Maya has been an Amazon for three years and has settled in as a critical member of the village. The companion shortage has improved, but all the Amazon villages are still under a lot of stress, and both nerves and relationships are beginning to fracture.
It was the worst possible time for a major demon incursion.
This is a novel of 100,000 words and is the second of the Amazon series.
A writer by avocation, Robin has a renaissance interest in many areas. A bit of a gypsy, Robin has called a few places home and has traveled widely. A love of the outdoors, animals in general and experimenting with world cuisines, Robin and partner share their home with a menagerie of pets and guests, although sometimes it is difficult to discern who is whom.
I laughed. I cried. I was horrified with some of the events in the installment that happened to Maya. My heart bled for her as well it ached for her.
This love affair between Maya and Her Queen, her Warrior is just breathtaking at the depth of feelings, emotions, love and dedication that they feel for another. I am utterly in love with her Queen and it is immensely evident why Maya loves her to the depths of her very own soul. Her allegiance is legendary.
There is still a wrinkle…Nori. This honorable and commendable warrior is still without a companion. There are more things revealed in the book about her and Maya and why she chose her. She made a play for her very briefly and subtlety when she gave her to the Queen. Is there more. Things are hinting. I was worried that this keeps coming up because of one of the biggest upsets to Queen Maloras rule. I thought and would have been horrified of that would be used to make sense of a transfer of love to happen.
I do get frustrated with both Queen Malora and Maya. For both of them to good judges of character and excellent communicators to frequently get it wrong with one another…
They also remind me like I said if Lara and Michaela from the Madison Wolves series. I’ve said that before. Among others as well, it still remains true. I love this series and the titles kept putting me off. I was just thinking of the Amazon as we know it today, not in the respects of women only tribes and warriors. This series is amazing. I would recommend it in a heartbeat.
With few typos and amazing chemistry, this book is a top read and something I am adding to my "must read again" list.
The adventure and relationships Maya has with the other warriors and companions comes to a heated moment involving her sister, yet again. Didn't see this happening until it was too late. Sadly, the Amazon Queen had my same lack of foresight.
Maya questions herself and her place. Violence and pranks are abundant with invasions and threats within.
I guess I’ve finally finished all the books from the amazon series. Malora and Maya are still my favorite Amazon’s. I absolutely love how Maya is so stubborn but still Malora couldn’t help but love her. It was nice to read from Nori’s perspective in this book as well and finally have some closure on what happened in Green Arrow. Not knowing what happened in Green Arrow was driving me a little bit crazy.
Definitely a thrill ride of trials and tribulations ! Like all of Robin's many other series this series was chucked full of sapphic passion ! Having completed the series . I will honestly encourage those that have never indulged in any of Robin's novel's to check out this see !😍
