Not as well-crafted as Powwow Highway, (often to the point of being entirely directionless), but totally cinematic. This story abounds with car-chases, horse chases, petite larceny, grand larceny, and plenty of wanton destruction. Of course all of this action had a purpose, but I never did figure out what it was. No matter, it was good to re-visit Philbert, Buddy, Bonnie, and Rabbit in all of their muddled mayhem.

Takes up where Pow Wow Highway left off. More rollicking roadtripping through life from this native Kerouac, not for the gentle readers: much life unabashed, life affirming coupling goes on. Sweet Medicine indeed

terribly uneven, but worth reading if interested in the sassy side of tribes in the western U.S. in the 1990s.
