Rate this book
Betrayed. Captured. Enslaved on an alien world.

Drew and Matt narrowly escaped from the military through a portal that led to the alien invader's home world. However, before they could react, they were both imprisoned by the world’s inhabitants.

Now, they are forced to fight for their cruel overlords' entertainment. Will they become strong enough to escape their situation and return home?

The action-packed first book of the Drew Rising Trilogy in the Beast Invasion series from Timothy Nugent. Begin a new journey with familiar characters in a portal, progression fantasy that contains a westernized version of cultivation. Join Drew as he finally learns the source of the energy which has forever changed him. As in the previous trilogy, all books are told by a third-person narrator from a single point of view. The series does not contain a harem, nor stat tables.

Another Winner for the Series

This book is a really good cultivator book, and the series has been keeping its high-quality material going. The main character is likable, and what he does makes sense. Overall, i'm looking forward to the next book of the series.

Gah! I always end up wanting more at the end.

Another enjoyable entry into this ever expanding universe. There is a lot going on with some big strides in progression for our MCs. Even if I always leave wanting more and feeling slightly unfinished. It reminds me of a favorite show of mine as a kid, where it only had an episode every 3+ weeks but there was always so much packed into the slightly longer episode. Great feeling, if slightly annoying partially at the end of each one. Can’t wait to start the next one.

Very disappointed!

Book 1 was excellent! Kept my interest to the end. Book 2 was good but not as riveting. 3 was full of disappointment, but this book was downright irritating. Over half was just training. No information about their friends on earth. I may investigate Book 5 if it happens, but we'll have to wait and see.

Mortal Kombat meets Fable 3 magic

Always a twist in events when things get going too could to build the precipice of intrigue. A little humor, a little anticipation and always leaving you wanting the next book to be out already.
