I'm really sad that this series is over; I need to go back and add reviews to the earlier volumes as well. It reads a bit like it was canceled ahead of time, because the ending is a bit abrupt and some plot threads aren't resolved at all. I still recommend reading the whole set, it's a fast read with so many intriguing details done well. It also engages with topics that manga often don't, like migration. (I really liked that there are actual human immigrants to Japan, and there are also nonhuman beings who end up in Japan after a dimension mismatch. Usually it's either 'fantasy immigration' or 'actual immigration' but almost never both.) There is also some casual trans stuff. I really want more from Shinya Shima; I also liked Lost Lad London, but this series was even better.
I wish this series had been a couple of volumes longer and had given a few more answers to the whole situation with glitches or if there had been´a spin-off dealing with the future of the children and the village. I'm glad I read it and I found it overall enjoyable and interesting. I might buy it on sale but not for full prize as it does fall a bit short by the end in my eyes.
