Luna
One dream: become the top-ranked Grandmaster in the world. One obstacle: Vince Rossi. The mobster’s strong-armed his way into my life, jeopardizing everything. My father murdered, me on the hook for his debt, my guardian thinks he controls my life. But I’ll do whatever it takes to gain the advantage, including sharing a bed with my extorter. When freedom is your endgame, sacrifices have to be made.
Vince
As the Parisi family oddsmaker, I don’t believe in luck; I believe in the vig. Until
sports betting became legal and the odds were stacked against me. Years spent building the biggest sports book kingdom in the state of Jersey, and it all comes crashing down with the stroke of a politician’s pen. What could save my crumbling castle? An eighteen-year old brat who hates me with every fiber of her being. The little chess star owes me. The problem is, Luna Barone is starting to own me…and my dormant heart. When secrets are revealed, I don’t have to be an oddsmaker to predict how this game will end.
Oh what a tangled web we weave when the Parisi family we try to deceive.
Forgotten Sacrifice is a beautiful and poignant read and a great addition to the Parisi Family Series. So Luna is a chess Prodigy while Vince Rossi is a member of the mafia family. Andrea’s writing is absolutely beautiful and characters are so lovely that you can’t help but fall in love with them. Luna and Vince chemistry is so good. The Mafia world is filled with dangers and secrets. There is a mystery and love how the two of them came together even after everything is absolutely beautiful. Luna’s father did a terrible thing with Luna to pay off his debts but Vince becomes the guardian. It took some time for both of them to reconnect and strengthen their bond. There is banter, forced proximity, spice, and twists. Author has created Luna’s character beautifully, she has shared her fears and traumas she has been through. She is witty, sassy, ambitious and so much more. Vince’s character was so good, it felt like he was hiding his true self behind a facade but from within, he is such a beautiful soul.
I always love coming back to the Parisi family! Vince and Luna’s story was a great one. Perfect angst, flow and spice. They’re so alike and yet polar opposites, but complementary. They both had a lot of healing to do but they’re better together! My favorite parts are seeing the rest of the gang throughout the story, in this case specifically seeing Nicky and Kat help Luna so much! We had already met her in their books but I love seeing the same scenes from the other persons POV and what they’re thinking at the same times.
Ok…..spoiler alert…..the sneak peek of the next book?!? WHAT, and WHERE is that going?! I literally cannot wait.

Hands down my favourite in the series so far, and that's saying something as I'm completely addicted to the Parisi Family!
This one I knew would be something I love - it's age gap, spicy, ward/guard romance with a daddy kink. The sexual tension between these two jumps off the pages when you're reading. There's some scenes some people may find triggering, so check those warnings before starting as this is a more darker book in the series.
It's filled with twists, shocking reveals and continues the underlying story of the family perfectly. I can't wait for the next book!
Welcome back into the Parisi Family, where the men are dangerous and morally gray, and the woman can’t help but fall for them. Vince is Luna’s guardian, taking her in when her father is k!ll3d. He takes her so she can pay off her father’s debts. She is a master chess player, and her earnings will pay her way out of under Vince’s care. The insane chemistry between the two and the feelings are what neither one of them had in the plan. I am usually not one for slow burn, I hate the wait…but this slow burn MADE the book what it was! I ATE this story UP! I absolutely LOVEDDDDD the banter between the two, I laughed out loud so many times! This was a fantastic addition to this addicting mafia series, and it just makes me crave more! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
TITLE: Forgotten Sacrifice GENRE: Contemporary Romance AUTHOR: Andrea Hagan TROPE: Mafia Romance, Enemies-to-Lovers TYPE: Series (Parisi Family Book 4) POV: Dual POV MY RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫/ 5
⚠️ Check trigger warnings; this dark content is for +18 readers
WHAT TO EXPECT: ♟️ Dark-ish Mafia ♟️ Age Gap (16 Years) ♟️ Guardian/Ward ♟️ Slow Burn ♟️ Inexperienced FMC ♟️ She calls him Daddy ♟️ Family Secrets
Something just clicked for me when I was reading Forgotten Sacrifice. I could not put it down and was up past 3 AM reading until I finished. In my opinion, it is the best book in the Parisi family series so far! I loved Luna and Vince! Luna was so feisty, keeping Vince on his toes. For anyone worried about the age gap dynamic, Luna is young when we start their story, but they don’t enter into any romantic relationship until after she turns 18. I will definitely be continuing to the next book in the series when it comes out. I am giving a rating of 4.5 / 5 stars.
Vince and Luna had amazing chemistry! the book also had its funny moments but lowkey got dark near the end of it. cringed badly when she called him Daddy .. i used to be into that but it's kinda cringe now idk... nonetheless, this was a really good executed dark romance. plus, chess! yay!
Luna Barone is a teenage chess prodigy who could potentially to rise to top of the world of competitive chess. Her guardian, Vince Rossi, was her abusive late father’s bookie and is a trusted member the Parisi mob family. Private school and legacy debts are expensive, and Luna is expected to pay them off by handing over her chess winnings. No wonder she’s acting out! Vince’s solution is to switch her to homeschooling in his own home on the eve of her eighteenth birthday. Maybe Vince should recalculate the odds on this latest move?
I absolutely adore Luna and Vince’s story. Luna’s hate seems justified, but Vince’s true heart is camouflaged. The guardian/ward dynamic between Vince and Luna is the focal point of my attraction to this story. I love the “forbidden love” trope and this also capitalizes on the enemies-to-lovers temptation.
Luna’s antics were part of the reason I couldn’t put this down. She is the most intriguing blend of juvenile behaviour and an old and jaded soul. Wow, did she keep Vince on his toes with the sharp objects, sneaking around, and incessantly mouthing off! How does Andrea Hagan keep hitting that sweet spot between dangerous mafia and dark comedy?
Despite the age gap and the dubious beginnings, these two are perfection as a couple. It just takes a while for them to figure it out. I love how Luna and Vince came into focus amidst the background of the Parisi Family. It highlights this author’s romantic penchant for strong “girl bosses” and the murderous mafia men who melt in their hands.
I lowkey ate this book up. Vince is given orders to take out a man that owns them money. Once the job is done, Vince decides to take the man’s teenage daughter under his wing after he kills her father in front of her. A couple of years later Luna gets kicked out of school and has to live with Vince. Where he helps her become a world champion at chess. My only problem with Luna was that Vince told her multiple times that nothing could happen between them, and she still tried to get with him. I would have took the first hint and stayed away. But no, Luna kept going
“Having Luna around is akin to keeping a feral kitten.”
“Good girl.” The words slip out of my mouth.”
“Stop Stockholm Syndroming me.” I spin on my heel and stomp off. “Still not a verb,” he calls after me.”
“Tu sei la definizione di guai,”
I loved it. I loved it. I loved it. Oh, how I loved it!!!! This has the potential to be my favourite book in the Parisi Family series so far. Don’t get me wrong. Book one and book two were absolutely great and I had an amazing fun time getting through book three. But Luna and Vince … damn, they cut my heart. Luna with her trauma and her fears and her stubbornness and determination and feral little attitude and love. Vince … he was exactly what I didn’t know I was looking forward in a MMC. He was doing his best. He was fucked up. He was troubled. He was in desperate need of affection. And he was doing his best to get his loved ones out of a terrible situation. That Uncle Joseph … I agree with what Romeo says about it and that’s as far as I am going to go about it. Their relationship was forbidden, messed up and kinky (but not as much as Kat and Fabio’s) and I loved every single minute of their banter and forced proximity. Did this book make me want to learn how to play chess? Absolutely!!! And the Italian conversations? Loved every second of those !!! The author did a brilliant job both in choosing the right words grammatically and to describe a concept and it reminded me a lot of the first Romeo and Nicky times !!!! Loved that !!! And don’t let me start on the fact that every character from previous books was mentioned and active part in the a story!!!! I’m obsessed !!’ Of course right now I’m in desperate need of Sam and Valentina !!! But if I got right who is gonna be next … well color me intrigued !!! I can’t wait !!!
“Vince can pretend he doesn’t want me all he wants, but those gray sweatpants don’t lie”
“In this game between me and Vince, a queen sacrifice is giving up my V-card for checkmate. It’s a risky move, but one I’m willing to make to get out of this life-sentence.”
“Eyes open, Luna. Watching you come is a religious experience. Don’t deny me.”
“You’re mine, piccola.” The words tumble out of my mouth, and I’m too far gone to worry about taking them back. “Mine.”
Forgotten Sacrifice is book four in the mafia series Parisi Family, written by the fabulous Andrea Hagan. I have followed the Parisi Family since book one and love this mafia family. The world and the multifaceted characters Andrea has created. Even though the book focuses on a couple, it still refers to past characters' ongoing storylines while they appear throughout the book series.
In this book, we focus on Luna and Vince. Luna, the FMC, is a young strong-willed chess player with dreams of being GrandMaster but ends up having to pay off her murdered father’s debt with the Parisi Family. Placed under the care of Vince Rossi, the family’s oddsmaker. Vince has no idea what he is really in for when he sees the endgame in his head. Vince is great at what he does. He has been a part of the family since he was eighteen and worked for them earlier than that, but he can’t help but long for more.
I love the push-and-pull between Luna and Vince. Both of them are stubborn, and they need each other more than they are willing to realize. Both of them are damaged and have walls that are miles high. They wear their trauma as a shield and use it to try and drive them to their end goals.
The chemistry between these two is fiery hot! Hot Hot! With each book, I fell in love with the couples and said they were my favorite, and I did the same with Luna and Vince. I love these two together.
I need Sammy and Valentia’s story! Gimme Gimme, I need I need! Hahaha.
Thank you to Andrea Hagan for gifting me an eARC of Forgotten Sacrifice. I am leaving this review voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This time it's Vince and Luna's turn. I already liked them from their previous appearances, but it was great to get a book full of their banter. Vince and Luna are constantly at each other's throats because of the nature of their relationship and from their obvious feelings for each other. I loved their conversations and the slow progression of their romance.
The plot in this one centers around Luna's life in the chess world. I don't know much about chess, but it's not so dense here that you can't follow it. I enjoyed the plot, but it takes a backseat to the romance and smut, which is honestly why we're all here, right? The smut in this one is good. It doesn't overpower the story or get redundant, but it is a smut heavy book. The age gap kink (34 and 18) was done well and there was a Daddy/good girl kink, which isn't my favorite, but I know some people love it. I appreciate that despite this being the fourth book in a series, the smut never feels boring or repetitive from the previous books. Each couple is unique, and I really appreciate that.
There is ALWAYS a plot twist I don't see coming! ALWAYS! Not sure how this author still manages to surprise me, but she does!
I still love the characters and the world of this series. Mostly everybody made a reappearance in this book and I was so happy to see my old favorites again, but this book can be read as a standalone if you like.
Overall, if you want a smutty mafia romance that isn't too dark, with loveable characters and twists and turns, give this series a try!
♟️ Dark-ish Mafia ♟️ Age Gap (16 Years) ♟️ Guardian/Ward ♟️ Slow Burn ♟️ Inexperienced FMC ♟️ She calls him Daddy ♟️ He calls her Brat ♟️ Family Secrets ♟️ She tries to knife him multi times
This one I knew would be something I love - it's an age gap, spicy, ward/guard romance with a daddy kink (yes please sir). The sexual tension between these two jumps off the pages when you're reading. Vince didn’t want to take on a ward, but the “family” must be paid. Luna can be a brat and loves to push Vince’s buttons. Vince can be a little over the top but in the best way possible. I love the push-and-pull between Luna and Vince. Both are stubborn, and they need each other more than they are willing to realize. The chemistry between these two is off the charts and the banter, don’t get me started. I loved it all. Andrea knows how to hold your attention.
Who would have thought a mobster’s words would resonate most with me? Technically, it was author Andrea Hagan’s words. There were many amazing quotes in “Forgotten Sacrifice,” ranging from poignant to hilarious to incredibly steamy.
“Forgotten Sacrifice” is a guardian/ward trope. However, Luna is beholden to Vince to pay off her father’s debt. She is a chess champion making money at various competitions, which helps decrease her debt. While living with Vince, she develops feelings or believes he’s “Stockholm syndrome-ing” her into those feelings—her words.
Their banter is fantastic, and Vince handles her well—most of the time. “Forgotten Sacrifice is a mafia story so readers will find some suspense in it, too. The spice is spot on, and there are plenty of those scenes. I enjoyed reading this immensely.
Love a Parisi Family Mafia read and this one follows Vince Rossi (or Mr Vinchenzo as he’s’s affectionately called at times!).
Luna is a chess genius on the rise and she wants to hit the top. She becomes the ward of the broody Oddsmaker to the Parisi family and after leaving boarding school, things escalate! But things never run smoothly and there’s some ups and downs along the way.
This was a fun read for another member of The Family. The Parisi men are an interesting and morally grey bunch but that’s ever so appealing! Was good to see Luna grow throughout the books and to see how her and Vince’s relationship developed. A not too dark Mafia read to take a look at along with the rest of the series from Andrea Hagan!
GO. READ. THIS. BOOK!!! If you love a good made man, mafia book/series, this is it! Andrea does such an amazing job of drawing you in and making you fall in love with these morally grey characters. You’re not sure you should love them but you do, and you’re actually ROOTING for them! Vince is the guy you’d love to hate, but you just can’t. Luna is the spitfire we all wish we could be. Between the banter, which was AMAZING, and the tension/chemistry, which was off the charts, this book gave me everything I could want in a mafia romance. If that’s your kind of thing, this is definitely the book for you.
But this one fell flat for me. I guess I’m still waiting on Valentina and Sam…
I loved Luna and Vince’s banter!!!! AH!!! Their dynamic was so amazing! I guess I just felt like they didn’t belong together? I don’t know if it was the age difference, which never bothers me, but I wish she was older? She was so confident and wise beyond her years, so her being so young was weird? I also felt like there was too much of them not ACTUALLY together? I can’t pinpoint it, but this wasn’t the best out of the series.
3.5 This interconnected stand-alone mafia + guardian/ward romance was intriguing to me because of the FMC chessmaster (my husband loves chess), plus I appreciated that the author noted that, though a dark Mafia romance, it was on the lighter side which was a good balance to the books I’m concurrently reading.
After her father is unable to pay his debts, the feisty FMC is taken into the guardianship of the MMC to repay what her father owes. What they discover is that neither MC is willing to be vulnerable due to their past trauma but cannot deny their attraction ♟️
The story of Vince and Luna was actually really sad and I’m so sorry that they had to go though all that. But whatever cringy stuff was happening between them two wasliterally not it for me, I was mostly annoyed by Luna being so freaking annoying and acting like a baby and by Vince for being such a controlling freak and somewhat intolerant at the first chapters at least because in the end HE WAS CUTE ASF… Luna drove me insane and I still don’t like her also I needed MORE YEARNINGGGGFA their make out was too quick… I needed more shuttttt 3 stars only for my boy Vince and his bro.
Another member of the Parisi Family gets a drama of his own! I really like the tightness of this mafia family and their sometimes harsh but also very close connection with each other. That is why the forming of another couple within the family is like gaining a whole protective army around you. And that is also true of Luna's experience. Their dynamic was so volatile because they were both so stubborn. But once that wall is cracked, it comes crumbling down with a force.
4.5 This mafia romance delivers playful banter, snark, and sparring. I was immediately hooked! I have no words to describe how much I enjoyed this one without giving anything away.
The chemistry between the two characters had me turning the pages as fast as I could. I didn’t even notice the slow burn romance because the character development, action, and dialogue was so addicting.
This is one of those books that gets better as the story progresses. The characters make questionable choices, but HANG ON because it all makes sense in the end.
♟️Guardian/Ward ♟️Age gap ♟She calls him daddy ♟️Chess player and Mafia Oddsmaker ♟️Slow burn ♟️Twists and turns ♟️Witty banter ♟️He's extorting her ♟️She tries to take him out ☠️ ♟️Family secrets ♟️All the spice
short, easy read! however, a little boring & skimmed through most of this book. the characters were okay - but the storyline was rushed and everything was moving so quickly! there was not enough grovelling for me and i don’t think he treated her the nicest! but, there were parts that were cute & i guess it’s another book tucked off😉
this series is definitely not for me, i haven’t really enjoyed any of these books (in my opinion!!) sorry…
This book was as good as I thought it would be. I absolutely love this whole series. I'm still holding out hope to see a certain couple lol. Luna had a rough go of it and then ended up as Vince's ward. After several years of doing what was expected of her she was over it and started lashing out. Vince tried not to fall for his ward. The chemistry was seriously hot and spicy. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
Ugh I love Vince. His missing eye was a little disturbing at first but it wasn’t his fault he lost it lol so tried to be understanding and ignore it. Uncle Joseph is a disgusting pig and I would killed him as well. Poor Aldo did not deserve that. Vince is down af for trying to dip out but he’s a chef or whateva. Luna pissed me off like girl give him a smooch goddammit so hard to get. And once again I would’ve folded for a made man and it is what it is like bffr who wouldn’t.
I love how Andrea gave us a small hint that the darkness may not be as dark as it was in the other books and at first I was a little worried, but I found out pretty quickly. I had no reason to worry! This whirlwind relationship was a ride! It was also heartbreaking and Aldo that sweet brother love him. Luna and Vince or a match made maybe a bit unconventional but that did not stop them and I love them for it!
I enjoyed reading this story. Book 4 in the Parisi Family series. An age gap Mafia romance. This is Luna and Vincenzo’s story. As Vincenzo’s ward, Luna tries her hardest to run rings around her guardian. Both determined not to back down. Things take a turn in their relationship. Lots of ups and downs, but a good storyline and lots of sexy scenes, with a little dd/lg play involved.
If your looking for a book with sexual tension between the characters that is off the charts then this book is defiantly for you. This book is full of twists and turns from the very beginning but constantly keeps you enrapt turning those pages making you not want to put the book down.
I really enjoyed this story and can't wait t see where we go next with the Parisi family story.
