Marvel Super Graphic is a delightfully entertaining and fresh look at the Marvel comics universe through the mighty metrics of colorful infographics.
How many stomach-soothing tablets would Galactus need if he ate the Earth? Clobber versus Who won each fight between the Thing and the Hulk? How worthy is each individual who has hefted Thor’s hammer? Which Marvel heroes play musical instruments? What’s on the Kingpin’s mind?
Author and designer Tim Leong has creatively visualized dozens of deep dive data points and witty “I wonder” subjects ranging from character speed rankings to the length Mister Fantastic can stretch before it hurts to the overlapping stories of the Spider-Verse. Through playful and informative pie charts, bar graphs, Venn diagrams, scatter plots, timelines, story arc guides, and more, Marvel Super Graphic shines a fun and fascinating new light on beloved comics, characters, and Marvel history.

I received a copy of this book for free from the publisher (Chronicle Books) for promotional purposes.
I give this book 4.5 stars which rounds up to 5.
This was a super fun read!
I’m a huge fan of Marvel so I knew I had to read this one.
The book consists entirely of infographics exploring various facets of the Marvel Comics Universe. Some were very helpful (like the Marvel map of Manhattan, family trees, and speed rankings of various characters) and others were so funny (like the the picture of Black Widow’s emblem that states her sense of urgency, either “Russian” or “Takin’ her time”).
The infographics themselves were vibrant, creative, and easy to read/follow. The author did an amazing job organizing and condensing the info into the graphics.
The only thing the book was missing was an introduction and/or conclusion. I would have liked to know the background of how the book came to be and the research behind it. Based on the content of the infographics, it was very evident that a lot of research was done. The book includes many characters, not just the most famous ones. It’s clear a Marvel expert created this book.
Overall, I enjoyed this informative, yet amusing look into the Marvel Comics Universe. If you love Marvel comics, I highly recommend reading this book! It also makes the perfect gift for any Marvel fan.
Not nearly as pleasing as Leong's previous Super Graphic. Too many infographics that were essentially silly faces left me wondering why they were formatted a certain way.
