davis, managed to do the impossible, she has made me love someone that beat a woman and that is no mean feat. Whilst there is no excuse for such an act and I would not expect Emmy to ever forgive him, you understood why and how by the end of this book, he was not in control of what he did, he has no memory of what he did only nightmares and even then he does not know if they are real images or a figment of his imagination, but what he sees he doesn’t like, they torture him.

“I was very much in pain after losing Emmy and as cliché as it may be, I couldn’t imagine ever loving someone else again.”

Kyle Sterling is a broken man, having just come out of rehab, he tries to find Emmy, he needs to know what happened, but toying with these emotions leaves him on the brink of relapse. He has always used drink and drugs as his coping mechanism, but after that fateful night where he beat Emmy he realises that he cannot continue and that he needs to find other ways to deal, other ways to cope, but most of all he needs punishing. He feels that he got away with it, even though he lost the person that meant the most to him…ever, as if that wasn’t punishment enough, even though his heart had been ripped out he wanted to keep on punishing himself. He couldn’t let go and he couldn’t move on, he just tortured himself. It wasn’t until Lily came into his life that he could actually see a life after Emmy, but even then, the dark thoughts were always there, punishing, torturing, remembering and he could not help but let these thoughts interfere with his relationship with Lily.

“He was my drug, and I was his,” she said so softly I almost didn’t hear it. “Our love was one of addiction and instability. Kyle broke me,” she said and then paused for a moment. Then she looked at my face with a hard expression. “But I broke him first.”

Lily was not Kyle’s “normal type”, she had her own issues, she was broken herself. In an attempt to “reinvent” herself, she changes her hair colour, cuts her hair, has tattoos and piercings anything to change the “old Lily” to the “new Lily” but this was all just a mask, as the pain and the hurt that she was feeling was still there lurking underneath. She has only given her heart away once and that ended badly, very badly so she keeps her heart firmly guarded. She is a ballsy feisty girl, can look after herself and is extremely independent but she is also selfless, as we find out during this book. It will take a very special someone to break into her heart again and is Kyle Sterling that man? If he does manage to penetrate her walls, would he help heal, or destroy what was left? With what we know about Kyle, how volatile and emotionally wrecked he is, the odds do not look good!! If Lily wants this relationship to survive, she needs to make Kyle realise that he is “Worthy of Redemption,” that they can both move on from the past and the future is theirs for the taking.

This book is incredibly deep, I couldn’t possibly convey in words how emotional and angsty this book is, LD Davis, drags you into their little world and pulls you through it warts and all, you feel their pain, sadness, emotion, happiness (yes there is some), love, fragility and fears. You need to read it to experience it in all its literary glory. There were times when I was laughing, mainly at how idiotic Kyle was at times, I just wanted to punch him, strangle him and make him see sense…but then once you had learned throughout the book what he had been through and had to cope with, you just wanted to give him cuddles and make him realise that he is worthy, everyone is worthy, no matter what their past indiscretions, there is room for forgiveness, both received and given.

There are some twists and turns in this book, you do get to see how Emmy and Luke are doing. We learn about Kyle and Lily’s families and how their pasts have so destructively moulded their present. We realise what needs to be done to help these two both move on going forward. Free from their past, just living for their future.

“I love you,” he said, his voice thick with emotion. “You have revived something in me that I thought was gone and dead. You don’t just make me feel alive, but you make me feel like I am living.”

I have loved this series, I will admit that this book was long and at times it felt long, I seemed to be reading and no progress was being made but on reflection, I think it all needed to be said. I can’t wait to see what else LD has in store for us. I love her style.

I loved Accidentally on Purpose and I, like most people who read it, was not a fan of Kyle's at all. When I found out that he would be getting his story I could not wait to read it. I needed to know all about Kyle. Why he was the way he was, what happened to him that caused all that pain and I needed to know about that night that would forever haunt him. L.D. Davis did an amazing job with his story. She managed to take a character who I did not like at all, and made me fall in love with him. And yes, you read that correctly. I fell in Love with Kyle Sterling in Worthy of Redemption.

Kyle is a broken and tortured man. We learn about his past and his issues with his father, which leads to the anger and pain that Kyle has been dealing with. Over the years Kyle has coped with his pain the only way he knew how, drugs and alcohol. But that horrible night, not too long ago when he hurt the woman that he loved he realizes that he needs to find other ways to deal with his past. There is a vulnerable side to Kyle and seeing what he has gone through will break your heart. There is one person in his life right now that makes him feel alive, and that is Lily Whitman.

"I let my emotions flow through my body into hers. I held her as she did the one thing I wouldn't allow myself to do. I held her tightly and let her cry for me."

Lily has her own issues from her past that she has been dealing with as well. In ways these two characters are both broken an find comfort with each other. Lily knows that Kyle is bad news and knows what happened with him and Emmy. But she doesn't know the worst part, and when she does find out what he did, she doesn't run. She sees that there is more to Kyle than most people do. She sees the pain and the hurt and gets a glimpse of what has caused it. Kyle opens up to Lily in ways that he never opened up with anyone, not even Emmy. He finds himself falling for her but he feels she deserves better. He will only screw it up somehow and hurt her. Kyle's biggest issue is his past with Emmy. While Kyle is in love with Lily there is a part of him that will always love Emmy. The biggest hurdle for Kyle is Emmy and his feelings for her. He doesn't remember the night that he hurt her. And while he has tried to move on from her, knowing that she is in a happy place with Luke, he realizes that until he knows what happened and until he can forgive himself for what he did, he can't move forward. Can Lily convince Kyle that he is worthy of redemption and deserves to be happy? Can she help him move on from the past and build a future with her?

There is so much depth to this story that I will not go into because you need to experience it all for yourself. There are Lily's issues with her family and her past that she needs to confront. We see Emmy and Luke and see how Emmy has affected Kyle and his thoughts. And how he needs her to help him move on. Lily and Kyle's journey is a very emotional one. There were moments I laughed, mostly at Kyle because even though I loved him, he was still a douche at times and I found myself just laughing at how much of an ass he was. There were moments where he was so sweet with Lily and then moments where he completely frustrated me and I wanted to kill him all over again. After seeing all that Kyle has been through, you truly understand him in so many ways. When you get past the surface of Kyle Sterling you will find that he really is an amazing guy that will capture your heart.

"I love you," he said, his voice thick with emotion. "You have revived something in me that I thought was gone and dead. you don't just make me feel alive, but you make me feels like I am living."

This was an amazing story that had me crying on a few occasions. L.D. Davis did a fantastic job with these two broken characters. I went through all the emotions with them, the pain, anger, sadness, frustration and happiness that they felt. There are a few twists that were thrown in there that completely surprised me. Worthy of Redemption is a must read and one that had me in tears at the end, in a really good way. Amazing job by Ms. Davis!

** I was provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review. **

Wow! I loved this book! I was hooked by the end of the Prologue and barely put the book down until it was done.

I didn't think I would since even though I didn't want Emmy and Kyle together... I didn't want him with anyone else. But then along came Lilly. She was a really great heroine. Instead of being broken by her past, she was stronger because of it. She put things out there and really kept Kyle in line. My heart hurt for Lilly about 3/4 of the way through the book. The author elicited strong emotions when writing this story.

We learn a lot more about Kyle's back story and the pressures and insecurities that have led him to behave the way he did in book 1 and subsequently this book. The man continually has shit thrown at him. Its almost understandable how he bent under the demands. And I think seeing his vulnerabilities made him more loveable.

And I loved how Emmy and Luke made an appearance. Without giving away spoilers, my heart was racing when Emmy first came back on the scene. I couldn't believe what I was reading. I was hoping it was wrong... I was hoping it was all a joke. Boy was I nervous. But in the end, I think everyone ended up where they needed to be.

I will definitely continue to read books from this author.

The Review:
Before going into Worthy of Redemption, I wasn’t sure if I was going to like the mains after the events of book one, Accidentally On Purpose. I was conflicted and torn in the first half of AOP as we are taken on an emotional roller coaster ride with Emmy, Luke and Kyle, eventually getting our happy ending after a passionate yet disastrous journey. Kyle does some unforgivable things while on that journey and I truly thought there was no redemption for one so dark. But L.D. Davis proves she is a master with the written word as she takes this flawed, dark character and brings him into the light.

Soon I was immersed in this story, in these characters and started to understand, comprehend and even like Kyle a little more. Before long, I was totally smitten with him all over again. I watched his affection for Lily grow and his caring, if somewhat possessive nature, take root and bloom.

This read was exciting, thrilling, sexy and consuming! Once I picked it up, I couldn’t put it down!

Characters...
Kyle Sterling is trying to learn from his mistakes but he’s stuck in a vicious, self-loathing cycle that stems from the pain he inflicted on Emmy but also from his past which we soon discover is steeped in abuse and neglect.

He can’t let the the mistakes he made with Emmy go as it haunts him and sends him into incoherent nightmares. He’s struggling to stay clean from the drugs he uses as a coping shield from his troubled past and the pressures of his present. While he desperately wants to be with Lily, he also thinks he’s not good for her and he has this need to understand and remember what transpired between him and Emmy the night he attacked her. He wants to move forward, but fear and a need to protect Lily from himself is keeping him from the happiness he longs for.

Also as more of his past is revealed, you get a clear understanding of who he was, where he came from and who he wants to be now. Kyle is a deeply tortured man with many layers, some dark but there’s a lot of strength and formidability within his troubled heart, and a light that only seems to grow brighter in Lily’s presence. Their relationship is passionate, sensual and beautiful at times but filled with lots of misconceptions and tons of wonderful angst.

Lily has her own traumatic past that haunts her and keeps her mind locked in the past. This story finds her suffering the effects of betrayal and loss, so her reaching out to Kyle is is a huge step for her. Maybe too big!

I didn’t want to like Lily at first, because my heart was still wrapped around the Emmy, Kyle, Luke triangle. While Kyle was trying to get past his addiction, his passion, his love and his broken heart over Emmy, I was as well. Then Lily stampedes her way into his heart with her out of the box personality, her bullying ways and her need to see him happy, making him, as well as the reader, fall completely in love with her... and them as a couple. She is an amazing heroine!

This is a romantic tale of two people who just want to be loved.

However, there’s danger lurking all around Kyle and Lily as the past, present and future seems to want to test them at every turn. With emotions running high, memories and past actions resurfacing and dangerous obsessions a constant threat, Kyle and Lily have to find a way to be happy, to love and find redemption when it seems there’s none to be had!

So why the sad face...
I only have one small qualm about this read. The author gives us a treat when Emmy’s wisdom and knowledge is called upon by Lily once she hits a massive wall. We get a glimpse into Emmy and Luke’s life after AOP and things are not happily ever after! Seeing Emmy and Luke struggling was like opening an old wound and though we get a “sense” things are going to be ok, I still wanted a final scene of their happiness for closure. I wanted to see Emmy and Luke happy, living life in a perfect love bubble when it was all said and done but it was sort of left open ended. Perhaps a novella is in the works? *hint hint* ;P

The Wrap Up:
This book is more emotional, more steamier, more thrilling, more exciting... just MORE! If I wasn’t already a fan of L.D. Davis, this book would have permanently cemented her in my favorite authors list! Her talent for writing well developed, beautiful and captivating stories, packed with emotional angst, amazing and intriguing characters is what keeps readers come back! Worthy of Redemption is a fantastic second book in the series that gives you one heck of a bumpy but amazing ride! I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!

APPARENTLY WE WRITE BOOKS ABOUT REDEEMABLE DRUG ADDICTED, PREGNANT WOMAN BEATING, ATTEMPTED MURDERERS NOW!!

I just couldn't get myself into this story. I couldn't relate to Lily and I really didn't enjoy their story at all.

-spoiler alert-

I'm sorry but the first kiss scene was absolute bullsh*t to me. So you're going to tell me that while Emmy is all freshly beaten, pregnant, and alone in France all Kyle could think about was kissing a girl with a tongue ring? Seriously? Granted he didn't know where she was but still! You just beat the crap out of the woman you love while she was 5 months pregnant and you're already thinking sexually about another woman? The author should have waited before adding anything sexual into the mix. I was so bored with their story I started just searching for scenes with Emmy's name on my kindle and skimming through everything else.

I don't give a shit about Kyle Sterling I hated him the moment the Miami incident took place. There is nothing the author could possible do to make me think he had redeemed himself. I would have been able to finish the book if it weren't for his pig ass jumping right into bed with someone else while Emmy was suffering. And I hated Lily. You stupid idiot. She wasn't relatable at all and her ability to jump into bed with a man she knew had done something so revolting and with someone who was her boss and FRIEND. Yuck!

Now about the Emmy chapter in the book. My original response to the author adding this in was:

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I actually had tears in my eyes. I hated the fact that Luke did (even almost) to her, it ruined their story for me. I know he didn't go through with it but still...he was tainted in my eyes. The worst part was that they were just newly married so what the hell was his excuse? The woman you've been in love with before you even started dating is now your wife and the mother of your children and the moment she gains weight you start looking at someone else? BLAHH!

BUT! Then I read book three in the series and it cleared everything up for me. I am so damn thankful for book three because the Emmy chapter in "Worthy of Redemption" totally killed the series for me. I highly recommend for everyone read it so you know what was really going on from Luke's POV.

4.5 stars. I liked this one sooo much better than Accidentally on Purpose! Kyle was still very flawed, and a little too weak for my taste but Lily rocked! I want to be her! She made the book! She was exactly what Kyle needed to help him learn to be a better person. I now realize that Emmy was not good for him, she was a trigger. Lily was hope. Although Kyle had many flaws, he was not lacking in the Sexy as Hell department! He was ON FIRE even more so than in book 1, now if he could have only taken that confidence and stretched it to other parts in his life he would have scored better for me. Was he redeemed, maybe. Could he have made some different choices, yes! Am I happy with the progress he's made, absolutely!

I left 'Accidentally on Purpose' not sure how I felt about Kyle. He had done some really screwed up crap. Although there was a fairly large gap in the reading time of AOP and WOR I couldn't remember who I liked more, Luke or Kyle.. Did I like Kyle with Emmy, I knew I did, but I think the things that he had done in AOP turned me off a bit..

When WOR started, I could see his turmoil, and for the majority of the book, I wanted Emmy to come back, I wanted her baby to be his and I wanted them to get together. I am probably on my own with that. I felt my pairing at the end of AOP was due to Kyles behavior.. So all of WOR for me was a slight waste

I was left not liking Lily. In fact her comments about Emmy in the beginning set all of that into motion. I don't care that she was just as broken as Kyle (that was crammed down my throat) I didn't like her.. I didn't like her at all.. I don't like her for Kyle.

So I am stuck not liking this book. You know that kyle and emmy end together.. and you are left not knowing what happens with Emmy and Luke and if their relationship is super strong because well I don't really know, that all confused me.

Lily gets her HEA but Emmy is just an "okay" with Luke because we know she is still in love with Kyle, but Emmy loves Luke, and then she tells Lily that Lily and Kyle belong together.. i didn't buy it.. Not cool.

Kyle redeemed himself, but Lily was so crass. I tried really hard to like Lily, but no matter how hard I tried I couldn't understand her appeal.

Davis!

Buddy read with Nicole.

This is Kyle's book and is told in dual POV with Lily.

I was devastated at the end of book one that Emmy didn't choose Kyle. I understand why she chose Luke but even after reading this book and loving Lily and Kyle together I still wanted Emmy with Kyle.

We find out about Kyles past and childhood. What he lived through and why he did what he did. He broke my heart and I did shed some tears for the beautiful man for whom I will always have a soft spot.

Lily is a strong heroine just like Emmy but is her complete opposite in looks upbringing and bank balance. She was attracted to Kyle from the moment she met him but knew he was forbidden fruit and why would he even look at her she thought. They strike up a friendship, but she knows of his past with Emmy and she's confident that she knows how to handle Kyle. But Kyle has a way of infiltrating your heart and breaking even the strongest woman just like he did with Lily.

They aren't each other first loves but they truly do love each other and seeing them finally find happiness with each other after all the hurdles and heartbreak was just beautiful.

I give this book five HUGE stars as it's a terrific follow-up to "Accidentally on Purpose." I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw "Worthy of Redemption" listed on Amazon. I was so excited I "Pre-Ordered" it and started reading it late last night. I would have kept on going but I couldn't keep my eyes open. Trust me, I tried. If you loved book one, you'll absolutely love book 2. L.D. Davis ("Davis") delivers another well-developed, emotional, self-discovery roller-coaster ride that will just captivate you. I LOVED Kyle in book one, only to fall in love with him again in book two. We get to learn so much more about Kyle this round which gives us a better understanding as to who he really is. As much as you want to hate him, you can't. Davis' talent at weaving a romantic (and erotic) story of love and forgiveness truly shines in this novel like it does in the first. This is a series that should be read by all. Just make sure you schedule enough time to read this because once you start you won't be able to stop. It's so bloody good!

Loved it..review when I get to a real computer..

Ok if I was good at GIFs and pics to show what I think the written "characters" should look like I would find who the chest belongs to on the cover..(maybe his face is a disaster and that is why there is only chest shot?) Um yumm! Enough of that back to the book. I was one of the twisted chicks that LOVED Kyle in AOP. Yes he was a crystal meth sniffing, lying dirtbag but he was hot and I love me a bad boy. I wasn't cheering on Kyle and Emmy though, I thought she belonged with Luke (that's his name right?) So this book was right up my alley!

Lily and her tough as nails exterior and soft and mushy need to love interior was exactly what Kyle needed. I loved the interactions of these 2 from the get go. This book was better than the first in my humble (but oh so right) opinion. Kyle was so multi-faceted as a lead he really held you and wouldn't let you go, hate him or love him, he was a great story! Angst lovers..look no further! Loved this book and am sad to see them go..

Lily works as Kyle's personal assistant...Just like Emmy was. Is history going to repeat itself? Lily isn't the typical type of woman Kyle dates, but she catches his eye nonetheless.

Pssst, hey, hey you, yeah you.
You aren't planning on reading this book are you?
No?
GOOD.

This book was far worse than I was expecting, this book dragged on for far too long, and I'm not sure how I coped through it. The story-line is severely faulted, with lots of inconsistencies. This book was also fairly predictable, seriously annoying, and unrealistic. The stupid emotions in the book made me want to punch myself in the face. Very similar events happened in this book as it did in the last, who wants everything repeated? NOT ME. This book has two POV's (and occasionally more) I prefer one POV as then nothing is repeated.

This book was depressing, and a gigantic cluster-fuck.

I was interested in hearing about Kyle redeeming himself, but not with Lily in the picture. He goes to Emmy’s bar, where Lily is bartending, gets smashed and admits to Lilly he is fresh out of rehab and that prior to that he beat up pregnant Emmy while high on meth. He doesn’t even know about her or the baby’s condition. She’s interested, admits she’s always been interested, takes him home, and takes care of him. WTF? I’m out @10%.

First of all WOW. It was just enough angst, just enough of love, just enough of redemption, just enough of everything to make feel a lot of different emotions. I love it.

You need to read the series the order so read Accidentally on Purpose before you read Worthy of Redemption.

First let me start by saying I HATED Kyle in Accidently on Purpose. HATED HIM!!! What he did to Emmy was WRONG!! Unforgiveable, but you see a different Kyle in this book. You feel his pain, you see his hurt.

"You broke your toy."

Oh don’t get me wrong, he is still a jerk. Still an ass and he knows he is an ass which I think makes it even worse. But, I wanted him to have his HEA. I wanted to him to be in peace. I am not excusing his behavior and what he did to Emmy. UGH! This is tough to explain, but you just really SEE Kyle in this book. Who he really is and just how messed up everything was and is and you want to make it better.

Lily, I did not think I was going to like her character at all. I started reading this book and it described her as a tattoo, pierced tough girl who did not take crap from anyone. Honestly, I thought she is just going to act like a bitch with the whole attitude of “you either like me or you don’t and I don’t care” and that is why she is why she is going to be perceived as tough. Well, I was wrong. Well, Lily is tough, but she is not a bitch. She can take care of herself and as Kyle calls her “his little bully.” By the end of this book, I loved her. Sure she switched her mind and sometimes I felt that she gave in to Kyle too quickly, but in the end, I felt all her emotions. I understood.

Lily has a lot of responsibilities. I do not want to say too much about her responsibilities since I don’t want to give the story away, but she has more than herself to take care of. Even though she takes on this responsibility without anyone asking her, it is a lot and it just shows what a good of a person she is.

"She saved my like nearly two years ago and I owed her more than a job for that, especially after the way I shrugged her off."

Lily is awesome. She is a better person than me since I would have not been so nice to her sister. I think what her sister, Lydia, did was wrong. I don’t care about the excuse. There is NO excuse for what Lydia did. I want to make a comment about karma here.

The book is written mostly in Kyle’s and Lily’s POV, but towards the end you get a few chapters in Emmy’s POV. We get to see a little what Emmy’s life is like since she married Luke and moved to Chicago 3 years later. I won’t say much about that, but I what I want to say is Emmy…the way you handled that stupid woman, I loved it!! You kick ass!! UGH!!! I am glad Emmy took care of that bitch.

Well I loved it all. I think I explained a lot of my feeling above. We learn so much about Kyle’s life in this book. Additionally, I am glad that we got to see what Emmy’s life was like. This book made me cry, but in the end it left me with a smile. A particular conversation that Emmy has with Kyle towards the end of the book, it made me think. I wish I could say more, but I want you to read it with fresh eyes.

Okay, one thing I cringed at was the lack of birth control. Big pet peeve in books unless the characters discuss monogamy and use some form of birth control. Enough said.

I was nervous about reading this sequel since I read another sequel where the initial love interest in the first book did not work out and the guy met someone else in the sequel who I hated and it left a bad taste in my mouth; but this book was so different and so good. I loved all the characters and yes in the end I liked Kyle. I stayed up until 4am reading, but stopped only because I was getting sleepy and was afraid I was going to miss something in my tired state. I have to admit, I was so nervous about what was going to happen until the very end. A lot happens in the last 3 chapters and I found myself turning the pages quickly. I had to know what was going to happen.

One more thing I want to add…Marco needs his own story!!

A copy was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

My pick for book of the YEAR 2013! YES GIRL! It was that good that I gave it an award.

I can not review this book fully without giving the story away so I will include a lot of my favorite quotes from this book instead. However it is my book reviewing obligation to plead with the author . Yes beg , plead, request whatever I have to do . But PLEASE LD PLEASE continue the story of Kyle & Lilly!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE even if you just write it for me and Rachel ( my reading buddy) that will be fine. But I NEED MORE

New characters are introduced in WOR. A new favorite from WOR is LIlly! I Flipping LOVE LILLY!! Lilly develops a relationship with Kyle and let me just say I am HERE FOR IT! It's hot! Kyle is hot! Lilly is sexy! And damn Kyle broke my heart AGAIN

Favorite Quotes:

-"You're mean," she whispered. " But you love me that way."

-"You need to know i'm okay so you can knock me down again? You need to know i'm okay so you can tell me how much you wish you didn't care that I was okay? Do you need to know that I am okay so you can continue stalking me and then use what you discover to hurt me? Do you need to know i'm okay so you can fuck me in your bed and then call out another name? Or do you need to know i'm okay so you can out up a stone cold wall to repel me? WHy exactly do you need to know that I am okay! You're one big fucked up contradiction! But if you must really know , Kyle, if you really have to know if I'm okay, the answer is no! I'm not okay!"

-“Fight for him and don’t ever let him go.”

The title of this book was so good. I am not saying you will love Kyle or that his actions from book 1 will be excused but you will learn more about him. What I learned about Kyle and Emmy from his POV was how truly toxic their relationship was. Yes they love each other. But as you read in book 2 and see Kyle and Emmy away from each other you will see that their love compared to how their lives are in the present is more like obsession.A very unhealthy obsession. Kyle truly becomes a man in this book. I just loved it so much watching him learn about himself and own his mistakes and become a man.

OMG I loved this book. I am so happy I got a chance to read it. This book took me on an emotional roller coaster. I didn't want to put it down.

Lily is a girl with a lot of issues. She had a rough life, she is dealing with the feelings she has for Kyle. She knows he doesn't want her, but it still doesn't stop her from wanting him. How can she have the guy she wants the most and protect her heart?

Kyle is a douchebag. He had a messed up childhood and his father was constantly pushing him to do things he didn't want to do. He turned to drugs and alcohol to help him cope. He is still trying to cope from beating Emmy, he ex-girlfriend. He still doesn't remember everything that happened that night. He needs to learn how to forgive himself for what he did to Emmy before he can move on. Can he love Lily enough to try and forgive himself?

This book was amazing. If you haven't read Accidentally on Purpose you need to now. This is an amazing conclusion to that book. L.D. Davis knows how to engage her readers and make them feel like they are in the book! Well done!!!!

"You have revived something in me that I thought was gone and dead. You don't just make me feel alive, but you make me feel like I am living."

"Do you believe you are worthy of redemption?"

Ah Dammit, I really loved this book. I'm not even going to try and defend Kyle to many of you but he deserved his redemption. I'm undecided if I personally would've forgiven him. But whatever he proved there was a "good" side to him. Stalkerish side, lol. What I really enjoyed most was that even throughout his pain, suffering and change, he never became a sissy. The character was kept strong and controlling. I like that side of Kyle.

Then we get Lily who's not putting up with anyone's BS. Little bully as Kyle likes to call her. She's exactly what he needed.

I loved the back and forth POV's and also getting Emmy and Luke. It's surprising I've enjoyed a second book more than the first. This is turning out really good. If you read Accidentally on Purpose than this is a must for you. I highly recommend it. Looking forward to Worth the Fight!

Where to begin with how amazing this story was! I think the title itself "Worthy of Redemption" is perfectly fitting because Mr. Kyle Sterling sure does redeem himself in every aspect to me throughout this story.

Kyle, Kyle, Kyle….I have to say there was always something about him from the get go that seemed to pull at my heartstrings. Even when he can be a jerk sometimes. Underneath all the drama, crap, the angst & him fighting his inner demons I still always rooted for him. I was rooting for him even back in Book #1. And I loved him more than ever in the story. My heart went out to him so many times with how much of an ass his Step father Walter is to him. And his mother although mentally ill treated him horribly as well. I felt like he was weighed down with so much guilt & burdens. It was heartbreaking to see him continuously punish himself for his mistakes. Granted his mistakes were huge! And im not excusing it. But considering he was under the influences of drugs & alcohol and not in his right mind & you could clearly see everything tore him apart. Like Emmy..I felt like forgiving him too. I felt like he suffered enough and needed to move on and let go all those past tragedies. It was extremely sweet too all the things he did throughout this story. Helping out Lily's family & always trying to keep her safe. Even when he thought the only way for her to be safe was to not be with him. Majority of the time in this story I just wanted to grab Kyle and just hug & kiss his troubles away…
<br />

I absolutely loved Lily! She was so funny, sweet, sincere, didn't' take any crap from anyone. I liked the whole complete brutal honesty she goes for. It was refreshing & fun to see. I think also she's such a strong woman to go through all she had with Gavin & plus the miscarriage with their baby. And I think she's a total bad ass! I loved how she doesn't want any handouts & wants to earn everything for herself. I can relate to that kind of mindset myself and I saw myself in her in someways. And of course loved seeing someone finally put stupid snobby Jessica in her place. About time! That girl had has had some nerve & its been a long time coming to see her get what she deserved!

Accidentally on Purpose #1 is one of my favorite books. And now of course I have to add the sequel to that list as well. I think it was even better than Book 1. Only thing I wanted to change in book 1 was i thought it needed more sex & heat, passion, etc.. Don't get me wrong I don't need a wall to wall sex book. But if im reading a romance or erotica book? It kind expected to see some action going on. And this book definitely delivered on that. It gave what the other book was lacking in some ways. Surprisingly hotter than I even expected it to be. Especially this particular scene, Kyle's dirty mouth has come a long way ;)

"Its too much!". She screamed. "I can't!"
"You can, and you will, baby." I urged her. "I want to see your cum gushing out of that pussy, Lily."
"We tried before," she panted, tossing her head back and forth in ecstasy
"We tried, I can't."
"You will," I demanded. "I can't wait to see you squirting all over the place, Lily. You're going to soak me with your cum baby."

And trust me if you've read Book 1. Thats a big STEP UP in the sexy department from how it was Book 1. So kudos to the author for kicking up the heat!

The duel POV's went perfectly I think as well. I liked seeing both sides of what they were thinking and going through in their own heads. And I wasn't expecting Emmy POV's to come in towards the ending but I think it fit in nicely. And I think that was a classic touch seeing her & Kyle face to face again and parting on good terms. Book #1 left me feeling so sad afterwards. Not that I don't love Luke. I do & even his semi-crappy behavior towards the ending with Iris. I still liked the guy a lot. But I was always in Kyle's corner more. I felt thats where Emmy's heart was. I think it was very mature, & smart and shows how much she's grown and evolved as a person for her to set everything aside to try to help Kyle & Lily find their way again to one another and happiness.

Upon reading "Worthy of Redemption," I honestly had a preconceived notion that it would not live up to its predecessor, "Accidentally On Purpose." Let me say for the record, I. Was. Wrong! This sequel really tugged on my heart strings, and Kyle Sterling's story captivated me from start to finish.

I was not prepared to embrace Kyle and his new love interest, Lily. In the beginning, I found myself thinking that they were a mismatched pair. But as their story unfolded, I started to become consumed with their haunting tales of loneliness, heartache, and loss.

About Kyle...
Kyle had a dysfunctional family, a tormented childhood, and an addiction to drugs. He suffered from memory loss and was in utter agony over his actions that caused Emmy pain and heartache. His nightmares were a constant reminder of the monster inside of him. He longed to know the details of exactly what he did to Emmy, but more importantly, to be punished for it. He believes that he doesn't deserve love, happiness, or redemption.

About Lily...
In the very beginning, I didn't like Lily. I thought she was quirky with a bad attitude and style. But, she quickly changed my mind! She's one tough, sassy b**ch, who endured heart wrenching pain that almost broke her. Yet, she's still standing strong ~ with a big heart and the capacity to love with every fiber of her being. Yes, it was safe to say that I fell in love with the female lead character! That's a first for me!

About Marco...
Speaking of love, did I mention that I have a HUGE crush on Marco Mangini, Kyle's friend and business partner? He is a sensual, suave, Italian billionaire that made me feel ga-ga and weak in my knees! I pray that we get his story next. I may dream about him tonight. *Sighs and swoons!*

This sequel is full of twists and turns, light and darkness, and pain and forgiveness. Be prepared to meet other fantastic supporting characters that give this story a lot of punch: Walter and Felicia Sterling, Gavin and Lydia, Vic Rickers, and a return appearance of Luke and Emmy Kessler.

And in the end, I absolutely enjoyed reading this steamy, vulnerable love story with alternating points-of-view. My rating, Excellent: 4 to 4.5 Stars (and at times, the excitement and sexy factor hit 5 stars)!

Flip me this was good.
This review contains spoilers for book one...
By the end of the first book Kyle was dead to me. Nothing could excuse or redeem his behaviour. When I saw the title of this, I thought ha, that'd better be good.
It really, really was.
I was completely engrossed in Kyle and Lily 's story. It was hard at first because I really believed that Kyle belonged with Emmy, but this trilogy has had me spinning and turning more than I can ever remember. I am not usually that fickle. Just ask my husband...
The sex scenes in this...yikes. A few were repetitive. Most weren't. It's actually worth reading for the sex scenes alone. When you factor in the emotional angst and drama then wow...I have no words.
I'm dreading the final book - more on Luke and Emmy. I kind of like where we left them in this book but I'm going to take a deep breath before diving right in because this woman can write. And also because I will never tire of reading about Luke's monster cock. *hangs head in shame*
Highly recommended.

Loved, loved this continuation of Kyle's story, who we left in Accidentally, having lost Emmy, but had managed to completely break her :-(

We start to gain an understanding of the drink fuelled, bar barfer and what has led to his own single handed self persecution parade. He starts a dialogue with Lily, Emmy's SHOTZ friend, and there forges an unlikely alliance between them.

I like the way the story advanced, and I enjoyed Lily's character and how she challenged Kyle's perception of himself. I also became very invested in Kyle, as Lily started to break down a few barriers and we got to see the bare bones of him.

The writing was suitably seamless, steamy and captivating. I could not put the book down. It was also good to catch up with Emmy & Luke, and has steered me straight towards their further story.
