Together with their partners, Dazai and Dostoyevsky engage in a deadly battle of minds as they blitz through the security of Meursault. Sigma seeks to use this opportunity to steal the secrets of Dostoyevsky’s skill, but such a prize always has a price. Meanwhile, Atsushi agonizes over what he’s learned of Fukuchi's plans, only to be forced once more to fight against Akutagawa―now a vampire. As the struggle for One Order comes to a head, who will come out on top?!

UPDATE 5th December 2023: KADOKAWA has decided to stop the translation of Irreversible Damage, after backlash, and they have apologised for the situation.
UPDATE 4th December 2023: hey guys, in light of recent shit from Kadokawa, publishers of the Bungo Stray Dogs mangas, as well as many other books, I’m not sure if I’ll resume buying the BSD mangas for the foreseeable future, unless it’s second hand. On the 3rd of December this year (2023) Kadokawa announced they are going to translate “Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing our Daughters” by Abigail Shrier, which as you can tell by the title alone, is an incredibly transphobic and falsified manifesto.
they also followed this up by tweeting “差別には反対。
for my wonderful readers who do not read japanese, here is a rough translation: “We [Kadokawa] oppose discrimination, but can we ignore this cruel fact? In the UK, there has been a 4400% increase in girls seeking gender healthcare in the last 10 years! 40% of US college students identify as LGBTQ! This is a strange trend: girls who didn't experience gender dysphoria in childhood suddenly 'transitioning' during adolescence. Schools, influencers, therapists, medical care, even governments advocate for it; dissenters get canceled, even international medical and scientific authorities lose their jobs. Is this Japan's near future? With the enactment of LGBT laws and the recent court ruling deeming the infertility requirement in the Gender Identity Disorder Special Law unconstitutional, what should be done to protect children? What's happening in the West now? A Wall Street Journal reporter interviewed 200 people and 50 families. 'I watched a video on social media after my daughter's breast removal surgery. She lay in the hospital bed, shedding tears of joy, saying it was the best day of her life. 400 supporters commented 'Well done' and 'Amazing'... Normal people.' This is a love letter from mothers to girls who have been ensnared in gender ideology.”
as a trans guy myself, I feel ill even at the thought of this book. it is about me and my trans friends. it is about me and against my existence as a human being.
I am not against book banning, nor am I against translations or censorship of books, even if it’s the most awful murderous evil book on Earth. i believe that we can learn as much from these books as we can from books that (id regard) are extremely peaceful and educational and sympathetic. what I am against is the spread of pure hate, lies, and demonisation of trans people across the globe. our existence is not a disease, it is nothing new, it is not modern, it is not a controversy. we have always been here and we aren’t going anywhere. there is not establishment promoting a transgender establishment.
for further context, currently in japan, transgender people have to legally choose between being permanently sterilised, or to not transition (which, let’s be honest, means choosing between forced sterilisation or death). they can not marry. you can not change your gender marker on official documents without getting the dangerous bottom surgery, which costs millions of yen (tens of thousands of US dollars), completely inaccessible to everyone poor or disabled or young or elderly- the list goes on. gender and sex markers must be known by employers when you apply for jobs in japan, or any time you use your ID, there is no privacy or discrimination laws regarding sex in japan, your employers, landlords, and anyone who has you ID can now your are transgender. that is incredibly dangerous.
and things are not getting better in japan. trans people are stripped for their bodily autonomy, right to marriage, right to privacy, right to health, right to their own money.
that’s why statements like those shared by Kadokawa are extremely dangerous, not just for transgender people as a whole, but specifically for trans people of japan who already face extreme systemic and societal oppression and danger. we need to protect these people, or trans brothers and sisters all over the globe, and that begins by not supporting the assholes who purposefully go out of their way to hurt them and deny their existence.
do not be disillusioned to think that trans and queer in japan aren’t furious about this, because they are. there has been a boycott of Kadokawa called by queer people and allies in japan. people are talking about this, hopefully kadokawa and other publishers learn something from this.
i'm in denial. if he is dead, no way anyone survives this series.
also seeing bsd fans on tiktok using all their braincells to come up with theories as to why he is not dead is so entertaining (i believe the blank bullet theory to be true lol).
anyway the author better start comfirming who is dead and who is not cuz my heart can't take this for much longer. at this pace we won't even have a cast of characters anymore.
i wonder if i would still be in numb disbelief about dazai if i hadn't gotten it spoiled for me. cause if there's anything this manga has taught me, it's that NO ONE EVER FUCKING DIES. even when you see them get SHOT IN THE HEAD. somehow he's still alive. i think. pretty sure. does it lessen the emotional impact and make stuff like this feel gimmicky? yes. am i still absolutely enraptured with everything else somehow? also yes and i don't really know how that's possible
i feel like there's still SOMETHING to dostoy's split personality trick (if not just for the sake of my own ego) especially since this volume really re-centered us back to a lot of the original themes about free will and control and exploitation and people's influence, both good and bad, on our psyches. idk but i can't believe i'm almost caught up wtf am i gonna do when i'm stuck waiting for new chapters

Baca versi bahasa Melayu terbitan Gempak Starz. NOOOO!!! Apakah yang aku baca ini? Please cakap ending dia bukan begini ya. Sesuatu yang tak dijangka betul-betul terjadi and it's not good (in a good way). Kena cepat-cepat baca next volume.
"Who can beat the perfection of somebody who's dead?"
This volume was so action-packed and tense. We've got Chuuya and Fyodor versus Dazai and Sigma, Aya, Atsushi and Bram versus Akutagawa, then later Sigma versus Fyodor and Chuuya versus Dazai.
So much is happening at once, and I'm seriously having heart palpitations. Atsushi's fighting for his life, the ADA is in even more danger, Aya and Bram are helping from the sidelines, and don't even get me started on Dazai and Chuuya! Dostoevsky you're such a cunning dude, and whilst I'm loving the smarts rivalry between him and Dazai, Dostoevsky needs to go.
reading these chapters online as they came out was stressful and devastating and dazai has made me cry more times than i can count that is all happy print release day volume 24 <3
antiwar activist trying to start world war 3, atsushi hearing The Voices, the biggest ship in the fanbase trying to kill each other (again), what’s not to like lmao
